Oprah though is not a good example. The women can't keep it off.

Pilates are the best to use when getting in shape. Oprah though is not a good example. I went from 160 recorded pounds to 110. I am 5'4". I didn't join Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem or Jenny Craig. I simply quit eating junk food and fast food and processed foods. Simply doing that and exercising an hour every day and even lifting weights for toning, the weight came off so easily. It is so simple. Our society wants to accept people overweight and obesity as the norm, but it isn't and it isn't healthy. The key for anyone is to move!!! Years ago, I used to eat one meal a day to keep the weight off. It was so unhealthy. I felt lucky getting to a size 6 but I was always hungry. Finally I just quit eating sugar fattening foods, alcohol, pop, fast food, chips, junk food, and ate vegetables and chicken, and fruits and the weight literally drops off. I am not rich like Marie Osmond or Valerie Bertinelli. Who can afford to have meals delivered to their home. I eat 5-6 small meals a day and so I am never hungry. I love being small now. Sadly I fall in the 2% category of people who are this small and the rest are overweight.

I am 47 and am a size 0-2. I've noticed the Nutrisystem commericials have Marie saying she's lost 50 lbs now---If her top weight was 165 as I read somewhere then she is 115 now. That would probably put her in a size 6, or as you say, in designer clothes, a lower size. I don't think she's anorexic but at her height I can't see her losing much more and not look a little sickly at her (our) age. So far so good for her with a lot of help that I could never afford including all those meals and maybe some minor cosmetic work. Nope, we commoners gotta go it alone!

I think you have some good points Jillian.
