Types of People On Medifast?
Today was a good day for me, as I have had a success in helping a friend of mine get through his first week of Medifast. What I will say about the (many) people I have helped with Medifast is that there is only one type of person that is successful on Medifast. For quite sometime I have been struggling with the question of what type of person uses Medifast successfully. I have tried to understand what makes people succeed, while others fail. I have spoken with diabetics that have succeeded and yet I must admit I have had some diabetics try Medifast, and say it did not work. I have worked with a young teenager that is slowly starting to understand that it has to be more than just being all about a diet, and become more of a way of life. I have had those that are lactose intolerant and yet the reason for success or failure is the result of what type of person is trying to lose the weight. It has taken me about one year, but I think I finally understand what type of person is able to use Medifast and be a success.
What I have learned with Medifast, and any other weight loss program, is that for a person to lose weight, there has to be an inner motivation that is driving them down the path to thinness. The desire that I speak of has to be more than just wanting to fit into a wedding dress or go on that cruise or the result of some New Year’s resolution. What I mean is that the type of person that succeeds with Medifast has to have some level of weight loss desire that will push them beyond the issue of vanity. What I have learned is that most people that try to lose weight are simply full of excuses, until there is that event or that moment in their life that pushes them into the stark reality that weight loss can be an achieved reality with simple perseverance.
I have seen some people have weight loss surgery and not lose their weight and I have seen some people use Medifast and lose their weight. I will not sit here and tell you that everyone loses weight on Medifast, but I will tell you that it is my opinion that ANYONE can lose weight on Medifast. It does not come down to the excuses of being a diabetic or a teenager, it comes down to the gut wrenching reality of internal desire. There is really no more and no less to losing weight, for a healthy person. I will not even sit here and spout of facts about how much better Medifast can be because unless you are ready to hear those truths and compact it into your desire, Medifast will be nothing more than another failed yo-yo diet. How many diets will you try before you realize it just might not be the diet…but you?
I will not sit here and write some nice, cuddly statement and try to cheer you on to lose weight because if it is not something you desire with an internal demand…there is nothing I can say to make you lose the weight. What I will tell you is that if you have rounded the corner and you have reached a point in your life where you are ready to dedicate 30, 60, 90 or even 180 days to lose weight…Medifast is ready. If you are tired of trying to make weight loss a reality in your life, then Medifast can be more than just a diet…it can be the moment that pushes you beyond your current state of obesity. The type of person that loses weight with Medifast is simply the individual that has made the choice of losing weight. This blog (and website) is called I Choose Thin because that name holds a deep meaning with us. It was not until we made the individual choice a perceived reality, did we finally start to make weight loss a reality.
I have helped many people lose weight with Medifast. I have learned that the help offered really only goes as far as the person is willing to push themselves towards their goal. Sure I can assist with the inspiration of knowledge and encouragement, but that only goes so far in another person’s journey. What I have learned about the types of people that are successful using Medifast is that before they will ever accept assistance, they have to believe in their own ability and motivation. The type of person that succeeds using Medifast is simply the individual that wants to learn the basics and run with them long enough to make weight loss a reality. I have come to refer to this as having sustained motivation. I call it this because it will be nobody but you that prevents the sneaking into the drive thru window at McDonald’s. It will only be you that stops the late-night trips to wherever for secret food. If you are not the type of person that can control them-self, then Medifast may not be for you.
If you can control yourself because you are really ready to make weight loss happen…then Medifast is the best tool I have ever found to lose weight. I can say this because I have lost over 100 pounds using it, but that is just my story. Until I stuck with my dream of being thin…. I failed at everything. Once I clung to that desire, I used Medifast to make thin a reality in my life. Now you know the meaning behind the name of this website….I Choose Thin. Medifast is simply a very effective tool to make the process that much easier. The types of people on Medifast are really only two types. Those that lose weight and those that do not.
