Medifast and Nursing Mothers
You just had a baby not too long ago and now that you see yourself naked in the mirror, the reflection seems more like your mom’s than your own. You have realized that if you do not do something soon that you will become your mother and that is just something that you are not ready to have happen just yet. You are already committed to losing weight but now you are worried about the health and safety of your baby, because you are a nursing mother. You are smart enough to know that if you are breast feeding that what you eat has the potential to be passed on to the angel that has entered into your life. The question that you are now struggling with is one of wanting to take care of your own body, while being able to provide the vital and unparalleled nutrition of a mother’s breast milk. You are on this page because you are thinking about using Medifast to lose weight and want to be sure that it is safe for your baby, as well as for yourself.
For a woman to use Medifast while breast feeding there are a few basic rules that need to be followed for it to be safe and a health benefit to mother and child. Since I only have the well-being of mother and child in concern here let me be the first to tell you that I am NOT a doctor and that I suggest you read all you can about Medifast and then talk with your doctor about being able to breastfeed. The reason I suggest you speak with your doctor about Medifast and breast feeding is because every doctor worth their salt knows how wonderful Medifast can be, when used correctly.
I have collated a brief list of information for a woman that has questions or concerns about using Medifast to lose weight while breast feeding. After the brief list check out the official Medifast pdf file further down the page.
