I feel as though I am eating stale golden crisp cereal. But I’ve already comitted myself to eating this fullbar. I think I’ll stick to luna bars. I’ve lost 40lbs in the last 4months eating a mix of special k, healthy choice meals and lunas and of course working out at the gym and making smarter choices when I do cook or go out to eat. My conclusion I think I’d rather eat a cardboard box than attempt a fullbar again.
I have used them once before but i didn’t care for the taste or texture. It did however fill me up and dropped my cravings down but drink lots of water with it.
I started using them two weeks ago.. and I actually love the taste but I only eat the chocolate ones. At first, I wasn’t getting full but eventually they started to work. I’ve never ever been a breakfast eater but I’ve actually started to eat these for breakfast…(instead of a meal) It gives me energy and I’ve lost tons of weight (I’ve also been working out a lot) I think certain things work for certain people. It’s a good breakfast replacement..but I’ve also come to the conclusion, eating healthy meals throughout the day doesn’t hurt either!
Well, the only way I would say you would gain fat using protein shakes is in case you were slamming them down proper and left, not making smart food options, and not training with enough intensity.
I bought a box at Costco, and have to say they are about the worst tasting bar I have ever had. There are far to many good tasting bars out there to ever buy these again. I might even take them back and get my money back, and I NEVER do that. They taste like stale rice puffs.
I have been using Aqua Full, Full Bars and Full bites for about a month now. This has really cut down on my appetite, and I have had an 8 pound weight loss. However I got so constipated on them that I may have to quit using the product.
I have a stock pile of the product to last several more weeks, but not being able to evacuate may cause me to have to stop. Otherwise I am very very satisfied with the product, it’s the first time that I haven’t been totally starved and miserable on a nutrition plan. Is this common?
Got one word: constipation. Tried these things and they make moving stool a very difficult thing indeed. And I get lower-intestinal cramps with them.
First and last box.
Hey all, it’s me again. Last post was July 24th at 10:57 PM.
Well here’s my follow up. I gave up using fullbars as I found the sugary sweet taste actually made me more hungry than water alone. I have since then kept “flavor & fiber” bars by gnu foods around to fill in the gaps between meals. drum roll please…. I’m now down 95 pounds with ~25lbs to go.
I’ve greatly increased my exercise to Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues, & Thurs and involves 45 minutes of weightlifting and 1 hour of cardio (eliptical) this along with just being more active, eating breakfast every single day and not eating past 9PM. Lots of water too.
I began my focus to lose weight December 18th, 2008 so I’m in this for 1 year and 2.5 months and I’m guessing it will take me another 6 months to lose the next 25lbs as I continue to increase muscle mass.
So here’s my final thought on the fullbars. Try them, if they help you in reducing the calorie intake then keep at it. If they merely fill the need to eat and you still find yourself snacking on salty sugary fat carbs then try something else.
oh yah, I love Coaches Oats. Available at Costco.
Good luck with your journey!
Mark
Thanks for this great post!
I first tried the Fullbar in Cocoa Chip flavor. I really liked the flavor. I purchased the box at Costco for approximately $16 for 15 bars. The price was higher than I would normally pay for such a product, but after spending $260 for 35 days of Nutrisystem food, my price set-point has changed.
I was hungry after shopping at Costco and it was dinnertime. I didn’t want to eat Costco’s high fat foods or stop for fast food on the way home, so I ate a bar on the way home, drank 32 ounces of water with it and I didn’t need anything else for dinner. I drove to Costco the next day and purchased 12 more boxes. I am steadily beginning to lose weight, even though I can’t exercise presently because of a neck injury. I am not hungry and I have lost 10 pounds in 1 month’s time.
I would recommend these to anyone who has trouble losing weight.
this is why i try to make sure that i do my own thing. so i know i will like it.
I saw a small bag of full bites (the cheese flavor) at Walgreens’ checkout section and bought it, thinking it was a great idea. I don’t remember what I paid but remember thinking it wasn’t more than a bag of chips.
Today I was cooking lunch, and HUNGRY…trying not to snack before the meal was ready. So I decided to try the snack, and it was yummy! It tasted very much like cheese doodles. I decided to try only 1/2 of the bag with 8 oz of water (instead of the full bag), and I’m not even hungry. I’ve taken the food out of the oven, and I’m sitting here writing and not obsessed with eating. It really made me feel full! Very surprised. It would have taken a lot more volume of some other snack to satisfy me given how hungry I was. I am definitely going to buy more of the full bites, and maybe some of the other options like the bars.
I need to lose 30 pounds, and if this makes me stop eating so much I think it will really help!
These things do work. I have a sister that swears by them and is in live with them.
Interesting reading all your commnets. I agree with one of you bloggers, we all know what and what not to eat. But the real point that I think every diet…er misses. It’s about taste. It’s not about feeling full or not full. It’s about taste. I want a pill or a spray that takes the taste away. I love food, let me say it again, I love food. Every single bit and I can’t get enough. Taste of good foods wants you to taste more. It’s the crack addict that’s wants the first time rush again…it’s no different.
COSTCO Sells Fullbar $16.00 a case!! No need to order on line!
It’s not the best tasting but it does help in the weight loss area. I have dropped 9 lbs the first week and I don’t feel like I’m missing out! Good Luck to you! YOU CAN DO IT
Yes u don’t have to use website they also sell the bars at ur local walgreens.
I had been considering lap band surgery and i had been trying different protein shakes and decided to try full bar.
I found the product at my local walmart for $7.00 for six bars.
Today was the first day I tried the product. It takes some getting use to the taste, but its only been about 15 minutes since I had eaten it and I am already feeling full. I drank more than 8 ozs of water because of the taste. More like 64 oz of water.
I can tell you without a doubt that if there are 10 positive comments on this product that 9.5 of them are coming from the squad of Fullbar corporate emailer’s that are sending out the message that this product is a gift from God. I know, I was one of them.
Try a rice cake and save yourself a buck and the expectation that this product is going to ‘change your life’.
Just to add my two cents. I tried the coco bar and it tastes great. It did leave me feeling fuller… almost like I didn’t even need to eat a meal. Others are correct though; I think you could just eat a bowl of puffed wheat with milk for the same effect.
My problem is more psychological in that I will just eat when I’m at my desk to keep me preoccupied or something (even when I’m really busy and consumed with work). So even when I felt full, I was still snacking… as usual.
Hi All,
I found the Fullbar at Walgreen’s. They are sell 6 bars along with 7 Aqua fulls together for $9.99. I think this is also a excellent price as they can be used separately. I am alternating between the Kellogg All Bran Fiber bars and fiber drink and Fullbar. I find that Kelloggs has more fiber but the Fullbar keeps me more full. The Fiber One bars taste better than All Bran but to me are as good as Fullbar. I have lost about 5 lbs and have kept it off even without being able to exercise or going on vacation and dumping any resemblance of healthy eating. In my case it boils down to the best price and how easy it is to get it. All three options are working about the same.
John
If I am also in your place I will also feel the same. Having a reliable customer service is one way of assuring the customers that they are legit. I hope they will do something about it.
Hey Everyone,
I’m giving these bars a try, though I realize there is nothing special about the ingredients.
[Brown rice syrup, puffed wheat, semi sweet choc. chips (sugar, choc. liquor, cocoa butter, soy lecithin, vanilla extract), honey, soy protein concentrate, acacia gum, glycerine, agave syrup, canola oil, soy lecithin, natural flavor, salt.]
It’s cereal in a bar form with acacia gum to stick it together. Like any diet it takes willpower to not eat high caloric/fat/sugary food and throw in some exercise. I’ve struggled since I was 12, all due to lack of exercise. The bars I’m hoping will remind me to keep a focus. Today I’m down 49 pounds since Dec. ’08 with 71 more to go to hit my ‘ideal’ weight/height ratio.
Good luck to all!
Mark
Save your money! I tried Fullbar (more like Bull*&%$ bar) to see if it would indeed curb my appetite, it didn’t. There isn’t anything special about it in my opinion. It did not meet my expectations. You can purchase it at Walmart. That’s were I got mine. You would be better off buying the Fiber One bars. They work about the same. You’ll save a few dollars if you do.
Good luck with your diets!
I’m a vegetarian and already eat a healthy diet. But I am always hungry so I eat a lot of food. My hope was that the Fullbars would fill me up so I could stick to smaller portions.
I just started a two week trial today. I really like the taste of the bar. But it did not fill me up. I’m definitely going to complete the two weeks and see what the outcome is. I’ve got around 30 pounds to lose.
Amazing how many posts don’t address the product itself and seem particularly skeptical of anything and everything without any firsthand experience or decide to go off topic and offer alternatives.
I found the FullBars at Costco for around $16.00. It was a box of 15. That is an excellent price considering GNC sells them for $29.99.
Congratulations on your weight loss.
We would also suggest you look at another great product that receives a bad rap at:
http://SensaSolution.com
The Free Sensa Trial Offer is a great deall!
I use fullbar and so far I have lost 20lbs just in one month without any exercise. I follow the instructions and eat salads, fruits, vegetables, and chicken. I don’t eat cerals, bread, or rice. It works if you really are serious about losing weight. I just wish that more people try it before posting negative remarks about a product that actually works. I only have 68lbs more to lose and, I feel great about that.
I bought both the Fullbar and the Aquafull at GNC this past week. GNC sells a weeks supply of Fullbar for about $30.00. The Aquafull supply is longer but I forgot the price you can go to GNC and look it up. Anyway it did what it said it would, I felt full, I ate less, and I began to lose a bit of weight. Remember its only been a week. I am going to try it for a longer time frame I think it has promise. I am sure there are cheaper ways to accomplish the same thing but will water crackers give me the psychological feeling that I ate something substantial? I do not know, fiber pills didn’t help me. I tried the Berry flavor and they tasted great. I was also going to buy some Rice cakes and compare but for now I think it is good.
therre is no customer service and the bars are disgusting! better to buy a box of wheat cereal
Thank you all for your valuable feedback. If you are a fan of FullBar, check out the link below to find out more about our new product, Aquafull.
I got a free week supply and am blogging about it. I’ve eaten them for only one day and they do make you feel full.
I’ll journal each day of the week and see if it makes a difference. I’m combining it with watching calories and keeping an eye on carbs as well. Hunger is my big issue so I have high hopes.
I think your all correct. This doctor is just trying to use another method other than surgery for people who are thinking of doing the surgery. I think he also is aware that even with surgery some people will still gain the weight back because mentally they have not changed their eating habits. So if you fail at this, at least you didn’t put yourself through a long and painful surgery. I think those who are mentally ready for this surgery will be sucessful with this bar and they aren’t going through such a drastic change and spending thousands of dollars on the surgery. I’m thinking of trying this and everyones opinions were very helpful. Thanks!
Hello All…
we all could write a book on nutrition…We know what to eat and what not to eat…We know what is healthy and what is not…They key to losing weight is MOVE!…These bars do not keep your blood sugar level…I don’t know why they have the agave in the bar and sugar too…That doesn’t make sense to me…I buy chia bars and use them before a meal…You are so full!…I’ve lost the 20 pounds and have kept if off for two years now…I take spin classes 4 times a week and use the elliptical…DRINK LOTS of water…Most times we think we are hungry when in fact we are dehydrated…Water also will take that lethargic feeling away…If you can’t drink just plain water jazz it up a little…Lime…Lemon…pom…After the gym I like to make myself a Fiber 35 Diet FitSmart shake… All natural no preservatives…Gluten free…10 grams of fiber and 20 grams of protein…I got it in Whole Foods…Good luck all…. =)
Everything that is mentioned above is true. One benefit of FullBar is that it is something that you do, each and everytime. You carry them with you and use them according to the directions and then the benefit is realized 30 minutes later.
Having a handy supply helps and by having FullBar at the ready will help you win the batle of weight loss.
I’m always skeptical of anyone who misspells “skeptic”.
Anyway, I’ve ordered FullBar through the website and haven’t had any troubles. I received my first box today and must admit that they taste yummy. I love puffed wheat, so that may have sold me on the product.
Upon closer inspection, I realized I was actually eating 150 calories. What’s really happening when you eat a product like this is as follows;
You’re consuming food that consists of mainly expanding components. Notice that dropping water on the FullBar makes the puffed wheat expand. That’s exactly what you’re doing when you drink a full glass of water with your snack. You’re making the snack up to twice as large in your belly. That’s why you eat it half an hour before your meal – to give time for this process to take place.
But there are other options out there that don’t cost as much and don’t involve a hassle. The question is; will you eat them if they’re not mingled with salt (95mg), sugars (12g), and other natural taste enhancers. I recommend a few water crackers before a meal. They are virtually nothing, but will give you the same effect.
Then, there are larger questions; Will you STOP eating when you are full? Will your stomach be able to transmit this data to your brain fast enough?
A major reason some people are overweight, especially in the south, is because they eat past their actual hunger point. Clearing a plate is the goal – not sustaining life. So, if this snack fills you up, does it matter? Two slices of pizza fill me up, but I tend to take a third, sometimes a fourth. Later, usually about 15 minutes later, I am miserably full.
I just didn’t give my brain time to get the message that my stomach was full. I ate too fast.
While I like the FullBar and understand the process in place, I do really believe that much of obesity is caused by not listening to our own bodies, rather than having a larger-than-usual stomach.
To sum it up, I’m going to try;
1. water crackers and a glass of water 30 minutes before a meal
2. chewing my food slowly and fully
AND
3. taking a break between each bite, rather than shoving food incessantly into my mouth until it’s all gone.
I hope this helps.
Ladykwak-
no one is saying that this site is planting anything…and there’s no way that you can tell me that it can’t possibly be one. Anyone can get on this site and make a comment, beleive it or not there are people that are trying to sell products that search out sites like this and make up comments to make the product look good.
As a consumer we all need to be sceptical of these things.
As far as the product, I have not tried it but another site did bring up a good point…fiber is what fills you up and you can get fiber a number of different ways. What ever is more convenient and works for you is what you should use if fullness is what you are looking for.
Happy eating.
If that last comment was a “plant” then it was done by FullBar. We, at I Choose Thin do not “plant” stuff to sell stuff, if this was the accusation.
Some people do like the product and it really is not a bad concept, if used according to directions.
That last reply sounds suspiciously like a plant.
I actually love FullBar. I have never had any customer service issues and used to by via the telephone number but now I buy directly. I think this is the only think I have tried that actually works without making me feel like i am dieting. FullBar honestly does what it says – just eat one and then you can eat whatever you’d like, just less of it. I also have found FullBar to be very convenient. Moreover, I am a frequent business traveler and I am on the road where I cannot always find a healthy snack to truly tied me over. FullBar is something I can pop in my briefcase to do the job no matter the situation – it’s great on long flights where I ordinarily would deplane and hit the food court. Plus, I can eat one before a client dinner and not have to worry about ordering “diet” food and risking embarrassment. At any rate, i really have struggled with my weight for years and I can honestly say FullBar is the best “diet” I have tried in years.
I like the stuff. It defintely helps me cut back on my intake.
I don’t care what this guy says…I’m using it. Haven’t had any bad experience with customer support…YET…..
The GNC .com is a new option, but what other sites do you speak of?
you can buy them on GNC.com or from different sites.. you don’t have to buy from the website
Always check the ingredients. Does it have sugar in it? Avoid it. Same with processed flour, trans fat, or anything hydrogenated. You’d be better off with a good slice of whole grain toast with some peanut butter and a bit of Polaner All-Fruit.
The best approach is to eat healthy, increase your metabolism with some anaerobic activity, and keep your blood sugar on an even keel by eating more frequently but smaller portions. When you focus on making healthy choices, your weight will naturally go where it belongs.
I just ordered two boxes today online and had no problem at all. I suggest taking this route for future orders. I hope product works…I’ve not read too many positive reviews.
I just ordered them today. The recording is very high pressure, and it can make you think you are stuck buying the six boxes. If you stick with it, you have the opportunity to say “no”, but the process took my twenty minutes. You have to be very persistent in saying “no”, or entering the #2 whick means “no”, when the recording asks for you to agree. It doesn’t readily offer the option to decline, but it is there…I did order two boxes-one months supply. If they work, I am willing to put up with the ridiculously annoying “customer service”. Hopefully if enough customers complain, it wil be changed.
You are right Matt, we haven’t tried the bars. We have just had problems with customer service and sometimes we tend to judge a product on how customer service treats us. You say they help you eat less and that is fantastic. How do they taste? By the way congratulations on your weight loss! Sue
They work for me and I have not had any issues with customer service.
I have been using them for 3 months now; they do what they say they do when used correctly. My portion sizes are substantially less than they used to be and I am satisfied after them. I have lost 26 pounds so far.
Don’t know how you can give something a poor rating without actually trying it.
