Medifast Review: Day 19, I Am Never Hungry

It is hard to believe that I have been using Medifast for 19 days, as of today. In this update to the Medifast Blog I have been working on I have to tell you that Medifast has become an adventure that has taken me down a path I never thought I could follow.  As you can see from my FitDay chart above the weight loss was huge for the first week and then leveled off to about 3/4 to 1 pound a day.  I must admit that when the program first started I was afraid that I would be hungry all of the time.  The result of the program, thus far, is that

being hungry every day on the program couldn’t be anything further from the truth.  It has gotten to the point in less than three weeks that I need to remind myself to eat. (LWTD = Lowest Weight To Date)

The first few days on Medifast I looked at the tiny portion sizes and thought to myself that the reason people lose weight on Medifast is because the are starving to death.  I used to watch the clock and think I was hungry, while I waited for the clock to allow me to eat.  I would eagerly await each “meal” and then think the “meal” was so small that I would never be content on Medifast.  I remember my wife and I sitting in the living room after work waiting for the clock to go tick-tock enough times so we could eat our Lean and Green Meal.  That was then, but now in just 19 short days my entire relationship with food has changed. It has become so that if I did not set my timer on my iPhone, I would forget to eat at the prescribed time, which is almost as bad as not eating at all.  It makes me wonder why such a fine organization like Medifast has not developed some sort of iPhone or Blackberry app.

What I have learned in just a short time is that I was not only eating the wrong food choices, I was eating way too much.  In fact as I look back on my previous choices my mind always wanders back to eating at Subway sandwich shops.  I used to think that I was doing really well in my choices and got frustrated why weight loss had to be so dang slow.   I used to ALWAYS eat a 12″ chicken sandwich and baked chips with water all the while thinking I was doing great by only eating 900 calories for lunch.  Looking back on it through the prism of eating Medifast it is realized that I just did not know what I was doing.  The reason I say this is because with ALLof the Medifast meals, with the Lean and Green Meal, I always eat less than 1,000 calories each and every day, while never being hungry!

I know that I can’t exist on the low calories from Medifast for the rest of my life and I know there is always the risk of gaining all of my weight back, but that is not going to be what happens to me.  The reason I say this is because my body and my mind are currently in the phase of existence where losing weight is the priority.  Right now the goal is to have a calorie deficit each and every day so that one day in the near future I will have a body that is 190 pounds.  Once I reach that goal I will still follow the overall path of Medifast because I really think the learning curve has been too big to just ignore.  There is no way that I can go back to burgers and fries and pizza and other daily food choices, that were overall completely horrible.

I am not saying that I will never have a burger again because that would be foolish.  I love pizza too much to forsake it forever but right here and right now I am in the mode to shed the sum total of all my past choices that have piled up in the form of my being morbidly obese.  What I am saying is that when the day comes and it is time for me to resume a more normal way of eating I know that I just can’t go back.  I know that being thin has been a dream of mine for years and to just go back to being fat is one choice that I will never choose.  I have learned that being thin is a choice that is made one mouthful at a time.

What Medifast has done for me is that it has opened my eyes to understand that the combination of nutrients is so much more important than just the number of calories that are eaten, and that combination is what Medifast includes in their meal program. That combination is what keeps a person feel full and that combination is what has helped me finally face my demons that weight loss does not have to be impossible for me.  I have achieved weight loss with Medifast and that weight loss is what will continue into the future, until the day I will only be concerned with weight maintenance.

On day # 19 of using Medifast I must tell you that it does exactly what it says it will do.  Medifast helps a person lose weight, but more importantly it helps a person understand their relationship with food and all of the emotions that are related to having been obese in the first place.  Does Medifast work?  A simple “Yes” would answer the question, but the reality of losing weight with Medifast can only be experienced by those that have committed themselves to making it happen.

BodyBugg Blog

I have been writing about my BodyBugg for well over one year now and I find the entire process of writing very frustrating because of all the Internet clutter that is on the web these days.  My wife and I have been wearing our BodyBugg each and everyday and we have both lost significant weight.  I have right at 69 pounds and my wife has lost a tad bit more than 40 pounds.  Yet here we are in our thinner bodies and still the world ignores the success of this great weight loss tool that is available for the masses.  In an attempt to help empower people we have created an entire section here on our site dedicated to nothing but our BodyBugg  journey.  In effect I think we have created a BodyBugg blog because you will not find another site on the web that has a more extensive library of feelings on the subject.

Since we have had this BodyBugg blog sort of take shape out of nothing more than a product review we have grown to appreciate what BodyBugg can and will do for a person that hopes to lose weight.  Now that I am almost 70 pounds thinner than I was a year ago I feel like a new person.  I look in the mirror and I see a thinner face and I look at my stomach and it is no longer the round lump that frustrates me.  At the expense of being crude I must say that I can once again look down over my chest and see my penis directly for the first time.  Being able to do that not only is amazing to me, it is refreshing.  It had been so long hidden by my pot-belly that I feel as if I now have a new and healthy lease on my life.  I see all of these changes in my life through my health and my energy level and motivation and also my physical abilities…that I quite possibly think that not only did BodyBugg wake me up, but it actually may have saved my life.

What I want to say to whomever may be reading these words that BodyBugg is the real deal. BodyBugg is not some flash in the pan nonsense that is like all of the other scams that are available on the web.  The part that frustrates me is that there are so many people and companies selling crap to the all too eager people looking for a quick fix.  I currently spend way too much time writing on this blog because I have always had a passion and a love for writing.  The problem with the web today is that there are many things that a person could spend their money on that are simply crap.  The are weight loss scam products all over the web that create so much “static” that truly effective products like BodyBugg get lost  in the clutter.  So as I try to write to help convince people just like you as to the BodyBugg effectiveness…you intelligently only look at it with a discerning and overly critical glance.

I could write about anything on the web and yet I have written hundreds of articles on how BodyBugg has been a portion of our life.  I chose BodyBugg because it is not only effective, it is only one of two products I have discovered that are not only effective, but works and works really, really well.  The downside of me writing about BodyBugg is that you, as the reader must understand that BodyBugg is not some magic bullet that you will wear and lose weight.  In actuality, BodyBugg will not CAUSE you to lose one gram of weight.  BodyBugg is a weight loss tool that you can use, but unless you are willing to use the information that it provides, you will see no results whatsoever.

BodyBugg is simply a tool that a person can wear that provides information to the wearer.  What the wearer does with that information is what matters.  If you wear your BodyBugg and do not make any changes in your life, you will remain fat.  Yes…I said it..I used the “F” word!  If you do not make changes in your life you will never be able to break the chain in your life and lose the weight that is silently overtaking every portion of your life.  If you are like I was one year ago being fat is an issue that has been spreading into my closet, my bedroom, my workplace and deeply into the thoughts that weighed me down for so long.  What I hope to accomplish with this BodyBugg blog is that if you do not make a change, you too will be like some many others and die or have a heart attack.  If you do not make a change you run a really good chance of becoming diabetic and having heart issues and artery issues and taking a boatload of prescriptions everyday.

As you scour the web looking for some miracle weight loss aid that will make the weight just disappear you may die a premature death before that day comes!  The big change that BodyBugg can do for you is make you aware of how much junk you are eating.  You will soon see that in the course of you day your body may only burn 2,000 calories (without exercise) and yet you go eat lunch a a fast food place and in one meal eat 1,900 calories on a burger, large fries and a soda, with a refill.  Doubt me?  Click on the link and see for yourself on the official McDonald’s website:

McDonald’s USA Nutrition Facts for Popular Menu Items

If you checked out the link you should be shocked at what you saw.  Not only are you slowly eating yourself into an early grave, you are teaching your children the same thing which is creating and endless cycle of obesity.  The only thing that woke me up is the fact that I was wearing my BodyBugg and by using it as directed I had to concentrate on what I was eating everyday.  By wearing my BodyBugg I was awakened to all of the crap I had been putting into my body day in and day out.  That is what BodyBugg did for me and if you do not wake up….your daily routine will not only cause you to grow sickly, you are passing it on to all those around you.

I am not some nut job conservationist or vegetarian or anything like that.  I am just some guy that works in retail where I am not appreciated for all the work that I do.  I am just some guy that struggles each and every day with my finances and my weight.  I have children that need guidance and a wife that loves me and I have been awoken to the reality of life and how what I eat and how I exercise has such a great impact on my life.  What this “guy” is trying to tell you on my self proclaimed BodyBugg blog that if you do not MAKE A CHANGE in your life, your life may change for the worse long before you are ready.  The sad part is that when a heart attack or type II diabetes comes along it will be “ready or not” and it will be too late.

BodyBugg works for those that are ready to work at making a change in their life.  BodyBugg will make you aware of the damage you are doing to the only body you have and because of my BodyBugg I have been able to rehabilitate myself.  BodyBugg did not do it for me, but it did allow me to see the information and direction that I needed.  BodyBugg helped me to focus on what was important and that I have learned is all about calories in, calories out and more importantly…the realization of the what I was doing to myself.

If you are like I was and want something to change in your life and have realized that in order for that change to occur, you have to make it happen then I have fulfilled the purpose of my BodyBugg blog.  If you have read this entire article to this point then I implore you to check out BodyBugg for yourself.  Get up and make the change you know needs to happen.  Are you going to wait for yet another season of The Biggest Loser to come and go just sitting on the couch?  Whatever you decide to do I just hope that you realize that it will take some time to make the total weight loss thing happen and I just hope you realize that now is just as good as any to get started!

Good Luck and God Bless!!

What To Expect When Starting Medifast

If you are wondering what to expect when starting Medifast let me be the first to tell you all of the joys and all of the heartaches that you can expect.  First off we need to sort of discuss your personal situation and since I do not know you, that makes it somewhat difficult to be accurate.  The point I am trying to make is that the situation for everyone that starts Medifast will be different.  Some people will be single and live alone while

others may be married and yet still doing it all by them self.  You need to consider the dynamics of the situation that is relevant only to your life at this moment in time.  Below I have listed what I have learned about what to expect when starting Medifast.

Married and doing Medifast together is the situation that I live in at this very moment in time.  My wife and I were both overweight and we tried many weight loss ideas before coming upon Medifast.  The dynamic that we have is that we live alone and all of our children are grown up, which makes living the Medifast life fairly easy and very convenient.  When we are at home together we simply wander into the kitchen and spend the five minutes or so getting one of our meals ready to eat.  Since we are both on Medifast it is very easy to stay on plan, even when we go out to eat.  What we have learned is that we are really saving quite alot of money on groceries and eating out.  Overall the plan is very easy to follow and in the long run it is proving to be more cost effective than eating like we used to eat.

I see that there could be difficulties in a relationship if only one partner were to be doing the plan because with Medifast you are either on the plan or you are not on the plan.  If your spouse or partner were to NOT be doing Medifast at the same time I can see it causing stress in the relationship.  Eating out would be more difficult and the schedule of meals at home would be dramatically altered since a Medifast user eat six times a day.  Also it might be difficult for one lone individual to resist the daily temptations in life that end up in a home that has little to no concern for preventing obesity and eating nutritiously.

What anyone can expect from starting Medifast is to lose weight and for it to happen fairly quickly.  The first two weeks will be the fastest and then your body will settle into a slower pace.  I lost about 18 pounds in the first two weeks, while my wife lost about 8.  Currently I lose about 3/4 of a pound each and everyday.  I know this is accurate because of the validation my BodyBugg provides for me.  The math of the calories is quite simple.  I eat about 900 calories a day and I burn about 3,500.  If you do the math it works out, on the scale, that I am losing 3/4 of a pound daily.

One thing that I never expected to believe is that I can go each and everyday of my life eating less than 1,000 calories and yet still never be hungry.  For the first few days on the plan I thought the portion sizes were tiny and I would be hungry all of the time.  I soon found out that I was not going to starve and today I never get hungry at all.  I eat my six meals daily like clockwork and I no longer rummage through the kitchen looking for snacks to eat.  The interesting thing that befuddles me is that I am eating less and I am much more satisfied with the food I eat.

One thing I do know is that if I am out and I smell a cheeseburger or a slice of pizza…I long to have some.  I love the foods that made me fat but the difference now is that this is the time I have chosen to become thin.  I have set aside this time for the sole purpose to lower my weight, my cholesterol and end the family tradition of contracting type II diabetes.  Despite the longing I have for what my nose sometimes smells, I am centered in the desire to make this weight loss attempt the one that succeeds.  I am not saying that I will never have a burger or pizza again, I am just saying that I have lost 67 pounds along the way and I never want to return to the old me.

Another thing my wife and I have learned is that we shop for our clothing in thrift stores.  Since I have lost 10 inches from my waist I have needed new clothing.  I do not have the money to revamp my wardrobe and I now sort of  just rent the clothing I need.  I use the word rent because I know that in just a few weeks I will be donating them back as I search for an even smaller size. We have also been getting rid of all our old clothing entirely so it will not be easy to just start gaining weight again when this Medifast ride chops off all 97 pounds that need to go away.

Trying to be specific in my explaining what to expect when starting Medifast, I want you to know that the most important thing you will need to make this Medifast journey a success is determination and motivation for the long haul.  If you are currently trying to improve your life by losing weight then do not let anybody tell you different.  If there is a loved one telling you not to do it I would question their love or at least their motivation for saying so.  If you are over weight and and the person in your relationship is not encouraging and helping you there is a deeper issue than weight loss.  Anyone that loves you…I mean really loves and cherishes you will be there for you as you attempt to become healthier.  If someone is trying to stop you and they themselves are overweight they may try to discourage you simply because they are not ready to make the change them self.  If you are ready to make the change then go for it and don’t wait for someone that may die while they are getting ready to start.

The most important thing a person can expect when starting Medifast is that there will be changes and adjustments that you will experience.  You may get constipated but that too will pass. (Pun intended)  When you start Medifast you will think you will starve and yes, you may be tired for 2 or 3 days, but that is simply your body adjusting to the fact that you are not living on empty carbs and harmful fat.  What you can expect is that after just a few days you will feel great and ready to go.  If you follow the plan you can expect to see a thinner and happier person staring back at you in the mirror.

The single most important thing you can expect when starting Medifast is that you will lose weight.

BodyBugg Weight Loss

BodyBugg Weight Loss really is nothing new because the whole science behind it is really common sense.  BodyBugg merely shows the wearer the results of the calories they have eaten also the calories they have burned.  When we use the word BodyBugg we are really speaking of a system that has two parts.  The first partis the unit that is worn on the arm, as you may have seen on The Biggest Loser.  The second part of the system is the website that the user logs onto, which is where all of the data is pulled together to allow a person to use the information.  Without the combination of the two there would be no BodyBugg weight loss.

In the strictest sense BodyBugg really does nothing to help a person lose weight.  It does not make the weight fall off.  BodyBugg does not stop a person from eating too much and it sure as heck will not help you make healthier food choices.  What you need to realize about BodyBugg is that although it is one of the best weight loss tools available today, it will never BE THE REASON for you to even lose one pound.  BodyBugg weight loss is all about awareness and that is something that you will either have or develop.  Without being able to make some necessary changes in your life, you will not lose weight with or without BodyBugg.

If you are looking to lose weight and you are like millions of others then you you may be looking for something that is quick and easy.  BodyBugg may be easy but the weight loss will not be quick.  What BodyBugg is all about is the fact that if you want to lose weight then you are going to have to make some hard decisions and that is where the BodyBugg website comes into play.  Unless you have the wireless digital display, you will only see the vital information your body generates by accessing the BodyBugg website.  Once you are set up and looking at all of the information BodyBugg provides…you will be faced with choices.  Those choices are what BodyBugg and ANY successful weight loss program is all about.

The cool thing about BodyBugg is that it works!  Does that mean you will lose weight?  HECK NO!! The only way you will be able to lose weight is if you are burning more calories than you are eating.  BodyBugg, combined with the website will allow you to track not only what you are eating, but how many calories you are burning.  The simplicity of BodyBugg is that if you eat less calories than you burn, you lose weight.  Eating less calories than you burn is what will cause you to lose weight… and not BodyBugg.

The problem with trying to lose weight without and accurate count of calories burned can get difficult, to say the least.  How many calories did you burn on that walk yesterday?  How many steps did you take this morning?  How many calories did all those steps help you to burn?  If you were wearing BodyBugg…you would know.  I am sitting here right now looking at my BodyBugg and I know that I burned 3,496 calories from midnight to this moment in time.  I also know that it is late and the day is done and I ate 987 calories today using Medifast.  With the EXACT knowledge of how much I have eaten I can tell you the results of my weight loss attempts for today.

3,496 (calories burned) – 987 (calories eaten) = a calorie deficit of 2,509.  For the sake of ease I can safely state that I burned 2,500 calories today which is almost 3/4 of a pound.  Since we all know that to burn one pound of fat, you need to burn 3,500 more calories than eaten.  I can look at my BodyBugg and know that I lost weight today.  I know that the afternoon 1.25 mile jog contributed right under 400 calories burned.  I know I took 12,105 steps which is right at 6 miles.  I know that my body was active for 1 hour and 28 minutes.  I KNOW I lost weight today.

The flip side to all of this is that if I did not know how many calories I burned I would have no way of knowing whether or not my food choices were good enough to lose weight.  The flip side of the equation is that if I had burned 3,496 calories but ate 4,228 calories…I would have gained weight.  Do you know how many calories you ate today….at lunch?  If you were using BodyBugg weight loss techniques, you would know!

What you need to realize is that it is not the BodyBugg that will make you lose weight.  For you to lose weight you will need to pay attention to the information that BodyBugg provides.  That information is what you will need to make better choices with your food and your exercise time.  With BodyBugg you will no longer have to guess what you are doing because it provides all the information a person needs to make better and correct decisions that directly affect your weight loss attempts.

BodyBugg weight loss is all about empowering the individual through the knowledge they will receive from the information feedback BodyBugg provides.  BodyBugg weight loss can be part of your life, but it will only become available if you put in the effort to make good food and exercise choices.  BodyBugg weight loss will only be a reality if you make it happen.

Medifast and Bowel Movements

When we started to review Medifast we knew that we would get right into as many aspects of the Medifast Meal Plan as possible.  One thingwe did not even think about at the outset of this extensive personal review was the correlation of Medifast and bowel movements.  Looking back on the start of Medifast just a few short weeks ago it is hard to believe that the thought of how Medifast would change overall bowel movements in such a drastic way.  Many would shy away from this type of essay but we choose to discuss it because how food exits the body is about as important as how it enters.

First off you need to realize I, nor my wife are doctors and the material you are reading here is just from personal experience and nothing more.  The descriptions below may be more than some may want to read, but for others the information of how our ”poop” has been affected by Medifast will be very important.  If you can get distressed from reading about going to the bathroom, it is suggested you just skip this article.

The issue my wife has had with Medifast was the fact that for the first few days she was constipated.  For a day or two she had some minor cramps and pains and repeatedly said that she felt the urge to go to the bathroom, but could not complete the act.  Other things that were noticeable right from the start of using Medifast was the amount of stools being relieved from the body.  Also, another placid fact about it all is that the stools no longer really spent too much time floating in the toilet.  We believe that this is because the fat content of our new eating plan had been reduced greatly.  Without all of the fat in the diet, the poop, or the stools just sink right to the bottom.

One other observation is that the amount of stool output has been greatly reduced.  No longer are there any large bowel movements and this is simply because the amount of food consumed has been greatly reduced.  Since the quantity of food entering your body has been sharply reduced it only makes sense that the amount of food exiting your body is also reduced.  No longer are the trips to the restroom going to fill up the toilet.  You will need to get use to seeing just a few small stools unceremoniously sinking to a small pile in the toilet.

The opposite has been true for me as I have not suffered from constipation at all.  The reality is true because I have endured a few rounds of diarrhea but I attribute that to drinking too much water at meal time.  I know it is the water because I drink flavored water and the color of the bowel movement is the same color as the drink.  The diarrhea has not been that often, but it has occurred a few times.

The one thing that has been common with both of us is that we have learned to just not pass gas when there is an urge for a bowel movement.  The reason for this is because often there is something other than gas waiting to come out and that should be avoided at all costs.  Also it has been discovered that sometimes when a bowel movement does occur there is liquid waiting right behind the stool waiting its turn in line.  The key word is to have sort of a cautious approach to bowel movements when you start Medifast.

Another thing that really needs to be stressed is that if you are serious about losing weight then you need to be aware that you are about to change your eating habits tremendously.  What you will soon discover is that when using Medifast your body will need time to adjust.   All of the issues discussed above were not painful or an inconvenience in any way, shape or form.  We have no embarrassing stories to share because there really are none to be told.  If you ever dealt with a popular weight loss pill called ALLI you may have had a story or two of your own to tell, and that is not the issue with Medifast.

Overall the big thing about how Medifast has affected our bowel movements was the fact that they were smaller, did not float and smelled really, really bad for the first three or so days of being able to have a bowel movement.  We feel this is because the new meal plan allows your system to sort of detoxify itself.  I used to have a bowel movement after each and every meal.  My wife used to make fun of me because I was so regular, but now the trip to the toilet, for a bowel movement, has been changed to once a day, which is after the Lean and Green Meal.

If you are starting Medifast soon there is really nothing to get in advance to help with bowel movements.  If you are reading this because you are on Medifast we will take some information from a Medifast web-page and show you what we have learned.  Below we have listed some of the top tips to help a person not have any problems with bowel movements while on Medifast.

  • Drink at least 64 ounces of water everyday and try to spread out the consumption throughout the course of the day.
  • Avoid alcohol and limit caffeine intake to <300 mg/day.
  • When you choose your vegetables for the Lean and Green Meal choose from the high fiber vegetables available.  Spinach. Broccoli. Greens. Okra. Cauliflower.
  • Slowly increase your exercise time to at least 20 minutes a day.
  • Set aside some peaceful time for the bathroom, where you will be undisturbed.
  • Do not ignore the urge to use the bathroom. Never be too busy to go when the need arises. If you have to go, do not put it off.
  • Add some whole or ground flax-seed to your meals. (1 teaspoon counts as 1 condiment option on the Medifast 5 & 1 Plan), fiber capsules, sugar-free Metamucil®, or Benefiber®. Be sure to increase your fluids when adding these items.

In closing we want you to know that bowel movements and Medifast really should be discusses because of how closely related the subject really can be.  As far as we are concerned there is nothing to fear with how Medifast will impact on your bowel movements.  We had no issues other than mild constipation and mild diarrhea, which passed within the first few days of using Medifast.  We also want to tell you that the impact Medifast has been on our life has been tremendous.  The weight keeps falling off and it is the easiest thing we have ever done in our long history of weight loss.

No longer do we look in the mirror and see fat people. We now see people looking back at us that we have not seen for many years, and that feels really good.  Medifast and bowel movements are really nothing to worry about…but if they are for you, we have one final bit of advice.

Medifast users may use stool softeners, laxatives, or rectal suppositories with caution; the bowels may become dependent on these over time.  You may need to visit a doctor if  bowel movements do not occur after the use of these products.

Does Medifast Really Work?

The entire purpose of this article has been decided to explain the age old question of does Medifast really work?  To answer this question should really be quite easy if it were to be simply based on the math of the calories eaten.  What we mean by this is that if you were to use Medifast and stick to the program you would normally be eating less than 1,000 calories a day.  In the course of existence the average person will burn more calories than is eaten when participating in the Medifast Weight Loss Plan.  If you had to just base an answer on the numbers, you would not even have to ask if Medifast really worked because the math would clearly state you burned more calories than you ate…hence weight loss.  Sure it is easy to answer that question in the abstract, but if you were asking if Medifast would really work for you, then the answer is a big fat “We do not know.”

The reason we say we do not know if Medifast really would work for you is because we would require you to answer a few more questions.  To touch on a few of those questions we would have to ask the following:

  • Are you really commited to losing weight using Medifast?

Are you ready to jump into an entire new way of looking at food?  Are you ready to look at a correct and healthy portion size of Medifast food and realize that the small portion really is not small, it is what should be normal.  Are you going to be able to commit to using Medifast and not making “secret” runs thru a drive thru?  Are you going to be able to pass up all of the temptations that will pass by your nose in the months to come?  If you can’t pass up the temptations, then Medifast will not work for you.

  • Do you understand the cost involved with Medifast?

When most people ask if Medifast really does work it means they are new to the Medifast concept and are exploring what it has to offer.  This is also when the average information seeker looks at the cost of Medifast and thinks it is rather expensive.  Before you say it will not work for you because it is too expensive, we want you to to refer back to the last point mentioned above.  You need to look at food in a new light.  Let’s say you spend $300.00 for your food per month with Medifast.  Do you realize that the cost is really not that expensive?  If you average that cost out it is about $10.00 a day to eat Medifast.  Since there really is not much more food to buy, it may even have you spending less on food per month than you are currently spending on non-Medifast meal planning.  Sure you will still have to buy the stuff for one Lean and Green Meal everyday, but the truth is that the cost is fairly decent overall and many people end up spending less money on the Medifast Plan.  So if you want to know if Medifast really works are you ready to understand how the cost will or will not matter to your finances?  Will you be able to continue with Medifast as long as is needed?  Will lack of budgeting cause you to have to stop using Medifast? The question you need to ask is not if Medifast really does work, but can you afford to do Medifast in the first place?  If you can afford Medifast, then we refer back to the caloric deficit you will achieve if you follow the plan and that deficit is what causes weight loss.

  • Scientific Proof Means Nothing

We will be the first to say that we are tired of seeing all of the weight loss miracles and wonder drugs that proclaim that they help you to lose weight.  For every diet pill and for every weight loss program there is always those before and after photographs.  You always see them and you see how thin a person you never met now looks that they lost weight.  What we hope to make you understand is that it really does not matter how many people have lost weight using Medifast.  What we hope you understand is that Medifast is nothing more than a tool, it is a weight loss tool.  If you start the program thinking it will work because of all of the scientific proof, you should realize that reason may not be good enough for youto be a success.  Despite the claim that 25,000 doctors recommend Medifast means nothing if you, the individual can make it work in your life.

The final answer to whether or not Medifast really does work must be simply thrown back into your court.  You should not be asking if Medifast works, because it does based simply on the math and the calculation of calories being eaten and the calories being burned.  The real question you need to be asking is whether or not Medifast is something you will be able to fit into your life.  Medifast is really a no brain-er and it simplifies weight loss down to a level that almost anyone will have the potential to drop many pounds.  The real question you need to ask if if you have the ability to STICK with Medifast long enough for it to work its magic?  The real question that you should be asking is if YOU are ready for what Medifast has to offer?

If you order Medifast and stick with the guidelines of the mealplan you should see a major change in your body the very first week and month.  If you see the changes will you be able to continue?  Will you be able stay the course?  If you start Medifast and ignore the rules chances are Medifast will be a failure.  When you begin Medifast and follow the rules, you should lose weight.  You should lose more weight in the first two weeks than you have lost in the last 3 months.

So stop asking if Medifast works and start asking if you think you are strong enough to let Medifast into your life and then let it do what it needs to do.  If you are ready then Medifast will be ready.  In closing we really just want to answer your question as t0 whether or not Medifast really does work.  We can answer that with a one word answer.

YES, but only if you are ready.

Medifast Review: Day 15

I have been writing some Medifast reviews for a couple of weeks now and I thought I would just spend a moment to recap not just what I have done on the scale, but how I feel about the whole process so far.  I have been using Medifast for 15 days and I must admit that it has been fairly easy but has been a large learning curve.  What I mean by the learning curve is that there have been a few major breakthroughs for myself and my relationship with food.  I must admit that I was a food addict and I had an affair with food that went so deep that I was not even aware that it was there.  I write this Medifast review straight from the heart.

I must admit that before I started using Medifast I would always have to eat until I was really full.  If I ate at a buffet I would literally not stop eating until I was stuffed.  I used to think that in order to be full I had to eat and eat and eat until there was just no room left for even one spoonful.   If I ate at home I would always go back for seconds and eat until either the food was gone, or I was overly full.  The interesting thing about all of this was that even after a big meal I would be back in the kitchen looking for a snack.  With all I had been eating I still did not have the energy, nor the will power to get up and get some exercise.  The opposite was true as I really just wanted to sit around and watch TV or just do nothing.

The first day I was using Medifast and I saw the portion size of the food, I thought I was always going to be hungry.  I remember looking at the pile of meals that was laid out for the upcoming month and I thought no way could that food be enough.  I thought that I would one day have to write and tell the world what a disaster the Medifast Meal Plan was for me.  I thought that the reason anyone lost weight on Medifast was because they were starving to death!

What I have learned about Medifast in the short time is that I now understand that I have an addiction to food.  I feel like I have awoken from a long and deep sleep because I had no control of the amount of food I aways thought I had to have.  I remember eating out at Subway thinking I was doing really well on my calories, eating 700 calories for lunch.  Now that I am using Medifast daily my calorie intake really amazes me.  I now eat less than 900 calories a day and yet I am never hungry.  I eat every few hours and I have resorted to setting my phone’s alarm to ring so as to remind me to eat, as food is no longer the big priority.

Since I have started to use Medifast I have been able to detach myself from having to just eat for the sake of eating.  I know I have limits and boundaries as to how much I eat and I now understand that taking control of the calories is what is important for me to lose weight.  Because of Medifast I know that I had an unhealthy relationship with food.  I know that I have the internal power and the internal ability to eat better and to eat less.  Overall, because of Medifast I have started to regain control of my life.

Sure I could try to dazzle you with a statement of how many pounds I lost and how fast I lost them, but that is not my intention here.  What I hope you can understand about Medifast is that it has awoken me to the reality of how out of control my eating habits were.  I know I can’t live on Medifast forever and I know I can gain all my weight back again, but I do not think that is going to happen.  I have worked too hard to be here and I ain’t going back.

Overall I must give a positive review to Medifast because this is the program that has worked very well for me.  In closing I just want you to understand that because of Medifast I know I have an issue with food and overeating.  I know that it is there and chances are I may have those issues forever.  The point of this entire article is to pinpoint the fact that because I started Medifast I now know that my relationship with food is unhealthy and that relationship is what I need to keep working on.  Medifast has worked very well for me and because of that and the reasons listed above, I give a Medifast review that is nothing but good.

If you are looking to lose weight than I suggest you too check out Medifast because chances are that if it could do this for me in just two weeks…imagine what my world will be like in two months!  Medifast is great, Medifast works!

Medifast Review: Day 13, We Ate Out Today

My wife and I have been on Medifast for 13 days now and I am thrilled to be able t0 report a review of Medifast being a success.  I weighed myself in this morning and I have lost a total of 17 pounds which is more than I have ever been able to lose in my entire life, for the same time frame.  I can say that the plan has had moments of temptations and desires to wander from eating the Medifast way, but overall looking at myself in the mirror has made it all worth the effort that I have put forth.  Today was a first for us because it is the only time we have eaten out and yet we were able to still stick to the weight loss plan.  I am thrilled to be able to provide this Medifast review to you not only because we were able to lose weight, but because we ate out today and had a great time doing so!

To recap our dieting success today we took a page from some of our TV heroes and ordered what we wanted and paid close attention to what we were getting.  This also was the first time that we ate our Lean and Green meal so early in the day, but here it is late at night and I just had a Medifast shake to top off the day, and all is well.  To provide a brief recap of how we were able to follow the Medifast guidelines while eating out we just ordered a proper size steak with a salad and vegetable.  As we ordered it we were very precise as to how we wanted the food prepared and the rest was easy.  It was really quite simple despite all of the trepidation we had before we entered.

Looking back on the last couple of weeks I will tell you that overall the Medifast Meal Plan required an adjustment period for about three days but after that we have realized that to eat this way really just simplifies our life.  We save money because we have eaten out much less and during the week there are not quick bites to eat between clients, as all of our Medifast Meals are planned well in advance.  The easy planning is what makes me want to shout to you how easy it is to stay on course.

If you are sitting there thinking about whether or not Medifast will work for you let me be the first to tell you that if you can wrap your head around an entire new concept of eating food, you will be just fine.  If you are ready to open up your thought process to the reality that you have an emotional issue with food…then you may be a perfect candidate for Medifast.  If you have tried the fad diets and the diets and the exercise and then more diets and have just watched your weight fluctuate up and down, then maybe this review needs to grab a hold of you to get your attention.  I wish I could reach through this monitor and tell you that Medifast has been the easiest way I have ever lost weight.

I know I have a bunch more pounds to lose but I feel as if Medifast is allowing me to simply “reboot” my weight.  I feel empowered because one day soon I will be the waist size I have longed for and I will continue on with the healthy body and lifestyle that Medifast has shown me how to achieve.  I have quickly realized that it feels wonderful to be thinner and I will never go back to what I was just two weeks ago.  With the help of Medifast I feel as if I have awoken from a long sleep and I am ready to make permanent weight loss a reality.

I could write on and on about this Medifast review but I just want to end this quickly by telling you that Medifast has worked very well for my wife and I and we now feel empowered to just keep on losing the weight.  Overall Medifast is cost effective, time saving and worthwhile simply because it works so well.  My wife and I will end this Medifast review with a simple double thumbs up!

How Does Medifast Taste?

Answering a question as large as How does Medifast taste requires an understanding of what is really being asked.  There are many variables that go into any food product and to lay down a blanket statement for the catalog of Medifast foods would not give the product line the justice it deserves.  If you ask how does Medifast taste you must realize what is really being questioned.

When I started thinking about Medifast I was more concerned with things like cost and portion size than I was with the general question of taste.  I expected that I was not going to like some of the selections while really enjoying others.  It is odd to me that now that I am using Medifast that many of my friends question me as to whether or not I enjoy the food.

Now that I have eaten many of the selections available I have the ability to answer the question of how the food tastes, but before I do I want to add one more word to the question.  The question that most are really asking is “How does the food taste” with the word overall being added at the end.

I have read many stories that have said you should not expect much from the taste and that you should not get your hopes up too high, but I really must disagree.  I can say that overall the flavor is not that bad.  I really enjoy the shakes and the soups. Since I have never really been an oatmeal fan I do not favor those meals all that much.  I will say that I have not had one meal yet that I do not like.  I have not had one meal yet that I would not willingly choose to eat another time.

My answer to the question of “How does the food taste?” is that overall the food is pretty good.  I enjoy some more than others and I have no regrets for anything I have eaten.  Sure there was a learning curve as I started to add condiments, but as I look at the selection on my counter I am content with all that I have received.

In closing I must say that I never was really all that worried about how it would taste.  I was more worried about portion size and going hungry.  I must tell you that neither of those issues have surfaced yet for me and I am happy with the program so far.

If you are questioning how does Medifast taste I would not worry about it too much.  I do not know of anyone that hates it and if you do dislike an item you can send it back and exchange it for another. Either way I do not think that the taste of the food will be that much of an issue.

If you are worried about the taste….don’t.  The amount of weight you can lose will be more than worth the risk.

How Does Medifast Food Taste?

When I first was thinking about using Medifast I was really worried about how their food would taste.  I have always been a picky eater and I was afraid to start Medifast because I thought I would just hate the taste.  I remember the very first meal I ate and when I tasted it I thought I was going to gag because I thought the flavor and the texture were horrible.  That very first morning I thought had started a meal plan where the flavors were going to literally kill me.  I could not believe that right from the start I answered the question of “How does Medifast taste?”  I thought that I had made a costly mistake.

Despite my initial introduction to the flavor of Medifast I soon began to understand the role of condiments to help spice up the flavor.  I quickly learned that one packet of Splenda to ANY of the shakes made them go from tasting terrible to tasting wonderful.  I soon realized that the meal could quickly be changed from something that I despised to something that I really enjoyed.  I soon learned that I could make the taste of Medifast food great.

Other things I discovered about how Medifast food taste is by how I prepare them.  I let the soups soak for at least 5 hours and they taste not only great, they taste super-great.  I now add Mrs. Dashto many items and I realize just how far I have come with being able to enjoy the way their food tastes.   I have gone through almost each and every Mediafst Meal in the Variety Pack and I can confidently tell you how the food tastes and that answer for me is that I really enjoy the flavor in each and every meal I have had.

Sure I have my favorites and some are better than others, but overall I think the taste of Medifast food is better than I had hoped.  I am not only happy with the flavor of the meals and snacks, I am content with the texture, which has always been a big issue in my life.  In closing I just want to state that although many describe how Medifast food appeals to them, it will be different for everyone.  My wife, who is also on Medifast, feels the same way that I feel.  She enjoys each meal while liking some, more than others.  Overall, she too likes the way Medifast food tastes and next month we are going to order a few different meals as we continue to lose weight with Medifast.  Maybe next month we will come across a Medifast food we do not like, but for now we both agree with how good Medifast food tastes overall!
