BodyBugg Opinion and Review

I have included this photograph of my BodyBugg for a few reasons that I hope will drive home the sincerity of this brief article.  The first thing I hope to do in this impromptu review of BodyBugg is tell you up front that I have had my BodyBugg for well over one year, and I have been losing weight all along the way.  In the photograph you see the black strap or armband, with a very well worn BodyBugg unit snapped into place.  Next to that you will see the wireless digital display.  Just for the record I would like to quickly discuss what all of this means to me.

BodyBugg has really become my friend because I feel that without having had it, I would not have lost the 76 pounds I have lost thus far.  Before I had BodyBugg on my arm I really had no clue as to what I was doing.  I would exercise and eat at Subway and yet I was still not losing weight as I thought I should.  I remember that for months I would get up before the sun and head out to the fitness center and do all sorts of exercises, from the elliptical to attempts at jogging.  Despite all of my efforts the average week ended up with a frustrating moment on the bathroom scale, week in and week out.

Then one day I read a comment from a reader of this blog asking “What is that thing on the arm of the players on The Biggest Loser?”  I really did not know what it was so my wife and I started to gather information and learn what we soon discovered, was The BodyBugg.  After listening to the very brief video segments I discovered and quickly realized that BodyBugg could be the needed component to my desire to lose the 109 pounds that I hated to see choking the spirit out of every fiber of my existence.

The cost for The BodyBugg was not something my wife could just pay for, so we saved our money for awhile and we soon ordered one unit for each of us.  We did not have the money for the digital display and honestly, we really did not think there was a need to get one.  We waited one year to get the digital display, and now I wish we had one sooner… but more on that later.  What I soon learned to be the missing component to my weight loss attempts was that I was not recording what I ate accurately enough, and all of the snacks and tidbits I ate were my diet downfall.  BodyBugg, by default, showed me that I was eating way too much food on a daily basis to have any effective or consistent weight loss.

Before BodyBugg I was eating upwards of 2,500 to 3,500 calories a day and my BodyBugg revealed that I was only burning 3,500 calories on a good day.  On the days that I did not exercise I would often have no calorie deficit at all.  BodyBugg showed me each and everyday the results of my actions and food decisions.  The donut in the break room, the bear claw with the coffee or the burger at the golden arches.  Soon I realized that despite what I thought I knew, I was a nutrition disaster and I would have had to add hours of exercise daily to make any dent in my weight.  BodyBugg soon made it quite apparent that my problem was that I was not burning nearly enough calories to have any effective weight loss when compared to the foods I was eating.

That was then and this is now!

The photograph above does not show a pretty, out of the box BodyBugg because it has been well worn by myself. Although I have gone through numerous replacement straps  I never had a problem or an issue with the main BodyBugg unit itself.  Because of having BodyBugg on my arm I now know that the key element to my weight loss has been the introduction to my understanding of the data that BodyBugg provides me.  I do not consider my BodyBugg old or worn out, I consider it to be war wounds of sort.  I love my BodyBugg and despite the well worn look, it is as effective as the day I first put it on my left arm.

Getting back to the digital display, I want to say that without the optional display you need to upload the data and until you do that, you know nothing of the results you are currently achieving.  With the digital display you have immediate results right before your eyes.  After a mile run I can see how many calories I burned.  With the digital display I do not need to upload to the computer, I just see the results all day long, as desired.  I still upload the data daily, but having the data visible to me all day long really helps me stay on track.

Now I walk into the breakroom and see the donuts and look at my BodyBugg and determine that after exercising for 45 minutes I burned 389 calories and that donut is 310 calories which means it really is just not worth it to eat.  Now I look at food from and entirely new perspective.  Now I feel as if because of the knowledge I have gained, I have more control over myself and the actions of what I eat.  I now look at my calorie consumption sort of like a bank account.  I no longer just eat food out of habit, I now eat food out of necessity.  I now choose my food much more specifically because of the numbers that BodyBugg provides me.  I now understand, and have the ability, to to be more discerning over what food I allow to enter my body.  I now understand that if I eat at a fast food place I can suck down well over 2,000 calories in one lunch time meal, which would requires hours and hours on a treadmill to burn off.  I now realize I used to be clueless when it came to what it took to lose weight.

The biggest change that BodyBugg taught me was not the importance of needing exercise, it was the realization of the importance of keeping track of the amount and types of food I chose to eat.  If you think the cost of BodyBugg is too expensive right now there is a sort of half step you can take with a program called FITDAY.  This is where you can keep track and start to understand the relationship you have with food.  If you can’t afford BodyBugg at this moment in time

FITDAY can start to help you understand how what you eat impacts your waist.  Granted…without BodyBugg you will not have any clue as to how many calories you are burning on a daily basis, but with this program you will at least be able to start seeing the relationship to foods specifically eaten and the results on the scale.

The photograph above shows an old and well worn BodyBugg and in this brief reivew I hope you understand that if I could take control of my waistline and reduce it from a man’s size 48 to a 36, anyone can.  BodyBugg has shown me that weight loss really is all about the relationship I have with food.  Because I use and understand BodyBugg I now have the ability to eat less than 1,000 calories each and everyday, and yet never be hungry.  I now understand that if I want to lose weight I need to eat smaller meals more often, which prevents being hungry and fosters weight loss.

After another 30 or so pounds I will be at the weight I want and then will still use BodyBugg to maintain my dream weight.  I still see the love handles and the belly, but they are retreating rather quickly now and when I wake up in the morning and step out of bed, I sometimes have to pinch myself to realize that the thin and slender body is mine.  No longer do I look in the mirror and shy away from the view.  I now feel as if I have more energy.  BodyBugg has not only extended my life, it has improved every single aspect of that life.  I once again feel thrilled to be alive and it amazes me how much easier it is to jog now that I carry 76 pounds less of fat.

BodyBugg has been amazing but in the same moment of exhilaration I want you to be grounded in the realization that despite all I have written above, the act of losing weight was not BECAUSE of BodyBugg, it was because of me and the actions that I did or did not do.  BodyBugg just provided the facts to me and those facts evolved over a brief period of time to educate me in a way that has changed my life.  If you too desperately are seeking a way to take control of your life I implore you to check out BodyBugg because it is by far one of the most singular choices I have ever made that has changed my life, for the duration of my life.  You can do it too if you are ready to make changes in your life and forgive yourself when you screw up.

I have discovered that losing weight is a series of decisions that pile up over time and those decisions are basically what BodyBugg puts into the full spectrum of your reality.  With BodyBugg you will know that your choices are either good or whether those choices are bad.  The real question should not be whether or not BodyBugg works, but should rather be whether or not you are ready to really lose weight once BodyBugg gives you the information it provides.  That choice has been, and always will be your choice.

I Choose Thin…What do you choose?

BodyBugg Blog

I have been writing about my BodyBugg for well over one year now and I find the entire process of writing very frustrating because of all the Internet clutter that is on the web these days.  My wife and I have been wearing our BodyBugg each and everyday and we have both lost significant weight.  I have right at 69 pounds and my wife has lost a tad bit more than 40 pounds.  Yet here we are in our thinner bodies and still the world ignores the success of this great weight loss tool that is available for the masses.  In an attempt to help empower people we have created an entire section here on our site dedicated to nothing but our BodyBugg  journey.  In effect I think we have created a BodyBugg blog because you will not find another site on the web that has a more extensive library of feelings on the subject.

Since we have had this BodyBugg blog sort of take shape out of nothing more than a product review we have grown to appreciate what BodyBugg can and will do for a person that hopes to lose weight.  Now that I am almost 70 pounds thinner than I was a year ago I feel like a new person.  I look in the mirror and I see a thinner face and I look at my stomach and it is no longer the round lump that frustrates me.  At the expense of being crude I must say that I can once again look down over my chest and see my penis directly for the first time.  Being able to do that not only is amazing to me, it is refreshing.  It had been so long hidden by my pot-belly that I feel as if I now have a new and healthy lease on my life.  I see all of these changes in my life through my health and my energy level and motivation and also my physical abilities…that I quite possibly think that not only did BodyBugg wake me up, but it actually may have saved my life.

What I want to say to whomever may be reading these words that BodyBugg is the real deal. BodyBugg is not some flash in the pan nonsense that is like all of the other scams that are available on the web.  The part that frustrates me is that there are so many people and companies selling crap to the all too eager people looking for a quick fix.  I currently spend way too much time writing on this blog because I have always had a passion and a love for writing.  The problem with the web today is that there are many things that a person could spend their money on that are simply crap.  The are weight loss scam products all over the web that create so much “static” that truly effective products like BodyBugg get lost  in the clutter.  So as I try to write to help convince people just like you as to the BodyBugg effectiveness…you intelligently only look at it with a discerning and overly critical glance.

I could write about anything on the web and yet I have written hundreds of articles on how BodyBugg has been a portion of our life.  I chose BodyBugg because it is not only effective, it is only one of two products I have discovered that are not only effective, but works and works really, really well.  The downside of me writing about BodyBugg is that you, as the reader must understand that BodyBugg is not some magic bullet that you will wear and lose weight.  In actuality, BodyBugg will not CAUSE you to lose one gram of weight.  BodyBugg is a weight loss tool that you can use, but unless you are willing to use the information that it provides, you will see no results whatsoever.

BodyBugg is simply a tool that a person can wear that provides information to the wearer.  What the wearer does with that information is what matters.  If you wear your BodyBugg and do not make any changes in your life, you will remain fat.  Yes…I said it..I used the “F” word!  If you do not make changes in your life you will never be able to break the chain in your life and lose the weight that is silently overtaking every portion of your life.  If you are like I was one year ago being fat is an issue that has been spreading into my closet, my bedroom, my workplace and deeply into the thoughts that weighed me down for so long.  What I hope to accomplish with this BodyBugg blog is that if you do not make a change, you too will be like some many others and die or have a heart attack.  If you do not make a change you run a really good chance of becoming diabetic and having heart issues and artery issues and taking a boatload of prescriptions everyday.

As you scour the web looking for some miracle weight loss aid that will make the weight just disappear you may die a premature death before that day comes!  The big change that BodyBugg can do for you is make you aware of how much junk you are eating.  You will soon see that in the course of you day your body may only burn 2,000 calories (without exercise) and yet you go eat lunch a a fast food place and in one meal eat 1,900 calories on a burger, large fries and a soda, with a refill.  Doubt me?  Click on the link and see for yourself on the official McDonald’s website:

McDonald’s USA Nutrition Facts for Popular Menu Items

If you checked out the link you should be shocked at what you saw.  Not only are you slowly eating yourself into an early grave, you are teaching your children the same thing which is creating and endless cycle of obesity.  The only thing that woke me up is the fact that I was wearing my BodyBugg and by using it as directed I had to concentrate on what I was eating everyday.  By wearing my BodyBugg I was awakened to all of the crap I had been putting into my body day in and day out.  That is what BodyBugg did for me and if you do not wake up….your daily routine will not only cause you to grow sickly, you are passing it on to all those around you.

I am not some nut job conservationist or vegetarian or anything like that.  I am just some guy that works in retail where I am not appreciated for all the work that I do.  I am just some guy that struggles each and every day with my finances and my weight.  I have children that need guidance and a wife that loves me and I have been awoken to the reality of life and how what I eat and how I exercise has such a great impact on my life.  What this “guy” is trying to tell you on my self proclaimed BodyBugg blog that if you do not MAKE A CHANGE in your life, your life may change for the worse long before you are ready.  The sad part is that when a heart attack or type II diabetes comes along it will be “ready or not” and it will be too late.

BodyBugg works for those that are ready to work at making a change in their life.  BodyBugg will make you aware of the damage you are doing to the only body you have and because of my BodyBugg I have been able to rehabilitate myself.  BodyBugg did not do it for me, but it did allow me to see the information and direction that I needed.  BodyBugg helped me to focus on what was important and that I have learned is all about calories in, calories out and more importantly…the realization of the what I was doing to myself.

If you are like I was and want something to change in your life and have realized that in order for that change to occur, you have to make it happen then I have fulfilled the purpose of my BodyBugg blog.  If you have read this entire article to this point then I implore you to check out BodyBugg for yourself.  Get up and make the change you know needs to happen.  Are you going to wait for yet another season of The Biggest Loser to come and go just sitting on the couch?  Whatever you decide to do I just hope that you realize that it will take some time to make the total weight loss thing happen and I just hope you realize that now is just as good as any to get started!

Good Luck and God Bless!!

BodyBugg Weight Loss

BodyBugg Weight Loss really is nothing new because the whole science behind it is really common sense.  BodyBugg merely shows the wearer the results of the calories they have eaten also the calories they have burned.  When we use the word BodyBugg we are really speaking of a system that has two parts.  The first part

is the unit that is worn on the arm, as you may have seen on The Biggest Loser.  The second part of the system is the website that the user logs onto, which is where all of the data is pulled together to allow a person to use the information.  Without the combination of the two there would be no BodyBugg weight loss.

In the strictest sense BodyBugg really does nothing to help a person lose weight.  It does not make the weight fall off.  BodyBugg does not stop a person from eating too much and it sure as heck will not help you make healthier food choices.  What you need to realize about BodyBugg is that although it is one of the best weight loss tools available today, it will never BE THE REASON for you to even lose one pound.  BodyBugg weight loss is all about awareness and that is something that you will either have or develop.  Without being able to make some necessary changes in your life, you will not lose weight with or without BodyBugg.

If you are looking to lose weight and you are like millions of others then you you may be looking for something that is quick and easy.  BodyBugg may be easy but the weight loss will not be quick.  What BodyBugg is all about is the fact that if you want to lose weight then you are going to have to make some hard decisions and that is where the BodyBugg website comes into play.  Unless you have the wireless digital display, you will only see the vital information your body generates by accessing the BodyBugg website.  Once you are set up and looking at all of the information BodyBugg provides…you will be faced with choices.  Those choices are what BodyBugg and ANY successful weight loss program is all about.

The cool thing about BodyBugg is that it works!  Does that mean you will lose weight?  HECK NO!! The only way you will be able to lose weight is if you are burning more calories than you are eating.  BodyBugg, combined with the website will allow you to track not only what you are eating, but how many calories you are burning.  The simplicity of BodyBugg is that if you eat less calories than you burn, you lose weight.  Eating less calories than you burn is what will cause you to lose weight… and not BodyBugg.

The problem with trying to lose weight without and accurate count of calories burned can get difficult, to say the least.  How many calories did you burn on that walk yesterday?  How many steps did you take this morning?  How many calories did all those steps help you to burn?  If you were wearing BodyBugg…you would know.  I am sitting here right now looking at my BodyBugg and I know that I burned 3,496 calories from midnight to this moment in time.  I also know that it is late and the day is done and I ate 987 calories today using Medifast.  With the EXACT knowledge of how much I have eaten I can tell you the results of my weight loss attempts for today.

3,496 (calories burned) – 987 (calories eaten) = a calorie deficit of 2,509.  For the sake of ease I can safely state that I burned 2,500 calories today which is almost 3/4 of a pound.  Since we all know that to burn one pound of fat, you need to burn 3,500 more calories than eaten.  I can look at my BodyBugg and know that I lost weight today.  I know that the afternoon 1.25 mile jog contributed right under 400 calories burned.  I know I took 12,105 steps which is right at 6 miles.  I know that my body was active for 1 hour and 28 minutes.  I KNOW I lost weight today.

The flip side to all of this is that if I did not know how many calories I burned I would have no way of knowing whether or not my food choices were good enough to lose weight.  The flip side of the equation is that if I had burned 3,496 calories but ate 4,228 calories…I would have gained weight.  Do you know how many calories you ate today….at lunch?  If you were using BodyBugg weight loss techniques, you would know!

What you need to realize is that it is not the BodyBugg that will make you lose weight.  For you to lose weight you will need to pay attention to the information that BodyBugg provides.  That information is what you will need to make better choices with your food and your exercise time.  With BodyBugg you will no longer have to guess what you are doing because it provides all the information a person needs to make better and correct decisions that directly affect your weight loss attempts.

BodyBugg weight loss is all about empowering the individual through the knowledge they will receive from the information feedback BodyBugg provides.  BodyBugg weight loss can be part of your life, but it will only become available if you put in the effort to make good food and exercise choices.  BodyBugg weight loss will only be a reality if you make it happen.

How Accurate is BodyBugg For Weight Loss?

I consider myself to be a non-employee BodyBugg expert because I have been using it for well over one year now and know quite abit about how it works because of the fact that I live and function with it on my arm everywhere I go.  So, when I write about how accurate BodyBugg is I just want you to know that I have tangible results that I can back up with the reality of my waistline being reduced.  The amazing results I write about on this page is a collection of the thoughts that have been focused by a use of BodyBugg that has been going on for months.  The question I hope to answer for you is “How accurate is BodyBugg?”

The problem I see with BodyBugg is that it is just too darned accurate for most casualweight loss minded people to fully understand.  Although the ease of use is universally accepted, I will be the first to acknowledge that there is one major issue with the accuracy of using BodyBugg.  The issue that I speak of is that it is just too darn accurate and that is the downfall that causes many individuals to not really fathom what it is doing for you.  The accuracy I speak of dwarfs most people because of the inability for many people to enter the amount of food that is eaten accurately.

In the past year I have watched the numbers of my BodyBugg fluctuate wildly in accuracy and all of those fluctuations were because of MYinability to correctly record the information on the BodyBugg website.  My in ability to get the calories I ate on a daily basis correct was really causing a crisis in my personal life.  Struggling with weight loss has been an issue I have had to deal with for many years and since I had to lose 97 pounds, I really started to get frustrated after I struggled with the first 40 or so pounds that were lost.

What I have realized is that BodyBugg is so accurate in what it does that the average person cannot fully appreciate what is happening inside their own body.  Watching the variation of what I ate and what I entered each and every week was really starting to annoy me and I decided that I had to decide once and for all how accurate BodyBugg was, to settle my weight loss problem once and for all.  I had this great idea one night while I was watching The Biggest Loser.  I heard Bob Harper tell one of the contestants that they had to record every ounce of food they were eating.  When I heard that I knew I had to make it happen in my life and I had to take control of losing weight once and for all.  I was tired of always trying to lose weight and I just wanted to be done with this phase of my life.  I wanted to be done with all the dieting and just get it over with once and for all.  I wanted to become that skinner person that I knew wanted to come out.

What I soon realized was that I had to get a grip on my caloric intake once and for all to see if BodyBugg was worth all of the money that I had paid for it.  I needed to see if BodyBugg was accurate enough for me to continue using it as a weight loss tool. Looking into the best way to be able to track the calories I was eating I turned to the Medifast Program. This program was all about eating a very specific caloric count each and everyday.  This program was perfect because I did not have to worry about how much low-fat onion sauce was added at Subway.  Using this program I no longer had to worry about not getting the calorie intake correct because it was no longer an option to not knowwhat the EXACT amount of calories I was ingesting on a daily basis.  What I soon realized was that BodyBugg and Medifast was, and is, a match made in heaven for my weight loss desires.

When I started to see the results of my strict caloric intake, combined with the results I was seeing from BodyBugg, I could have cried.  After struggling for years with weight loss I now know that I am not only losing weight, I have proven that BodyBugg is really accurate and using Medifast helped me prove that is a true statement. I want to not only show you the results that I I have discovered, I want to shout it out to the world!!

The chart you see below is from a program I have on my computer that is from FitDay.  It is a good program and I have used it long before BodyBugg.  The results on this program are on my computer and do not ever become inaccessable to me, if I forget or neglect to pay a monthly fee, like with the BodyBugg website.  I like FitDay because it is always there. I enter my daily and weekly results not only in my FitDay, but also in the BodyBugg Website.  (I have been trying really hard to lose weight.)

As you can see I was doing really well until about Dec. 20th 2009 with the weight loss.  It was here that the BodyBugg started to not be all that accurate and I blamed BodyBugg more than I should have blamed myself.  I struggled with all of my efforts as my new and smaller clothing started to once again get tight on my body.  When I heard Bob Harper utter the words about recording my calories I decided that I had to get real with my efforts.  I knew that I had to give BodyBugg a renewed try because there were many early months with weight loss being a reality.

My subscription to BodyBugg had expired and I had to start it up again to fulfill my weight loss dreams and turn them into a reality.  As you can see I started Medifast on 7/26/2010, but I did not have an active BodyBugg subscription, so I had to wait a few days to get it all in sync and to set my life up for both of the programs to be aligned in my life. (LWTD = Lowest Weight To Date)

By the charts listed below, lifted right off my BodyBugg website, I can show you how accurate BodyBugg has been for my weight loss attempts. On the first chart listed below you can see the results from August 2nd to the results through August 7th.  What you can see on the first chart is that if my calorie deficit is based off of my FOOD LOG, the results would yield a deficit of 2,615 calories a day.

If you can follow along with me I want you to look at the chart and notice that the DEFICIT is based upon my food log.  What that means is that according to what I entered in the computer, of food eating and calories burned, I HAD a daily average deficit of 2,615 calories.  In the past the difference between the food log and the results on the scale were not always very close.  Although the variance was never all that bad or that far off, it was enough to drive me crazy when trying to decide just how accurate BodyBugg really is for me.’

The next chart you will notice is the screenshot right from the BodyBugg website that shows the changes based on what is happening in reality based on not only the results from the food entered, but from reality when compared to what is happening on the scale.  What is amazing to me is that in over 14 months or so I have never had such an accurate result.  To see that the difference in reality to what it should have been was not only refreshing, it was reassuring that I am on the right and the best weight loss path I have ever been experiencing.  BodyBugg is not only accurate, it is a marvel for me to be able to lose weight.  I can now see the “flaw” of BodyBugg was not that it was not accurate, it was, and is just too darn accurate for the casual weight loss attempts of many people.

I will stick to all of my earlier statements that BodyBugg is a wonderful device that will not help you lose one ounce of fat unless you are ready to make the change happen in your life.  Those changes you seek will happen one moment at a time.  Those choices will range from going for that walk and not eating that cheesecake.  Those choices are there to make and for BodyBugg to really be effective you will need to look at the results you are presented on your computer and make some new and bold choices.

The flaw I was dealing with in my weight loss attempts was that I was not admitting to myself what I was eating throughout the day and when I entered the food eaten to the BodyBugg website I was all too often underestimating how much I was really putting into my mouth.  By implementing Medifast I no longer had to “guess” about how many calories I was eating.  I no longer had to guesstimate because with Medifast each and every meal was accurate and there was no room for under or over estimating.

Is BodyBugg accurate?  It may be too accurate, but when you really know what you are eating….I MEAN REALLY KNOW WHAT YOU ARE EATING….BodyBugg is more accurate than I had ever hoped it to be.

How accurate is BodyBugg?  Well, It took me over one year of using BodyBugg and just one week of Medifast to really be impressed by just how accurate BodyBugg really can be!

BodyBugg and Medifast may be a match made in heaven that the two companies themselves do not comprehend

BodyBugg: Water, Wet and Ruined?

This is pretty much one of the easiest articles that we can write about BodyBugg.  The BodyBugg that you wear on your arm is not a piece of equipment that you would want to get wet.  You may be able to step in and out of the shower quickly without any permanent damage, but if you jump in a pool with it on there is a good chance it will be ruined.

If you would look closely at your armband you will notice that at the point where the USB rests in the ring, there is a small rubber plug.  Although that plug may keep out the splash from a forgotten moment or two in the shower, it will do little to protect the unit if it gets submerged in water.

For some reason the wireless digital wristband is water resistant up to 30 meters, or 98 feet.  It is sort of paradoxical for the digital readout to be water resistant and the main unit to not be water resistant.  Maybe this is because there is a plan in the works for a water resistant BodyBugg in the future?

Regardless of what may come in the future you need to realize that at this moment in time the BodyBugg should not be taken in the shower and it needs to stay out of the pool.  If it were to be soaked, it will be ruined because it is electronic and we all know what happens to electronics if they get wet while turned on.

If you should find yourself in a light rain the BodyBugg should be fine, but if you are caught in a torrential downpour, with no shelter or umbrella, you should take it off and stuff it in your pocket for safe keeping.  I have worn mine in numerous Florida thunderstorms and have never had a problem.  I have had mine on for over one year now.

In closing just try to keep your BodyBugg dry.  Do not swim with your BodyBugg.  Do not shower with your BodyBugg.  After a bit of thought there is only one way that I know of that you can get the BodyBugg wet with no adverse effects.  The way that I speak of is with sweat.  Sweat has never bothered my unit one bit.

Although sweat has caused me to order replacement arm bands, it has never caused any problems with the functioning of the unit.  The only thing sweating has ever done to my BodyBugg is cause me to order replacement straps.  I really do not mind getting the straps because I love to see the calorie burn go up while my weight goes down.

In closing, water is bad for a BodyBugg unless it is sweat.  Try as hard as you can to keep your BodyBugg out of the shower, the pool and of course rivers and ponds and lakes and any other body of water you can think about.

BodyBugg Accessories

BodyBugg is really not a very pretty or stylish piece of equipment and the available accessories do not change that fact one bit.  When we talk about BodyBugg accessories we are really only speaking about either the replacement strap, the wireless digital readout or the wireless transmitter for uploading your data to the website.   When you order BodyBugg you do not have to order any replacement straps or the digital readout.  If money is tight you can start your BodyBugg experience without getting any of the accessories.  In fact when you order your BodyBugg you will receive two straps, each one a different size.  Do not think you need to order anything but the basic BodyBugg when you place your order.

One accessory that is often not considered by anyone but us, is access to the BodyBugg website.  You will not be able to use your BodyBugg if you not have a paid subscription that will grant you access to your personal BodyBugg website.  You can rest easy because when you order your unit it will include a six month subscription to the site.  If you are concerned about the cost to renew your access to the BodyBugg website you can check out another article we created that covers this in depth by following the link provided:

http://ichoosethin.com/thinblog/how-much-does-it-cost-to-renew-bodybugg/

The accessories everyone thinks about are going to be one of three things;

  • Wireless transmitter for your computer
  • Wireless digital wristband receiver
  • Replacement straps

Wireless transmitter for your computer
We have never used the wireless transmitter for the computer, so we will not act as if we can review it for you.  We never ordered one because we do not mind taking off our BodyBugg to plug it into the USB.  Maybe one day we will get one, but as of now we do not have one so we will not review it.  It is only our goal to let you know that it exists. You can check out what we are referring to with the link below.  Once you get to the destination of the link below, you will need to type in “wireless USB transmitter” into the search box.

Wireless Digital Wristband Receiver
The wireless armband receiver with digital readout is one device that we do own but waited for about one year to purchase.  We have realized that the digital readout is by far, the greatest asset one can have when trying to use BodyBugg to its fullest potential.  We have provided an extensive written and verbal review of this accessory and that can be accessed by following the internal link below;

Replacement straps
You may at first think that replacement straps are an accessory, but that is like saying food is an accessory for survival.  If you do not have a replacement strap you will soon learn that the one you wear to the gym everyday gets pretty funky after awhile will need to be replaced.  You will not need a BodyBugg replacement strap right away, but you will eventually need to order one if you become a long-time believer of the BodyBugg way of life.  Below is an internal link for this site that goes into great detail about BodyBugg replacement straps.

BodyBugg and Cycling

BodyBugg and Cycling do not go hand in hand.  Actually they do not even go arm and hand because if you are wearing your BodyBugg to count the amount of calories burned while cycling you will need to make a minor adjustment to where  you place it on your body.  For pretty much any activity a person can do, the BodyBugg calorie counting system works great, except for cycling.  This is not to say that BodyBugg is a bust for cycling, because it can work if you just take the BodyBugg off your left arm and wear it on your leg.  The correct place to wear it would be about two inches above the knee cap, with the sensor on the back of the leg.

Wearing it on your leg will increase the accuracy, as compared to wearing it on your arm while cycling.  Although we feel that it will not be as accurate as during other exercise types, BodyBugg is still a tremendous asset to use as part of an overall fitness or weight plan.  The reason for this is that BodyBugg needs forward motion to function well and when you are cycling that motion is harder to record.  It may have something to do with the fact that the arm is relatively at rest on the handle bars.  It is at this point that some people whine about the fact that when you are cycling you do not get an accurate reading on the pedometer, which is true.  I really do not know what you would need the pedometer on the BodyBugg for when cycling… but some people do complain.  Hmmmm?

What we want you to understand and realize about cycling and the BodyBugg is that BodyBug is just a tool.  Most people think that BodyBugg is just to help people lose weight, but that is not the complete story.  It is really a tool to help manage your calories in and your calories out.  With that being said you need to understand that you can use the BodyBugg to gain weight as well as to lose weight.  Actually BodyBugg really comes into play when you have achieved your ideal weight and want to be able to maintain that healthy weight.  BodyBugg merely provides information, it is what you do with that information that will determine how it plays out in your personal weight goal.

With BodyBugg being a great tool to manage your calories you need to further understand that cycling only takes up so many of the 8,760 hours of the next year you will be wearing it.  If you are using BodyBugg and it is only 80% accurate for the time you are cycling it will still prove to be a valuable tool.  You need to realize that by wearing BodyBugg you will start to have an entirely new way of looking at calorie management.  Whether you are using BodyBugg while cycling really does not matter because the real value of BodyBugg is actually in your head.

What will happen to you when you start to use BodyBugg is that you will start to look at your caloric consumption and your caloric burn as sort of a bank account.  I have come to realize that if I work out before I spend eight hours at a desk job, I burn only about 4,000 calories a day.  With that being said I can no longer eat at a fast food restaurant without regretting I went there.  Why would I work out for a solid hour and burn 500 calories to go and eat a double wombus cheeseburger, fries and a soda that will put 1,900 calories into my body?  Whether you are cycling or not…BodyBugg makes you SEE the correlation between what you put in your mouth and what it takes to get the flab off the hips!  BodyBugg has taught me to value what I eat because I am working too hard to lose the weight.

The point you need to understand about BodyBugg and cycling is that by changing the position from your arm to the back of your leg will improve the calorie count greatly over wearing it on your arm.  Granted we do not think it is 100% accurate, but it will be close enough for you to get the mindset into gear to be able to achieve the goals you seek, if you are really ready to make it happen.  BodyBugg is merely a tool that provides you with information.  What you do with that information WILL determine your personal weight loss or weight gain goals.  If you are looking to lose weight by cycling you need to realize that you will be wearing BodyBugg long after the cycle you ride is back in the garage.

Calorie burn is something you not only do while out cycling, it is also done while you sleep.  While you sit at your desk or walk the retail sales floor at work.  BodyBugg is a calorie counting management system that goes well beyond cycling.  If you are looking to use BodyBugg while cycling then you really have little to worry about.  BodyBugg will work just fine cycling, you just need to break out the larger strap and you should put it on your leg as discussed above.

BodyBugg is great and I only say that because I have been using it for the last 65 pounds of weight loss.  It has not been a fast process but it has been an effective and measured process because of BodyBugg.  I am not a hard core cyclist, but I do include it in my weekly exercise routine because I like to do different things.  When I cycle I put it on my leg and when I am done I just put it back on my arm…it is really no big deal!

BodyBugg works…what more can be said about such an effective product that has essentially changed my life through helping me adjust my exercise and eating habits?  Cycling and BodyBugg may not go hand in hand but leg and hand will work just fine!

BodyBugg and Bicycles

We have set into motion many articles concerning BodyBugg because we use it and we know how effective it can be when teamed up with a person that is willing to make weight loss a reality in their life.  We have fielded many questions about BodyBugg and one of the two that is very popular is concerned with how well BodyBugg performs when out riding a bicycle.  We have read many differing opinions on how well BodyBugg works with a person riding a bike.  We think we have an answer that is not only based in reading, studying, but more importantly we base this answer in being an actual user of the product.  We want you to know and understand that BodyBugg does work well with a person riding a bicycle, but the conditions have to be correctly set in motion.

First off you should understand that BodyBugg really needs forward motion for it to work accurately.  Sometimes when a person is on a treadmill or a bike, it may not give the most optimal results.  The reason for the treadmill is simple…let go 0f the handles!  By holding on while on the treadmill you are not only cutting the calorie burn by up to 20%, you are preventing BodyBugg from working very well.  When you are talking about bicycling you need to make one small adjustment in how and where you place your BodyBugg on your body.

Whether you are on a stationary bike, a spin bike or out in the world with your road bike, you need to make a change with how you wear your BodyBugg.   By understanding that the BodyBugg needs the forward motion to register is the key to getting the best results for the amount of calories that are burned.  What we are suggesting to you is that if you are going to take BodyBugg out on a bike ride then you need to take it off your arm and wear it on your leg, right above the knee.  With the sensor about two inches above the back of the knee cap, you will receive much better accuracy on the amount of calories burned, but that amount will still be slightly less than actual.  Overall the placement makes a big difference.

What you need to understand is that when you use BodyBugg while riding a bike, the pedometer function is really not that accurate.  So, if you think you need to have your steps counted while you are riding a bicycle, we are sorry to inform you that this feature will work poorly.  If for some reason you need a pedometer while biking, BodyBugg is not your tool of choice.

I have heard some people say they do not like BodyBugg because of the issue of calories being recorded while bike riding is not accurate.  What we are suggesting is to wear it on your leg as we mentioned and you should see much more accurate results, as far as calories being burned.  What a BodyBugg user needs to understand is that the pedometer feature is fairly useless on a bike, but that is meaningless  because the main feature really should be focused on is calories being burned.

Calories that have been burned is the one piece of information that sets BodyBugg apart from the non-existent competition.  If you are getting BodyBugg to lose weight, then the pedometer is an add on bonus.  If you are worried about an accurate step count then do not use BodyBugg on a bike.  If you want to use BodyBugg on a bike and have heard bad things about it do not despair.  Just break out the larger strap and put it on your leg.

Whatever you decide about using BodyBugg while biking, we hope you do not shortchange the incredible possibility you can make available to yourself.   The main purpose of using BodyBugg should be understood to help a person monitor their calories, so they can either gain or lose weight.  It is a calorie counting / management system that  sets it apart as the most accurate calorie counting tool to be had, in a non-clinical setting.  The important number you should look at is not steps taken, but the number of calories burned.

If you want to get a better count of how many calories you burn while riding a bicycle then just wear BodyBugg on your leg, as described above.  If you are looking to use it as some sort of pedometer for a bike ride, then it is recommended you save your money and do not buy BodyBugg.   That is about as blunt as it gets if you are looking to get BodyBugg for bike riding.

Just remember that if you wear BodyBugg while riding a bike, place it right above the knee.  If you need the pedometer to work while on a bike (Why you would, I do not know) then just buy a cheap pedometer.  So in closing…can BodyBugg work for me if I use it for bike riding?

The answer is “Yes!”

How To Sync BodyBugg With The Wireless Digital Display

If you are interested in learning how to sync the BodyBugg wireless digital display with the actual “brain” of the BodyBugg calorie management system.  What you are doing when you sync the display is simply tapping into the information that BodyBugg has collected and making it understandable by way of the display.

You will need to synchronize (sync) the digital display when you first get it and then you will also need to sync it when you have the BodyBugg off your arm for any length of time.  Another time you will need to sync the digital display with the BodyBugg unit is if the display is out of range for too long of a period of time, which is just a matter of minutes.

One thing you need to understand if you are having trouble syncing your unit is that you can’t simply place the BodyBugg on your arm and expect it to be able to sync at that exact moment.  You will need to wait a few moments after you place the BodyBugg on your arm before you try to sync.  This is because you need to allow the monitor time to catch it’s bearings and figure out what is going on with your body.

With that said, just watch the video below and much of what you need to understand will be explained by watching the video.

BodyBugg and Pregnant?

We have been getting requests from many woman that are concerned about the impact of using BodyBugg if they are pregnant.  We were a bit taken back by the question as we know how safe it really is for anyone to use but after some thought we realized it is a natural question to ask.  If you are pregnant and want to lose weight we suggest that you go talk to your doctor before you do anything of the sort, whether or not BodyBugg is involved or not.  Now if you are asking about how BodyBugg will affect you during your pregnancy you have nothing to fear at all.  BodyBugg does nothing to help a person directly lose, or gain weight.  The thing about BodyBugg is that it merely is a counter of calories burned and steps taken and a few other things also.

What you need to do is explain to your doctor the concerns you are experiencing and after he/she sees how BodyBugg works, they will be able to help you adjust your caloric intake, as well as the caloric burn you seek.  It would be an understatement to think that BodyBugg will be a good tool to help a mother to be ensure the baby is taken care of when exercising during pregnancy.

Just remember that BodyBugg is simply a device that makes you accountable to yourself for the things that help promote weight loss or weight gain.  BodyBugg is passive but yet it provides in your face information that you would have to just ignore to not utilize.  Overall BodyBugg would be great to help a pregnant woman achieve not only a healthy body, but also a healthy weight throughout their pregnancy.

As with everything else in life, BodyBugg still only works when you make the right choices!
