The Biggest Loser Recap / Review February 9 2010, which is part of Season 9 began with a review of last weeks events. The playback was shorter than most weeks when Allison interrupted and said that the players were going to do something never before done on any season of The Biggest Loser. This episode the players were all heading to the Olympic Training Camp in Colorado. The next scene is when the show really started where the last show left off in the gym as if there has been no week in between. Allison told the players they would be training with the athletes that were training to represent America at the next Olympics.
Soon we saw the players walking under the Olympic rings wearing winter coats. The Biggest Loser players told America how happy they were to be there with the greatest athlete America had to offer. Allison then told the players that this week they would be playing as individuals this week and that there would be 2 players sent home this week. Allison then went on to tell them that this week two players would be sent home this week. The player with the lowest weight loss would be below the red line and left right away. Then there would be a yellow line and those two under that line would be in the elimination vote as in other weeks. The end result would be that two players would be going home this week instead of the normal one. The players were not happy with this as there were flashbacks to the first week of the season.’
Next Allison said to the players that Allison Jones would be training the players. She was an Olympic super hero that has been involved in the the paraOlympics and few would know, nor consider her to have a disability. Jillian told America how cool it was to be at the Olympic Camp and then the players went andlit the torch we all know represents the Olympics. Michael told America how much his life has changed in the last seven weeks. He could not believe he was there. The large crowd present cheered when Allison Jones lit the cauldron and everyone chanted U-S-A!
Next we saw the players checking out the rooms they would be sleeping in and all of them had autographed flags on their beds. O’Neal said the environment they were in was a once in a life time opportunity that would help their weight loss. Bob Harper and Jillian walked into the Olympic kitchen where they met Adam who explained to them how important food was to help athlete perform. The players learned that the food the different competitors ate was based on the individual and the sport they were training to compete. The players were all told that the food was there for a purpose and each food provided what was needed. Stephanie then went into a commercial for Extra gum with Bob Harper as he explained how the gum fought off a sweet tooth craving.
Koli was then telling America that he could not get John off his mind. Koli was upset that John needed to be there more than he did and he felt remorse that John was sent home and he was still there. Koli started to cry and said that he wanted to run and get away from it all. he said he never did anything like The Biggest Loser, which was all for himself. He kept crying as there was a commercial break.
The players then walked into a gym and met with some Olympic players and Jillian then told America that it was important to meet Olympians that had a goal and went to great lengths to achieve their desires. The Biggest Loser players then started to train with the Olympic players. The Biggest Loser players told America that it was insane to workout with the Olympians because of the insane good shape they were. Koli then was boxing with Bob Harper and a bag while Bob told America that if the player goes below the red line, they went home right away. One by one the players told America that the training was really hard and like nothing they ever did before. Speedy, the Olympian told The Biggest Loser players that they worked out really hard and was an inspiration. Bob then told America he saw sadness in the eyes of Koli. Bob then was seen speaking with Koli and said that he needed to work on himself and Bob went on to tell America that this was a turning point for Koli and this was when he needed to start thinking about himself.
Allison then spoke of the pop challenge and introduced Olympian J.R. Celski who was competing in 3 different Olympic events. J.R. then went on to show a severe scar he had andhow he bounced back to still be in the Olympics. Allison then showed them they had to make 500 trips on a slide board. The slide board was about two feet wide and seven feet long. The players had to push themselves sideways and do it back andforth 500 hundred times. There was going to be top three spots just like in the Olympics. Allison did not tell them what the prizes would be, other than an advantage at the challenge. Melissa was winning and going strong until Sam pulled up and almost caught up. Melissa fell down and then Sam passed her to take first prize. Melissa came in 2nd place to receive the silver prize. The bronze prize to represent 3rd place was won by Sunshine. When she did that her Dad went nuts cheering.
The players were then seen walking outside in the hills with mountains as a backdrop. The were in what was called the “Garden of the Gods”. Kelly UnderKofler was there to greet them she was in the para Olympics for the third time and spoke of her disability of only having one arm. She said that they had to overcome challenges also. The players were then shown how they were going to shoot a laser gun at a target. Each player had a target with a set of lights above their name. Then the winners of the slide challenge were told the prize they won was to be able to hit the target to light up the target. The winners of the pop challenge were told they could “hit” a target based on the prize won. Sunshine assigned her bronze hit to Sam and Melisssa assigned her Silver hits to Sam also. Sam then gave all three of hits hits back to Sunshine and Melissa. The challenge was then evened out because the players that had the advantage negated that advantage by only giving the points to each other. The prize they were all playing for was immunity. The contest began andthe players were running around andthen lined up to shoot the targets. They found it difficult to sight in with their heavy breathing from running. Melissa was knocked out and then Miggy and then Daris. Michael was then eliminated followed by Sunshine and Koli and then Sam. The players were getting tired as they had to run one lap in between each shot. The pace slowed down and Ashley looked like she might win because she did not have a bad knee but came in third place. The final lap had O’Neal and Darrel
with Darell telling America he felt great and had a strength he has not had in years. Both O’Neal and Darell got to the firing line at the same time to fire the last shot which would determine who would win immunity. The last shot fired was close, but the victor of the match turned out to be O’Neal. Sunshine, his daughter, ran up to him and gave him a big hug and Allison said the next time she would see them would be at the weigh in.
Back in California Bob Harper took the players to a 24Hour Fitness and introduced them to what 24Hour Fitness calls boot camp. Bob Harper told the players they were back at sea level and this last chance workout should be easy. Miggy told America that she was going to give this workout all that she had and then give it all that she did not have. Bob Harper then told the players that the boot camp class was over and now the last chance workout was really about to begin. This is when the sweat started to pour and the grunts and groans started. Playerswere standing on there arms with their feet on walls. Michael then said he has to lose 17 pounds to break The Biggest Loser record of fastest 100 pounds lost. Bob then went on to show O’Neal how to train on a bosu ball. Bob said that the smile of accomplishment on O’Neal’s face was what The Biggest loser Ranch was all about. Bob Harper told America that giving the players back control of their body was what the show was all about.
Next e were at the weigh in and Allison told the players that there would be two players sent home and the one below the red line would leave the campus immediately. The weigh in was to be as singles and not as teams. The results were as follows:
O’Neal: 333 / 325 lost 8 pounds. 2.40% He had immunity, so it did not matter.
Michael: 443 / 432 lost 11 pounds. He did not break the 100 pound record, but he did have 2.48%.
Stephanie: 225 / 221 lost 4 pounds. 1.78%
Sunshine: 245 / 239 lost 6 pounds. 2.45%
Koli: 335 / 326 lost 9 pounds. 2.69%
Andrea: 262 / 255 lost 7 pounds. 2.67%
Darrell: 343 / 338 lost 5 pounds. 1.46%
Sam: 310/ 298 lost 12 pounds. 3.87%
Sherry: 180 / 177 lost 3 pounds. 1.67%
Ashley: 317 / 311 lost 6 pounds. 1.89%
Daris: 281 / 274 lost 9 pounds. 3.18%
Cheryl: 194 / 191 lost 3 pounds. 1.55%
Miggy: 206 / 199 lost 7 pounds. 3.40%
Lance: 314 / 305 lost 9 pounds. 2.87%
Melissa: 198 / 199 GAINED 1 pound.
Melissa whined about gaining a pound as soon as she realized that she lost and was going to be sent home. She said she would see them back at the finale and she would be her goal weight. She told Lance that he had to get below 250 pounds before he came home. She told Lance he had to stay focused and he should not follow her home. The person that fell below the red line and was sent home immediatly on February 9 2010 was Melissa. Melissa walked out of the gym and the two players that were facing elimination were Cheryl and Darrell. Allison then said that since this was olympic week there would be no vote, there would be a challenge and the one who won the olympic challenge would be the one to stay. The player that lost the head to head challenge would be sent home right away.
The players went outside and there were two mini olympic torches and each of the two players facing elimination were standing near a torch. The players had the torch on their head and the one that balanced it the longest would be the one to remain on the ranch. The players had to croutch and Darrell was at a disadvantage because of his knees. He was almost in tears from the pain and then we learned that the elimaination of those below the yellow line would be continued till next week.
The Biggest Loser Transformation Moment started with scences of Melissa thanking Bob Harper for all of his help. She went from 233 pounds to 175 pounds for a total loss of 58 pounds. She said that when she got home it “was just me” and it was a struggle to implement the new lifestyle. She decided to take up boxing and do it often. Melissa said her struggle with her weight was real and then the show ended.

Honestly I hate this program because I feel that these people are irresponsible for their actions and just needs some lazy excuse for them to return their body to shape.
I am so bored with this season. People are more sensitive than ever and the drama is annoying.
Editor Comment: WE AGREE!
