How To Lose The Last 20 Pounds

When you are trying to lose weight you must realize that not everyday is going to be a day of weight loss. Some days you will think you are doing it all right and the next trip to the scale you are shocked to realize you gained weight. There will be days you will see results and you will tend to get discouraged. The point I want to make clear here is that losing weight is not and you should not let it all be scale based.

Even if you go through a period of minimal pounds on the scale being lost you need not despair. If you are truly doing what needs to be done you will be losing inches off of your waistline. As you progress in your attempt to lose weight you will become healthier and that health improvement is what weight loss really needs to be about. If you are trying to lose 20 pounds do not give up when the scale seems to be fighting back. The whole point about weight loss should be perceived as a health gain and not about pounds being lost. If you choose to be healthy the weight will get lower and your health will improve.

Do not get discouraged when the time comes that you are having a hard time to lose some weight. If you just keep plugging it will all happen for you one day in the not too distant future. By not giving up on yourself you are bound to succeed once you realize your only competition is yourself. If you need some encouragement for the final push, eDiets is a great place to go. Whatever you do just give yourself a break and chill. Just keep plugging away and do not give up.

Candy? Diet? Everyday is a Battle For The Weight Loss

Everyday is a challenge for me.  I never before realized how many times a day food comes into my realm of choices that have to be made.  Some days I am offered candy and pastries and other sorts of food that do little but expand the waistline.  Today was one of those days!

I awoke this morning to a dozen fresh jelly donuts on the kitchen table that were beckoning me.  When I got to work there were candies piled in the break room and pizza in the afternoon.  All of these choices came at me so fast that now that I look back on the day I am slightly amazed that I was able to resist all of the cravings.  Pizza was the hardest to resist.

I have come to realize that even though today I chose to not eat the fat pills I know that it would not have destroyed my quest to lose the extra weight.  Maybe I have turned a corner and I will be able to control my will power and stop eating all of the bad choices so often.  Today was a good day!

As I sit here now I just remembered that butterfinger candy bar stashed way back in the freezer.  I guess the day is not over yet!!!  Losing weight is not the easiest thing I have ever done.  In fact I think I got through boot camp for the U.S.M.C. easier.

Butterfinger? Will power?  GRRRRRR!!!  The battle continues….

Biggest Loser Season 7 Couples

The Biggest Loser Season 7 Couples began tonight and it started off with a bang.  There were contestants throwing up and Jerry, the oldest Biggest Loser player in history, passed out from low blood pressure.  They were the fattest people ever to play the game and it also featured the youngest player ever for the 7 year history of being on American television.  The contestants talked about having high cholesterol, diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease.  Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels seemed very happy together, almost as if they were married, which they are not.  Biggest Loser Season 7 Couples promises to be an exciting year filled with another round of incredible weight loss stories.  Maybe we will even get Bob and Jillian to talk about those tattoos they both sport, but never mention.

To see players drop 30 and 40 pounds in just one week was incredible.  Realizing that those kinds of numbers can’t be maintained week after week, it was still thrilling to see the look in the eyes of the players. It was not hard to see early on that Daniel, who is only 19 years old and weighs well over 450 pounds, is going to win the heart of America and will do well in the competition.

The big twist of the week was that almost every team, except two, had to send home one player.  The rule is that is the one player that stays on campus does not get sent home, and then the team will be reunited on The Biggest Loser campus.  If the person that stays on the campus gets voted off then neither of them can come back to the campus.  The goal of the show is to show Americans that you too can lose weight even if you are not on the show.  The overall theme of The Biggest Loser is to show America that obesity issues are killing alot of people every year.

Also on the show it was interesting to see the contestants learn about BodyBugg, which is a state of the art techno thing that all contestants wear on their arm to track the amount of calories they not only burn but also allows the information to be downloaded into a computer.  The amount of information you can obtain from Bodybugg is awesome.  I think my wife and I are going to take our OBama stimulus money and buy into that product.  My wife and I do not get into all the weight loss toys but this is one toy that will really help.  We will buy one in the not too distant future.

Weight Loss and The Beach: From Dad’s Perspective

I have taken the beach for granted for quite awhile and today my wife asked me to go to the beach. At first I did not want to go because I do not get many days off from work and I felt as if I just needed to relax. It was then my wife told me that the beach would be the perfect place to go and unwind. Come and take a tongue in cheek look at why the beach is a great place for weight loss.

While I was at the beach today I realized just how lucky I am to be living where I live. I am very close to Pensacola, Florida.  I have to try to “squeeze” this topic into weight loss so I came up with the following reasons why the beach is a great place to lose weight!

1) Seeing all of the young “hard Bodies” makes you want to walk around holding your stomach in which is great exercise.

2) Being in the hot sun helps you to sweat which helps you drop some of that dreaded water weight.

3) Swimming in the water is great exercise that uses muscles you do not use.

4) Lugging all of that beach stuff from the car to the surf is a great way to get that cardio up and push the endurance envelope.

5) Bending over to wipe all the sand off your feet provides a great limbering and toning workout.

6) Walking back to your towel from the surf gets that heart pumping and muscles moving.

7) Drinking all that water to cool off helps your daily water intake consumption.

8) Chasing your beach umbrella is a fabulous cardio workout because of all the sprinting involved.

9) Rubbing suntan lotion on yourself helps your hands go where they have not been for years. Great stretching exercises.

10)All of the dancing you do when walking back to your car over the scorching black top is also great cardio.

Yup! The beach is a great place to go and relax and unwind and get your daily exercise requirement. I am glad I live near the beach but now since I had such a great time the wife wants me to go somewhere on vacation that has a beach!
