Oxygen Tanks or Running Shoes, It’s Your Choice
While I was at work today I saw an elderly lady struggle to get into her cart that she had hanging from the back of her van. She was severly over weight and the sight of her made me stop and reflect for a moment. It made me reflect on where I am in my life and where I am headed.
I have come to the conclusion that being the youngest in my family has certain advantages. I am the youngest of four boys and I have seen the progression of my older brothers. I have seen all of my brothers gain weight and then lose it and then gain it back again. I have seen one brother have a heart attack (2X) and had to receive stints. I have another brother that became a type II diabetic while the final brother has had issues with his knees for being over weight. I have seen the road they have taken and I feel as if I have been shown sort of a map to where I am headed in my life, if I did not change.
I went to the doctor’s office about 13 months ago and I was almost 100 pounds over weight. My cholesterol was through the roof and I was warned that my blood pressure was too high and I was border line diabetic. In short, I was getting ready to break out the “roadmap” my brother’s provided me for being overweight. I had realized that my genetics were kicking in and I had to do something about the situation I was placing myself in. That situation was actually the birthplace for www.IChooseThin.com.
I would like you to stop at this moment in time and think about where you are and where you are headed in your life. Stop and realize that you are older now than you were at the start of this sentence. You are traveling down life’s journey and you are headed in a certain health direction. You are now standing at a fork in the road. If you go to the left you are choosing to continue doing the things that will continue your weight gain and path to slow, physical destruction. Or you can choose to turn right and start to make the better choices you know will help you defeat obesity and all of the health problems that it will bring to your doorstep in the not too distant future.
Whatever path you choose to take will be the outcome of your physical reality. Whether you are that severly obese person with oxygen tanks or the jogger at the beach, the choice is yours. The future is coming your way, ready or not. I choose to be thin and healthy, what do you choose for your future?

Very well said. Life is all about the choices you make. It seems so obvious to make the choices that are best for your health and well being. I don’t see why people have such a hard time grasping this. Eat healthy, exercise, and enjoy a long and happy life full of vitality or eat junk, be sedentary, feel lousy and enervated and become slowly more and more ill. Not a difficult decision, is it?
