Does Your Mind Stop You From Losing Weight?
All too often people start a “diet” and lose a few pounds and then for one reason or another just give up. Have you ever tried to lose weight and were zipping along on your weight loss journey and ended up gaining more weight than you had on your hips before you tried to lose the weight? I want you to think about you thought process that you had from the moment of motivation to the moment of failure realized.
Does this sound familiar?
You have been gaining a few pounds for the last few years and have tried to lose weight. You have made a few attempts before you decided to get really serious about the weight loss. You debated it in your head over and over and resolved to lose the wight once and for all. You decided that this was going to be your weight loss expedition that took you all the way to the beach in that cute bathing suit. You were now ready to make it happen but then realized that this was the 8th or 9th time you have made this decision. So here you sit, at your computer to ready to lose the weight but this time in the back of your mind you are beginning to doubt your ability to actually shed the extra weight. You are beginning to think that you are never, ever going to be that slim person you always desired yourself to be.
The thought process described above is one that will lead you to failure more often than it will lead you to success. You will never be able to take your body where the mind will not go. The mind is always on, it is always active and it is always in charge of your direction in life. What you need to be able to do is start to think positive about yourself and that you have the ability to lose 20 pounds or to lose 100 pounds. You have to put your mind into the direction you want your body to go. You have to stop approaching your “diet” as if you failed it before you started. You must begin to believe that you do have the ability to overcome the stumbling blocks you always tripped over in earlier attempts at weight loss. You need to start allowing yourself to believe in your ability and approach your eating habits with the belief that losing weight is not only possible but probable. You need to be able to transform yourself at the very core of yourself which is not in your belly, but in your mind. To do this you should look for a good support group that understands what you are experiencing. You really need the support to not only cheer you on but be there to help you gain the knowledge that will make the choices you need to make easier to figure out. A good support group will not only teach you facts about weight loss but will also help you re-think how you look at yourself. With the proper knowledge, combined with support you will be able to break out of the belief that “you” can’t lose weight no matter what you try to do.
So right here and right now you need to stop allowing negative thoughts permeate your thinking and start to fill the brain up with the belief that you can do it. If you believe you will not eat that chocolate you will will be able to resist it. (Most of the time) If you believe you can do a bit more exercise than you will do the exercise you have dreaded. Actually, after a few sessions of exercise you will even begin to enjoy the benefits of a workout.
In closing, take your mind out reverse and start to assume that you can lose weight and that it IS possible. Once you get your mind in the process that it can be done the body will fall in line with your desires. Get your mind right and your body will be okay too.
Law of Attraction and Dieting To Achieve Weight Loss
My wife and I have been trying to lose weight for quite some time and have realized that the best way to drop the pounds is not by counting calories but by healthy eating choices combined with sensible portions and some moderate exercise. During the same time we were trying to lose weight we discovered the Law of Attraction. This all happened long before the Oprah show made the idea popular. We have listened to Wayne Dyer and Ester Hicks and Louise Hay and have become avid believers in the possibility that the Law of Attraction is more than a fad. We have learned that it fits into every decision you make in your life and even when you do not make a decision, it is still there. We have learned that the Law of Attraction has the untapped potential to help you lose weight and make healthy choices in your life.
We go to sleep at night often listening to the teachings about the Law of Attraction and it helps us to stay focused on the big picture. We have learned that by working with the Law of Attraction we have been able to incorporate the belief that weight loss is more about health than it is about dieting. All too often the superficial belief is that if I think I will be rich it will happen. All too often people try to believe that the Law of Attraction is just thinking something into existence. We are here to tell you that thinking your way to thinness is something that can happen, but it is not that simple. To be able to use the Law of Attraction to lose weight you must learn to master the thought process of the Law and that always must start with the basic belief that you love yourself.
If you want the Law of Attraction to work in your life with weight loss then you must start off by not dragging yourself down by your negative thoughts. You must be able to look in the mirror and not be disgusted with your naked body. You must not hate yourself by being overweight. If you desire the Law of Attraction to work in your life you need to start manifesting things through positive thoughts about yourself and your ability to make healthy choices. If you think this is out to lunch then you need to step in front of a mirror while you are naked. Do you have the ability to see your reflection and love what you see? Do you have the capability to see your naked reflection and not criticize areas of your body with negative vibrations?
Until you can learn to love yourself for what you are right this very moment you will have trouble becoming the person you want to be. If you want to change your body you must start with your mind first. To help you lose weight you need to learn to apply the principles that are taught with The Law of Attraction.
The Mind is Where a Diet Begins
My wife told me today that I think like a fat person. When she said that it made me shut up and listen, which for me is a milestone for my personality. She went on to say that I needed to stop thinking about food like a fat person and then made the analogy to a poor person and money. She further went on and said that a poor person is always concerned about money because that is what they do. A poor person worries about the rent and about the bills like a fat person worries about what they are going to do next about food. I was shocked because she was right.
I came to realize at that moment in my attempt to lose weight I plan my meals and my exercise down to an exact science. I worry about what I am going to eat and when I am going to eat and where I am going to eat. Food has become an integral portion of my thought process. She went on to tell me that I need to kind of chill out and let it happen, that I just need to relax and do the things that I know need to be done. If I pack my lunch just pack what is good. If I go to the store just get the food that will not expand my waist. She went on to say, and I then realized, that I need to stop forcing my thoughts into being healthy and living right and stop just trying so darn hard.
Since that moment in time I have come to realize that in order to be thin I need to stop manifesting fat thoughts so often. I need to approach my life as a thin person that is just below the skin. I have come to realize that the body will go where the mind leads it and I have been leading my body to being fat by the thoughts I have all too often. I have resolved myself to stop assuming I am fat and start living like a thinner person. I have obtained the knowledge to achieve weight loss and I just need to start living in such a way that my mind generates positive thoughts without pulling a brain muscle.
Once again I have learned that to achieve weight loss I need to start that journey in the mind. Once again I have realized that weight loss really begins in the thought processes and when those thoughts turn into action is when I lose the weight. I have learned that the body will go where the mind leads it and I am looking forward to the journey.
Weight Loss and The Law of Attraction
You want to lose weight and you have seen The Law of Attraction movie. The is no denying the validity of the fact that losing weight has so much to do with what you are thinking about and how your thoughts are transformed into action. No matter where you are on your weight loss expedition you have come to learn that the major portion of the trek is not what goes on in your mouth but what goes on in your mind.
Losing or gaining weight is a matter of what used to be called will power. The Law of Attraction not only places a focus on your will power but also helps to explain the true reality of dieting, when applied to weight loss. When you are in a proper weight loss way of thinking you will generate the ability to get out of bed and make it to the gym. When you are in the weight loss swing, you will have no problem not shoving a couple of donuts into your mouth when you stop in the break room. If you have the will power you will be able to work miracles with not only weightloss but also fitness. The two will go hand in hand and the result will be the body you have always desired.
Law of Attraction goes so much further than just the area of weight loss. If you allow it to seep into your personality it will change your life in ways that you never imagined. If you were to live the Law of Attraction, and I mean truly live it, weight loss would be one of the easiest inner battles you would ever over come. Think of the entire battle of weight loss of something that is purely a mental battle. What goes on in your mind impacts your weight loss more than what exercise you do or do not do. This is because your mind is what makes your body get off the couch to exercise. Your mind is what stops your hand from placing that chocolate bar in your belly. If you were to be in control of your thinking and be positive minded in your choices the weight would kind of just go away.
So stop beating yourself up for your issues with food. Talk it out with your inner-self and start to be at peace with yourself. Once you and your mind start working together you will then be able to convince your butt to go jogging. You will be able to choose the chicken over the burger and fruit cup over the sundae.
Weight loss and fitness…the journey begins in your mind, with your thinking, and ends on your waistline. This journey works either way, thin or overweight. The Law of Attraction works whether you believe in it or do not believe in it. It all comes down to choices. I Choose Thin ,what do you choose?
Exercise and Weight Loss, Dieting and The Evil Twin
I have been trying to lose weight for years. I read all of the facts about how being obese hurts my health and well being, yet I still cannot stick with a diet or a meal plan. I get started and do great dieting, for awhile, and then one day I start to slip and falter and the downward slide towards diet failure begins once again. I then wake up one day and the diet is essentially over and I have gained more weight, once again.
Does that sound familiar? Is this the story of your life? If so, you are not alone.
When you are talking weight loss and you have an issue that you cannot stick with your weight loss goals, it is very similar to having two people living inside your body. On one side there is the person that you feel is “you” and that person tries to get centered in the good things of life. This “you” is what most believe is the real, physical being that lives and walks the Earth. If that is the case and this “you” is who you believe you are….then who is the other person that eats the ice cream and fails at the weight loss attempt? Is there an evil twin living inside that drags you down the wrong path?
Throughout history there have been many people that had identity issues and committed heinous crimes when they were not able to control their actions. Those very same people did things that they were not able to control and they lost their identity and their conscious reality that propelled them to do things they would have never done otherwise. Are you the same? Are you a person that has a silent war going on inside that is silently screaming for attention? If you are always failing to lose weight there needs to be a reason, is that reason the fact that there are two people living inside one head? Is this the cause for depression in some people?
For the average person reading this the answer is a simple and curt…”No!” For the average person looking to lose weight it is all a matter of not only choices, but also motivation and the desire for change. There may be a bit of a lack of willpower thrown into the mix, but the reality is the lack of sustained motivation, because of the repetitive history of failure after failure. For those of you new to the Law of Attraction let me explain, very briefly. For me to try to explain the Law of Attraction here and now would be equivalent to teaching you the Bible in five minutes. It would not be possible, because even at it’s basic tenet the Law of Attraction is simplistically complex.
On the fringes of the Law of Attraction the basic understanding is that you get returned to you (in life) what you dwell upon in your thoughts. If you fear you will die of cancer, you have a greater chance of developing cancer. If you your thoughts dwell on being poor, you remain poor. If your thoughts dwell upon the fact that the Lord will always give you enough to “get by”, you will always…just “get by.” If your thoughts spend too much time fearing weight loss failure, then you have increased your odds of the universe handing you, yet another failure. A great contemporary thinker, Dr. Wayne Dyer, has a simple and yet awesome response to the fact that you are having trouble losing weight. He has written a wonderful and easy to read book entitled Excuses Begone!
The pages in his book can lift your weight loss attempts out of the past and into the present moment. Dr. Dyer has simply stated that the best way to combat your demons is to stop living in the past, and stop living in the future. A person needs to start living, “in the now, in the moment, in the here and now.” The past is over, the future is not here yet and the only thing you have going for your weight loss attempt is this moment and this moment is all you really need to lose weight.
If you live in the moment your past will not run you over as you try to make the changes in your daily life. If you live for the moment you start to notice the wonders of the world. You see the clouds and notice the wind, and in my case, see the feather tumbling down the aisle in retail store. By living in the now you begin to understand that there is no evil twin, there is no such thing as an excuse, there are only the choices that we make. Those choices are made moment by moment and they form the building block of what we are and what we can become. If we dwell on our failures, failure is what we will receive.
The Law of Attraction is about as simple as to explain as Christianity. It is only when we dig deep and interject our thoughts and our questions does it start to become muddied up. Only when we start throwing gunk into the formula do we start to slow down and stop manifesting the future we so much desire.
As you try to live in the moment and create the life and the body you desire just try to make the best decision right now because that decision is the only one that really matters.
