The Biggest Loser Recap / Review January 12 2010

The Biggest Loser Recap / Review January 12 2010 :  The show started off with John talking about his brother being sent home last week.  He said that it was tough to see his twin brother get sent home because it was like seeing himself go home.  Jillian then said that week two has always been hard for the show.  She said this was the week where players had a really hard time to lose weight.  Bob called it the week two curse.

Stephanie was talking to America about all of the aches and pains she was experiencing.  Bob Harper told Mike of the White team that he lost 30 pounds last week and was almost at the bottom.  Bob said he had to work him hard every day and whenever he gets sent home, he will remember what he did at the ranch.  Mike said he was not married and he was not even close to accomplishing anything in his life except be close to death because of his weight.

Jillian was seen saying John was out of sorts because his brother was gone.  Jillian said she beat the crap out of him to break him down so he would open up his emotions.  John said he was over 500 pounds because of a curse.  He said that there was always tragedy around him and he was afraid he too would die.  Jillian grabbed him by the shirt and said he could live and he had to work at it.  Then she handed him a sledge hammer and told him to hit the tractor tire twenty times.

After the commercial break we were in the common room of the ranch with Dr. H.  He said he had the sickest and most at risk group of players he has ever had on the show.  He said that they were all on the cusp of having a life changing event because of their weight.   Patty on the purple team cried when she admitted she had diabetes for 20 years and did nothing about that fact.  Dr. H. then passed out cards to the white team with what he called a “medical task.”  They had to simulate what it would be like for a thin man to carry around the weight he had on his body. Bob Harper then put on weights that were not even equal to the weight that Michael was carrying around on his body.  Mike said he needed to get rid of the weight once and for all.  Bob Harper said he was there to help him.

The next team to have a medical task was the Purple Team. Dr. H. had them watch a video of Dr. H. at their home.  On the video Dr. H. was at their home speaking to her sister and interviewing them about the impact the obesity had on their family members.  The father was shown crying about how hard it would be for his daughter to die before him.  He then said that if his wife died he would be so sad and upset.  The purple team said they now knew what they had to do.

The Red Team was told to calculate the cost of the weight they carried on their bodies.  The Red Team couple said he lost his job diving because he was a commercial diver and had to stop doing it because he was too fat to wear the dive suit.  Outside the ranch front door an armored car pulled up and said because of their weight they were throwing away 3 million dollars.  He then opened the doors to the truck and there was 3 million dollars in cash on pallets to demonstrate how much money they were not going to get because they would die young and be underemployed.

The Orange Team was next and their challenge was to watch how their old unhealthy diet would affect a healthy person.  Jillian then had to analyze what would eat in a day and eat of their meals.  Jillian then sat down and had silver food trays covered and had to reveal each meal and then eat one of the meals.  Jillian then opened up the domes and was disgusted the foods they used o eat.  There were lots of fried foods and Mexican foods and Jillian said that she could kill them for eating so poorly.  Jillian asked why they ate those foods.  Jillian picked through what was sort of a cheese nacho dip-, she had to stop and spit it out.  Jillian said it was gross and they had to become proactive and prepare their food ahead of time.  Jillian flipped the lid over and said you will spend all your time on the Earth in your one body and this was not food.  She said they had to make a change or they would never get healthy.

There was then a challenge as the players walked into a large swimming pool area and Allison said they all had to walk across a balance beam 40 feet long and put balls on the other side.  The winners had an immunity prize and the losers were going to have two pound disadvantage.  Maria did not know how to swim and she was scared of the challenge.  The balance beam was only a few inches across and the players were falling off all over the place.  Each team had to travel the 3.5 inch beam after traversing 40 feet over the pool and deposit their beach ball Maria from the White Team went into tears because she was so afraid.  Players were falling in the water more than they were getting across the pool.  The Black Team was the one that took the lead and the Red Team was right behind them.  Andrea said immunity was so close she could taste it and then after she fell in the water the Red Team caught up and then The Red Team won.   She was so happy she screamed.  Orange came in 3rd place and The Pink Team was next.  Green soon followed while the Gray trailed next.  The Purple Team were next and were very proud of the fact they finished and did not come in last.  Mom of the White Team went into such a panic over the beam that she fell and landed on her face on the floor.  Blood went everywhere and the medics from off camera rushed out to her aid.  She was led off camera with blood coming out of her nose and to an ambulance that took her to the hospital.  Allison then said that since the White Team did not finish the challenge, they were deemed the losers of the challenge.  They were the ones that would enter into the weigh in with a 2 pound disadvantage.2 Day Detox Diet,,,,Kick start your weight loss!!

Soon we saw Bob Harper chew out Mike because he left the challenge and went to the hospital with his Mom.  Bob said she had professionals and she was taken care of and he should have been worried about himself.  Bob said he needed to get some self esteem and winning that challenge would have helped him  esteem which he was sorely lacking.  Next we saw Jillian corner the Mom that fell (Maria) and ask her questions.  Jillian said she had to face her fears and that her situation with the 2 pound disadvantage was as bad as it could get.  Jillian said that her fear of getting hurt is what made her get hurt.  Jillian said that she had to face her fears and now it was time to face her fear of water.  Jillian took her in the pool and had her floating.  She was crying and Jillian told her that the only thing she had to do that crippled her through the course of her life.  Jillian had her swimming the dog paddle and Maria exited the pool proud of the fact that she had even gone in the pool.

The second hour started with Dr. H. show them on a TV screen a MRI of their torso. Dr. H. Then showed them the 3.5 inches of body fat before they saw her intestines.  He then told her that she was sicker than 98% of the people in her age group.  Dr. H. then told Darrell that he was a mess and he needed to make a change or he would die.    Dr. H. then sat down with Maria of the White Team and said she was the most out of shape person ever on the show.  He then told her that she had a 33% chance of contracting diabetes in the next 5 years.  Dr. H. then said that if Mike did not lose weight, he would die.  He had a screen that showed him how crammed his lungs were in his chest covered by all the fat.  Dr. H. said that if he wanted to live, he needed to change.

The Orange Team then was told that Cheryl had an inner age of 75, despite being only 51.  Dr. H. said that obesity and the cigarettes were the worst duo to have.  Her son told her that she had to quit smoking because she was going to die.  Next were the Gray Team and a video of them sleeping.  He showed him that he move 100 times an hour, per night.  He showed them that the fat caused a condition called sleep apnea and that resulted in his airways becoming obstructed while he slept.  The weight is what caused the airway to become constricted and he had to move to get air.  This would result in him moving which deprived him f REM sleep and thus, he would always be tired.  The Pink Team was then shown that Ashley was age 27 and her bodies age was 67. Dr. H. told her that she was so obese that her body could not handle it anymore.  Dr. H. then abruptly told her she was a diabetic.  He said it really cold and it had maximum impact as Ashley just started to cry.  The show then went to a commercial showing Ashley crying on the back porch in the distance.

The Red Team was then seen walking into the weigh in telling America that it was last chance workout and the sweat was just dripping off the players.  Bob said that week 2 was always hard to get the weight off.  Jillian said she would rather have needles stuck in her eye before she would be in a last chance work out.  Bob told the players to get their hands off the tread mill.  We then heard that last chance workout was an all day event.  It was a non-stop exercise event.  Ashley was afraid at others thinking her as weak.  She said she always gave up when it got tough and now she was not going to quit.  Ashley said that she was planting a seed to lose weight and now that seed was growing and she was no longer the weak one in the house.

The weigh in then started with the teams walking to the gym and the awaiting scale.  Allison greeted them and restated how notorious the week 2 weigh in had been on seasons past.  The Red Team then went up to weight in first, since they had immunity.  The weigh in results were as follows:

Red Team:  Melissa 214 / 215 gained 1 pound.  Lance 344 / 366 lost 8 pounds.  Team total was 7 pounds lost.  1.25%
Bob then said that Melissa should just admit that she was playing the game.   Bob wished she would just admit that she was playing the game.  Melissa pretty much admitted she drank water so she would have  easy numbers for next week, by making this weeks numbers a weight gain.
Gray Team:  Sam354 / 345 lost 9 pounds. Koli 374 / 366 lost 8 pounds.  Team total was 17 pounds.  2.34%
Pink Team: Ashley 353 / 345 lost 8 pounds. Sherry 201 / 196 lost 5 pounds.  Total team lost 13 pounds. 2.35%
Green Team: Migdalia 249  245 lost 4 pounds. Miggy 227 / 219 lost 8 pounds. Total team lost 12 pounds. 2.52%
Purple Team: Patti 220 / 216 lost 4 pounds.  Stephanie 246 / 243 lost 3 pounds .  Total team lost 7 pounds. 1.50%
Orange Team:  Cheryl 213 / 210 lost 3 pounds. Daris 317 / 310 lost 7 pounds. Total team lost 10 pounds. 1.89%

White Team:   Maria 268 / 258 lost 10 pounds. Michael 492 / 481 lost 11 pounds. Total Team lost 21 ponds.  2.50%

The team that fell below the yellow line was the Purple Team.  Either Pattie or Stephanie were going to leave.  The Mother Pattie pleaded the case to send her home and let her daughter stay on the ranch.  The Mom
said she had a support system at home and the daughter did not, so they pleaded to send home the daughter Patti.

The vote started with the players walking around the pool and into the vote room.  The vote went as follows:

Brown Team:  Voted for Patti
Pink Team: Voted for Patti
White TeamVoted for Patti
Green Team: Voted for Patti
Red Team:  Voted for Patti

The person voted off The Biggest loser Ranch on January 12 2010 was Purple Team member Patti.

The Biggest Loser Transformation Moment began with Patti telling America how proud she was of herself for proving she could do what she set out to do.  At the start of the show she weighed 243 pounds and today she weighed in at 200 pounds.  She spoke of how her husband went for dancing lessons and they were more active as a family.  Dr. H. then paid a follow-up visit to Patti at home and learned was that she was no longer on 9 medications and now it was much less.  He said she was much better off today than she was at the start of the show.

The show then ended.

The Biggest Loser Recap / Review February 9 2010, which is part of Season 9 began with a review of last weeks events.  The playback was shorter than most weeks when Allison interrupted and said that the players were going to do something never before done on any season of  The Biggest Loser.  This episode the players were all heading to the Olympic Training Camp in Colorado.    The next scene is when the show really started where the last show left off in the gym as if there has been no week in between.  Allison told the players they would be training with the athletes that were training to represent America at the next Olympics.

Soon we saw the players walking under the Olympic rings wearing winter coats.  The Biggest Loser players told America how happy they were to be there with the greatest athlete America had to offer.  Allison then told the players that this week they would be playing as individuals this week and that there would be 2 players sent home this week.  Allison then went on to tell them that this week two players would be sent home this week.  The player with the lowest weight loss would be below the red line and left right away.  Then there would be a yellow line and those two under that line would be in the elimination vote as in other weeks.  The end result would be that two players would be going home this week instead of the normal one.  The players were not happy with this as there were flashbacks to the first week of the season.’

Next Allison said to the players that Allison Jones would be training the players.  She was an Olympic super hero that has been involved in the the paraOlympics and few would know, nor consider her to have a disability.  Jillian told America how cool it was to be at the Olympic Camp and then the players went andlit the torch we all know represents the Olympics.  Michael told America how much his life has changed in the last seven weeks.  He could not believe he was there.  The large crowd present cheered when Allison Jones lit the cauldron and everyone chanted U-S-A!

How to start losing weight

Next we saw the players checking out the rooms they would be sleeping in and all of them had autographed flags on their beds.  O’Neal said the environment they were in was a once in a life time opportunity that would help their weight loss.  Bob Harper and Jillian walked into the Olympic kitchen where they met Adam who explained to them how important food was to help athlete perform.  The players learned that the food the different competitors ate was based on the individual and the sport they were training to compete.  The players were all told that the food was there for a purpose and each food provided what was needed.  Stephanie then went into a commercial for Extra gum with Bob Harper as he explained how the gum fought off a sweet tooth craving.

Koli was then telling America that he could not get John off his mind.  Koli was upset that John needed to be there more than he did and he felt remorse that John was sent home and he was still there.  Koli started to cry and said that he wanted to run and get away from it all.  he said he never did anything like The Biggest Loser, which was all for himself.  He kept crying as there was a commercial break.

The players then walked into a gym and met with some Olympic players and Jillian then told America that it was important to meet Olympians that had a goal and went to great lengths to achieve their desires.  The Biggest Loser players then started to train with the Olympic players.  The Biggest Loser players told America that it was insane to workout with the Olympians because of the insane good shape they were.  Koli then was boxing with Bob Harper and a bag while Bob told America that if the player goes below the red line, they went home right away.  One by one the players told America that the training was really hard and like nothing they ever did before.  Speedy, the Olympian told The Biggest Loser players that they worked out really hard and was an inspiration.  Bob then told America he saw sadness in the eyes of Koli.  Bob then was seen speaking with Koli and said that he needed to work on himself and Bob went on to tell America that this was a turning point for Koli and this was when he needed to start thinking about himself.

Allison then spoke of the pop challenge and introduced Olympian J.R. Celski who was competing in 3 different Olympic events.  J.R. then went on to show a severe scar he had andhow he bounced back to still be in the Olympics.  Allison then showed them they had to make 500 trips on a slide board.  The slide board was about two feet wide and seven feet long.  The players had to push themselves sideways and do it back andforth 500 hundred times.  There was going to be top three spots just like in the Olympics.  Allison did not tell them what the prizes would be, other than an advantage at the challenge.  Melissa was winning and going strong until Sam pulled up and almost caught up.  Melissa fell down and then Sam passed her to take first prize.  Melissa came in 2nd place to receive the silver prize.  The bronze prize to represent 3rd place was won by Sunshine.  When she did that her Dad went nuts cheering.

The players were then seen walking outside in the hills with mountains as a backdrop.  The were in what was called the “Garden of the Gods”.  Kelly UnderKofler was there to greet them she was in the para Olympics for the third time and spoke of her disability of only having one arm.  She said that they had to overcome challenges also.  The players were then shown how they were going to shoot a laser gun at a target. Each player had a target with a set of lights above their name.  Then the winners of the slide challenge were told the prize they won was to be able to hit the target to light up the target.  The winners of the pop challenge were told they could “hit” a target based on the prize won.  Sunshine assigned her bronze hit to Sam and Melisssa assigned her Silver hits to Sam also.  Sam then gave all three of hits hits back to Sunshine and Melissa.  The challenge was then evened out because the players that had the advantage negated that advantage by only giving the points to each other.  The prize they were all playing for was immunity.  The contest began andthe players were running around andthen lined up to shoot the targets.  They found it difficult to sight in with their heavy breathing from running.  Melissa was knocked out and then Miggy and then Daris. Michael was then eliminated followed by Sunshine and Koli and then Sam.  The players were getting tired as they had to run one lap in between each shot.  The pace slowed down and Ashley looked like she might win because she did not have a bad knee but came in third place.  The final lap had O’Neal and DarrelCahnge your life when you lose the weightwith Darell telling America he felt great and had a strength he has not had in years.  Both O’Neal and Darell got to the firing line at the same time to fire the last shot which would determine who would win immunity.  The last shot fired was close, but the victor of the match turned out to be O’Neal.  Sunshine, his daughter, ran up to him and gave him a big hug and Allison said the next time she would see them would be at the weigh in.

Back in California Bob Harper took the players to a 24Hour Fitness and introduced them to what 24Hour Fitness calls boot camp.  Bob Harper told the players they were back at sea level and this last chance workout should be easy.  Miggy told America that she was going to give this workout all that she had and then give it all that she did not have.  Bob Harper then told the players that the boot camp class was over and now the last chance workout was really about to begin.  This is when the sweat started to pour and the grunts and groans started.  Playerswere standing on there arms with their feet on walls.  Michael then said he has to lose 17 pounds to break The Biggest Loser record of fastest 100 pounds lost.  Bob then went on to show O’Neal how to train on a bosu ball.  Bob said that the smile of accomplishment on O’Neal’s face was what The Biggest loser Ranch was all about.  Bob Harper told America that giving the players back control of their body was what the show was all about.

Next e were at the weigh in and Allison told the players that there would be two players sent home and the one below the red line would leave the campus immediately.  The weigh in was to be as singles and not as teams.  The results were as follows:

Massive weight loss program!O’Neal:  333 / 325 lost 8 pounds.  2.40%  He had immunity, so it did not matter.
Michael: 443 / 432 lost 11 pounds.  He did not break the 100 pound record, but he did have 2.48%.
Stephanie: 225 / 221 lost 4 pounds.  1.78%
Sunshine: 245 / 239 lost 6 pounds. 2.45%
Koli: 335 / 326 lost 9 pounds.  2.69%
Andrea: 262 / 255 lost 7 pounds. 2.67%
Darrell: 343 / 338 lost 5 pounds. 1.46%
Sam: 310/ 298 lost 12 pounds. 3.87%
Sherry: 180 / 177 lost 3 pounds. 1.67%
Ashley: 317 / 311 lost 6 pounds. 1.89%
Daris: 281 / 274 lost 9 pounds. 3.18%
Cheryl: 194 / 191 lost 3 pounds. 1.55%
Miggy: 206 / 199 lost 7 pounds. 3.40%
Lance: 314 / 305 lost 9 pounds. 2.87%
Melissa: 198 / 199 GAINED 1 pound.

Melissa whined about gaining a pound as soon as she realized that she lost and was going to be sent home.  She said she would see them back at the finale and she would be her goal weight.  She told Lance that he had to get below 250 pounds before he came home.  She told Lance he had to stay focused and he should not follow her home.  The person that fell below the red line and was sent home immediatly on February 9 2010 was Melissa.  Melissa walked out of the gym and the two players that were facing elimination were Cheryl and Darrell.  Allison then said that since this was olympic week there would be no vote, there would be a challenge and the one who won the olympic challenge would be the one to stay.  The player that lost the head to head challenge would be sent home right away.

The players went outside and there were two mini olympic torches and each of the two players facing elimination were standing near a torch.  The players had the torch on their head and the one that balanced it the longest would be the one to remain on the ranch.  The players had to croutch and Darrell was at a disadvantage because of his knees.  He was almost in tears from the pain and then we learned that the elimaination of those below the yellow line would be continued till next week.

The Biggest Loser Transformation Moment started with scences of Melissa thanking Bob Harper for all of his help.  She went from 233 pounds to 175 pounds for a total loss of 58 pounds.  She said that when she got home it “was just me” and it was a struggle to implement the new lifestyle.  She decided to take up boxing and do it often.  Melissa said her struggle with her weight was real and then the show ended.

The Biggest Loser Recap / Review February 2 2010

The Biggest Loser Recap / Review February 2 2010 is another addition to ThinBlog and our weekly update as to what happened on the show.  We always write about what happened every episode, scene by scene.  We talk about the challenges and the vote and the weigh in until it is revealed about who is sent home from the ranch.  Check us out every week to review the facts or just catch up on what you missed.  Now on with the show!!!!Get off the couch this season and win big!

We began with a brief recap of last week and how they voted off Migdalia.  Miggy told America how she thought she was ready to be sent home.  When she realized she was the one to stay, Miggy said she really did not want to be there anymore.  She said they hardest moment of all was when she walked in her bedroom and all of Migdalia’s stuff was gone.  Then we broke in a screen with a 911 call about one of the contestants having a sever bout of abdominal pains.  It was 2:51 in the morning.  Then we learned that Miggy was rushed to the hospital during the night and she was doing fine.

Next we saw Allison tell the players that the challenges of being home were coming back to face them and at that moment two limo’s pulled up and The Yellow and The Blue Team stepped out and were back on the ranch.  Then we saw The Yellow Team and The Blue Team tell America how they felt when they were sent home on the first episode.  At that moment Allison said the time had come to weigh in at the gym and weigh in to see who was going to stay and who was going to be sent home.

The players arrived at the gym for the Blue Team and Yellow Team weigh off and were met with Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels.  Bob then told America that all players ever on the show had the rite of passage of doing the last chance workout.  We watched the players get worked really hard and the all were sweating and exhausted.  Bob then said the next time they met, it would be at the scale to see who stays…Yellow or Blue.

Allison was then shown in the gym telling the players how they were sent home and now it was time to see which team earned their place back to the ranch.  They also were told the team that stayed on the ranch would have the only vote at this weeks elimination. They also learned that they would be on the ranch for two weeks before they could be voted home, they had immunity from the elimination.  We then saw Bob Harper gasp a breath of disbelief and all the players were shocked.  The players all said that it was not right because they did not know the players who deserved to be there on the ranch. The weigh in started and Jillian said “God bless this game  show, you never know what’s coming.”  They then started the weigh in to see how much the players lost at home in  one month.

The Blue Team was the first to step up to the scale and the results were as follows:

The Blue Team:  Cherita 277 / 253 lost 24 pounds. Victoria 358 / 319 lost 39 pounds. Total team lost 63  pounds.  9.92%
The Yellow Team: Sunshine 275 / 250 lost 25 pounds. O’Neal 389 / 338 lost 51 pounds. Total team lost 76 pounds.  11.45%

The Blue Team was the team to lose and be sent home and The Yellow Team won the right to return and stay on the ranch.  The Yellow Team was thrilled to be back on the ranch and Allison told The Blue Team they were not The Biggest Loser and that they would be back at the grand finale.  The Blue Team said they would continue on their path home and it was time to work out.

Next all of the players were in the gym and the workout began.  Bob and Jillian were screaming and yelling and Jillian kept telling the players they were too comfortable.  O’Neal told America “What the Hell?”. He said everyone was so competitive and he was going to have to be even more competitive.  Melissa was about ready to give up and Bob told her to keep moving as we went into a flashback of Bob telling Melissa that she was a liar about the weigh in.  Bob then told America that Melissa had a rough time since she has been on the ranch and she needed to have her confidence back to continue on the ranch. Season 4 Winner

After a quick commercial break we were back in the gym with Bob telling Melissa to keep moving and Melissa was in tears saying how hard it was.  Bob told her that this workout is what the house was all about.  This was how she was going to get it done and this was how the house worked.  Bob said he was not asking her to do anything she could not do.  Melissa was in tears and Bob said that last weigh in she lost 11 pounds and that was her not playing the game and that he had gained respect for her.  He told her that it was going to be hard, but she could do it.

Jillian then was seen speaking with Daris and asking why he was close to the line.  Why was he not getting his calorie burn?  Jillian got him to admit that he had a problem with being overweight and that he had to make a change in his life for when he went home.  Jillian asked him questions and he said he needed to have courage and pride in himself.  She said he could stop being the funny guy and have a life.

After a commercial we were in the kitchen with The Black Team and The Yellow Team and we were at the start of a commercial that is what we call anti-tivo commercials about turkey.  Bob told all that by using ground turkey they could eat well and still lose weight.  They then made chili and they all enjoyed the food and said that they could not tell the difference.  Bob said the turkey was so much better to eat and everyone agreed how good it was.

We then were at a challenge and Allison said it was a football challenge.  Each team had a pair of blocking pads and they had to hit the tackle dummy 1,000 times.  The pads they hit were on a sort of horizontal pendulum and they kept hitting it on one side and then alternate and hit the other side.  It was sort of a teeter toter on it’s side.  Only one player from each team was participating and it was not as easy as it looked. The white Team (Michael) was shocked to learn that hw was tied to win and he pushed even harder and harder.  After 7.40 minutes the leader was Sam and Michael with The Red Team inn third place.  Immunity was the prize and all of the players were just pushing themselves harder and harder. After over 15 minutes Michael was in 1st place and the competition started to tighten up with Sam catching up.  It was really close and then Michael won and he shouted out “I won…I did it Mom!!!”.  The rest of the players were still going and the last team to finish was The Pink Team.  With being in last place The Pink Team has received a one pound penalty at the weigh in.  We then heard Michale tell his fellow players “I never thought I would have been able to do that”.

It was then night time and the camera angle was a moving shot from the pool area looking at the lighted door and windows.   Miggy then teared walking around the room and then hobbled in the door  and told the other players that she had her appendix removed.  She then told America that the only thing she could do was walk and that she was ready to walk to Puerto Rico if she had to do so.  We then went to a commercial about the pound for pound challenge.  After the short commercial break we were back at the ranch and we had a recap of the first hour of the show.  After the recap it was 5:31 AM and we saw Michael and Miggy walking in the dark.  Michael told Miggy that she needed to stay on the ranch and then he made a funny. He asked Miggy if he she “heard that?” He then said that there were no birds and “you know why….because they were sleeping!”  It was a reference to how early they were up walking.

After another brief built in commercial about making a snack we saw Dr. H. meet with Miggy about her operation.   Dr. H. asked her how far she walked the day after surgery and she said that she walked 13 miles.  Dr. H. was shocked that she was ale to walk 13 miles the day after she was operated on.  Dr. H. said that she had a problem because they poured 8 to 10 pounds of salt water in her to fight infection as part of the surgery.  Miggy then broke into tears after she realized the disadvantage she had with the extra water weight inside her from the operation.

Back in the gym Bob and Jillian asked about the challenge and then went over to Miggy and asked her what was wrong.  Bob was shocked to hear about her operation and then told America that Miggy had alot of stress this week and that could kill weight loss.  Next we saw Bob get Michael do a whole week in the gym and not in the pool.  Bob said that this last chance workout was really weird because all of the situations. Immunity.  Operation.  2 Pound disadvantage.  Bob chuckled as he told America that he was trying to hold it all together.  There was then a commercial for being a contestant on a future season of The Biggest Loser.  We guess that means there will be more seasons and more chances for us to provide recaps and reviews of the show for you.

After the commercial saw the gym from a distance and then we saw Jillian scream “Welcome to the Biggest Loser Ranch Sunshine!”  Bob was then seen working on Lance and Ashley and the tempo of the camera went faster and faster showing Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels put the players through the players.  Jillian then told America that Ashley had no fire in her to stay at the ranch.  Jillian then told Ashley that she was not working hard enough on the treadmill and yelled at her to “WALK!”  Jillian asked Ash why she was “manifesting her own death?”  Ash then broke down and said that she regretted her father and his cancer.  Jillian said that she was drinking and smoking and eating to make the feelings go away.  Jillian asked her what the issues were.  Ash said her father said so many bad things to her.  She said her Dad told her she was fat and lazy and needed to work out.  Ash then said she did not go home when he was dieing because he was always mean to her.  Ash then said she was in pain because she was not there when he needed her.  She said she only arrived after he could no longer speak.  She said she was sorry and then Jillian asked her what she would tell him if he was still alive.  Ash then cried and said (to her father) that she “was sorry”.

Back in the gym all the players were told they had to run on the treadmill for 5 minutes.  Stephanie was the one giving the commands and acted as if she was in charge.  All the players ran for the five minutes and were amazed that they were able to run that long.  Bob Harper then introduced the players to yoga and asked them to clear their minds.  Bob told the players they were all in the house for a reason.  Sunshine told America that she did not know the reason she was in the house, but she would stick around to find out why as her future unfolded.

O’Neal then told America that the impact of having the only vote was just hitting them.  He said he was a game player because he wanted to stay on the ranch and that was all he cared about. Sunshine then told America that he trusted her Dad and that told America that she would do whatever her Dad told her to do.  Which really meant that O’Neal controlled the show 10 percent at this point.  There was then a collage of players telling America the reasons they wanted to stay on the ranch.

At the weigh in Allison asked Miggy and Sunshine how they felt and Miggy told her operation story and Sunshine told America howe this was her first weigh in and how she was so scared.  The weigh in then started and since The Yellow Team had won immunity, they were the first to weigh in as the weigh in started.

You can lose weight big too!

Brown Team:  John 427 / 421 lost 6 pounds.

Since John lost the lowest percentage of body fat he was the one that fell below the yellow line and since he was the only member of The Brown Team, John was the one to be sent home this week and there was no vote held which means that The Yellow Team had no say and the right to choose was voided. John was in tears and he said he has had the change in his life he needed.  he said he no longer has to be the person he has been.  The player voted off the episode of The Biggest Loser February 2 2010 was The Brown Team member John, by default because he was the only member on the team that fell below the yellow line.

The Biggest Loser Transformation moment began with John telling America he weighed 485 pounds and now he was 380 pounds and lost 105 pounds.  he said he had a very difficult time when he first got home.  He found it harder to get to the gym everyday and it was not until he found martial arts that he started to get a groove for weight loss.  We then saw James and his brother John playing basketball and sparring in martial arts.  John said that The Biggest loser helped change his life.

Next week the players go to the Olympic training session in Colorado and the players will start as singles and that two people would be sent home next week.

The show then ended.

The Biggest Loser Season 9 Premiere Recap January 5 2010

The Biggest Loser Season 9 Premiere Recap January 5 2010. Once again Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper were on hand to greet all of the new contestants for the new season. This website offers you a great recap and review of all the events that took place.  Don’t miss a single moment of what happened on the show.  Was anyone sent home?  How did Bob and Jillian react?  What are the names of the players?  Are the players still using the BodyBugg?  Have they updated a new version of BodyBugg?  It is all right here on the Biggest Loser recap and review of The Biggest Loser Season 9 Premiere Recap January 5 2010.

The show and the season started off with a scene of a very overweight man walking in front of the camera.  The difference that started off this season was that the new players  started off having to weigh in at their home towns,  in public.  The new players were, for the first time ever, had to take their shirts off to weigh in at a public place, in their home town.  There were various scenes of the players yelling and getting yelled at by Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels and it ended up with Bob and Jillian looking up saying that one of the 22 players would be the next Biggest Loser.   The Season 9  Premier was a go and now for the recap and review of that entire episode.

The next scene was Bob and Jillian calling all the players on the phone one at a time and telling them that they had to each weigh in in front of all their friends, in their home towns.  The one to do so first was the Orange Team players walking into the gym of a High School, while two brothers in Orlando, Florida were getting set to weigh in. Then Patti from the Purple Team and then back to the Brown Team while the Orange Team Daris walked up to the scale in public.  Daris weighed in at 346 pounds and then he addressed the crowd and told them he was going to make them proud.  His mother was dressed in and Orange shirt to cheer him on.  The mother was Cheryl and she weighed in at 227.  Then Patricia on the Purple Team weighed in at 243 followed by her team mate at 264 pounds.  James on the Brown Team weighed in at a whopping 485  and his twin brother John was a close 484 pounds.  They were the half ton twins and they were huge.  WOW!!!

The Pink Team was Ashley and Sheri, Mother, daughter team.  Ashley, the daughter was weighed in at 374, then the Black Team came out and introduced themselves as a Dad Daughter Team.  Andrea was 298 while Dad, Darrell was at 413 pounds.  Soon we were in Texas with the Blue Team Cherita and Victoria and Cherita was at 277 while  Victoria was 358.  They were a mother, daughter Team.

Another Mom, daughter team came out and they were Migadalia,Daughter weighed in at 265, while Mom weighed in at 240 pounds.  They were on the Green Team and they were from Puerto Rico.  Quickly we were with a married couple Melissa at 233 and her hubby at 365 named Lance.  They were the Red Team and they lived on a ranch somewhere in Texas.   The next two players were Tongans and they were Koli and Sam.  Koli was 403 and his cousin and Black Team Mate Sam weighed in at 372.  They were inspired from the previous season players from Tonga.

Sunshine and O’neal were father, daughter team and outside a post office they stepped on a scale to weigh in.  O’neal said he had to have his daughter put his shoes on while Sunshine confessed she has never even been kissed by a boy.  Sunshine weighed in at 275 and broke down in tears.  Her Dad weighed in at 389 pounds and he actually looked much larger.  Next we were in Chicago watching son and Mom Italians Maria at 281 and ,Mike step on the scale at 526 pounds and he looked very large as he stood in front of his favorite Italian restaurant on the scale.  The show continued as does this recap and review of The Biggest Loser Season 9 after the break of commercials.

Biggest Loser Season 4 Winners!

After the break we were on The Biggest Loser Ranch watching Limo after limo pull up as the players started to arrive and meet with the host Allison.  With all the players at the ranch Allison welcomed them and told the players to follow her.  They walked up to the gym and there was no equipment in the building to be seen.  Allison told them there was a season of surprises ahead and the first challenge was about to start and it had to do with bikes.  The players had to ride 26.2 miles on a stationary bike and were told that the first 9 teams to finish would stay on the ranch and the two teams that came in last place would be asked to leave the ranch as soon as they lost.  As all the players gasped in shock, the recap and review of the season episode went to another commercial break.   The season Premier for season 9 was about to really get started.

The players all told America that they were there less than 5 minutes and they were in shock they were already getting ready to be sent home.  Allison told the players they were the sickest players ever on the show and that there were a team of medical personnel standing by in case they were needed during the competition.  The camera switched back and forth between the team members bikes, as the , miles the individual team players were combined to the one total goal of 26.2 miles.  The players were not doing well, as none of them were in decent shape.    The Green Team was the first to make the 26.2 miles and the also were the first to win immunity.  The rest of the teams came in as Gray team and then Black Team followed by Orange Team.  The Blue Team Mom was not doing well and then she keeled over in pain and grabbed the bike while Dr. H. grabbed her to stop her from falling to the floor.  Surrounded by medical personnel and Dr. H. she was told her it “was over” and she had to get off the bike.  The Pink Team came in next followed by The Red Team and then The Italian White Team.  The Brown Team was next and then it was the Purple Team.  The Yellow and Blue Team were the two losers that were to be sent home.  Allison said goodbye to the two losing teams and they walked out of the gym door to awaiting limos parked outside.

Jillian and Bob stopped the limo before it left the ranch, it was dark as Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels ran out in front of the car and stopped them from exiting the ranch.  Jillian and Bob got in the limo and told them it was not over.  Inside the limo the two teams were told they would head home  for 30 days and then come back and weigh in.  Both teams were estatic and quickly it was the next morning and Bob Harper set off the fire alarm to the entire building and the players started to file out of the building.  Bob told America he had the biggest group of people he has ever seen.  Jillian looked tiny compared to the men players.  Bob told them it was time to start and they all went right at the workout.  Bob said the “day one” workout was meant to be a wake up call.  Jillian said the players were puking out of windows left and right while others were crying and Jillian told America that they had not even started yet.  Jillian then spoke about how important it was to hydrate and drink water.

Jillian then cornered Mom Cheryl and said she was the one that always put everyone else in front of herself.  Jillian yelled in her face and asked her if she was ready to put herself first.  Cheryl then became a wild woman and Bob said “someone wound up that Moma like a top in the gym”.  She was screaming and yelling and punching a bag as if she became a possessed demon.  The first hour of The Biggest Loser Season 9 Premiere was over.

Get off the couch and you too can lose the weight!

The players were all sitting around confessing how unhappy they were with their lives and the tears were flying and the confessions were flowing.  All of the players were opening up and telling the world all of the things that dragged them down.  They told how the previous seasons influenced their desire to be on the show and make a change in their lives.  It was quite touching as each player truly opened up to the world about how unhappy they were.

As in all previous seasons the season premiere of season 9 was no different when talking about BodyBugg.  Bob Harper explained to America all the benefits of how great the Bodybuggwas to aid a person lose weight.  Bob Harper explained how all of the features worked and how it added up the calories that were burned each and every minute a person wore the BodyBugg.  Seeing Bob Harper explain the Benefits of Bodybugg answered many of the viewers asking the question “what is that thing on the arm of the players on The Biggest Loser?”  The answer was simple, listening to Bob Harper tell America how to operate The BodyBugg.  It was easy to see that although Bob was doing a paid commercial, he believed in the product. It was one of the times that Bob Harper did not sound like a commercial, while acting for a commercial.

Bob then told America just how big the players were this season and how he had his work cut out for him this season.  Jillian told the ladies they had a nation to inspire and Bob gave the nickname Texas to one of the Red Team male players.  Jillian told America that although they may have known the show as a fan, they still did not KNOW what a last chance work out was all about. The Black Team was suffering and Bob told America that the first last chance workout was to push the limits.  Jillian told America that The Biggest Loser Ranch was the end of the road and that you really did not want to be there.

The Brown Team John was then telling America he had a bad knee and he was at a disadvantage.  It sounded as if he was already making excuses of why he could not keep going.  Then we saw him swimming in a pool and him telling America he was not going to give up.

The players were then seen walking into their very first weigh in.  Allison told them it was a wild week since they beared their bodies and souls to America on the scale in public.  The results went on with Bob Harper telling America that the teams this year were the biggest players in the history of the show.  Allison told them the weigh in was about to start and it was the total percentage of weight loss that determined the winner and the loser.  Since the Green Team won immunity they went first.  The weigh in went as follows:

Green Team:    Migdalia 265 / 249 lost 16 pounds.   Miggy 240 / 224 lost 13 pounds. Total team loss is 29.  5.74%
Gray Team:      Sam 372 / 354 lost 18 pounds.   Koli 403 / 374 lost 29 pounds.  Total team loss 47 pounds.  6.06%
Orange Team:Cheeryl 227  / 213 lost 14 pounds.  Daris 346 / 317 lost 29 pounds. Total team loss 43 pounds. 7.50%
Black Team:    Andrea 298 / 284 lost 14 pounds.  Darrell 413 / 383 lost 30 pounds.  Total team lost 44 pounds. 6.19 %
Brown Team:  James 485 / 462 lost 23 pounds.  John 484 / 461 lost 23 pounds. Total team lost 46 pounds. 4.75 %
Red Team:
     Melissa 233 / 214 lost 19 pounds.  Lance 365 / 344 lost 21 pounds.  Total team lost 40 pounds.  6.69%
Purple Team:  Patti 243 / 220 lost 23 pounds.  Stephanie 264 / 246 lost 18 pounds.  Total team lost 41 pounds  8.09%
Pink Team:      Ashley 374 / 353 lost 21 pounds.  Sherry 218 / 201 lost 17 pounds. Total team lost 38 pounds.  6.42%
White Team:     Maria 281 / 268 lost 13 pounds.  Michael 526 / 492 lost 34 pounds. Total team lost 47 pounds.  Michael Lost more weight than anyone in Biggest Loser Season history 5.82%

The team that had the lowest percentage of body fat lost was the Brown Team.  That meant that either James or John was going to go home.  John pleaded his case that his knee was bad and he himself should be sent home because his knee bad.  Cheryl told America she hated to break up a twin brother team.  The other players were not sure of  who to send home.  The pros were to keep the one with the bad knee so he would get help he needed.  As the commercial break came on the viewers had no idea who was going home.  It was a tough call for the rest of the players on the ranch.

We restarted the show sitting at the table of elimination.  The Green Team voted to sent home John.  The Black Team voted for James.  The Red Team voted to send home James.  The Pink Team voted to send home James.  The Purple Team voted to send home James.  The White Team voted to send home James.

The player with the most votes and voted to be sent home was James.  The Player voted off the series premiere of The Biggest Loser  Season 9 that aired on January 5, 2010 was James.

James vowed to America that he was going to keep going after he got home. The Biggest Loser Transformation Moment showed James at home lost 100 pounds in 2 months.  He went from 485 pounds to 385 pounds and he looked better and claimed he worked out all the time.  He said he eats home all the time and he was getting very happy and there were scenes of his wife saying she lost 24 pounds herself and she was proud of what they had accomplished.  It was a touching moment to see the positive results from someone that really did not look like he was motivated while he was on the ranch. Maybe he was ALOT more motivated that he looked, because he did go home and lose 100 pounds.

That is all for the Season 9 Series Premier of The Biggest Loser that aired on January 5 2010.  We hope you enjoyed this recap and review of the show!  See you next week for the next Biggest Loser recap and Review on Thin Blog.

The Biggest Loser Review / Recap March 2 2010

The episode of The Biggest Loser that aired on March 2 2010 has been recapped and reviewed here on ThinBlog for you to be able to find out what happened on this particular episode.  Learn what happened, learn who was sent home.  Learn how it happened and the body weight each player started and ended the show.  Book mark this site so you can check on past episodes and discover things you may have missed.  Okay!  Now it is time to review tonight’s episode.

As you know, this episode is part two from last weeks episode and that is where the show started.  Both players were squatted and stood there balancing a torch on their head.  The pesron that would be first to drop the torch would go home right then and there.  Both players told America that they were in pain and after nine minutes Darrell dropped  the torch and he was the one going home.  Darrell bid farewell to the other players and he was gone.

It was soon the next day and there was a challenge and it was revealed that the split wasabout to happen and the Blue verses Black was about to begin.  The winner of the challenge would choose the sides for the teams and also could pick anyone for immunity.  Allison said that they had to raise their hand to play in the challenge.  Allison counted to three and the players that raised their hand would participate in the challenge.  The players that did raise their hand to participate were Mike and Andrea.  These were the two players that would compete in the classic game of memory.  If they could pick a card and reveal a food behind it and then match that food with the same food behind another card. they would beable to skip a eating turn and force the opponent to eat another round of food.  If they made a match, the other player had to eat the food behind the cards.  Every time they DID NOT get a match they had to eat a 100 calorie cookie. When they were able to match two pairs of golden tickets they would win the challenge.   Many cards were revealed and they had to eat many cookies until Michael found a familiar food group but could not pair it up.  Then Andrea was able to make a match and Michael had to eat another cookie.  Andrea then made anothermatch and Michael had to eat anothercookie while Andrea went on to pick another card.  Andrea now had 3 golden tickets and Michael was up to 1,760 calories.  Michael was getting sick from eating souchjunk food Michael was up to 2,310 calories and it was again his turn to look for a pair of tickets.  He found one ticket and then another to win the game.1,320 calories were eaten by Andrea and she lost all the power to Michael.  Allison then told Michael the way he would pick the teams and the trainers.  Each team would have 6 players and the person that would have immunity would not be on the a team.  After the weigh in the person with the immunity would then be on the team that lost the weigh in.  Michael told America that he was going to choose sides based on how it would benefit himself.  There was then a commercial break.

Mediterranean Diet

Michael then chose the players and the trainers as following and he then said that he was taking care of himself for the first time in his life.

Black Team was as follows:  Sam, Cheryl, Andrea, Stephanie, Sherry, Ashley

Blue Team was as follows:  Koli, Daris, Lance, Miggy, Sunshine, Michael,

The kicker of it all was that Michael chose to be on the Blue Team which he stacked to be the winning team.  What Michael did was that he set himself up to be on the winning team and then gave away the immunity to O.Neal.  Everyone was not happy because not only did he stack the teams he split up all of the couple like Mom and son and cousin and cousin.  Everyone was now quite ticked with Michael.

Jillian was then seen walking into the gym and said “what the Hell happened?”  Jillian said it was so unfair and the curses were bleeped out of her mouth.  Jillian yelled that he did not even give them a chance.  Michael said to Jillian that he was using the rules and Bob told him that he had to start taking care of himself.  Bob said nothing and shook his head while Jillian said it made her freak out because of her flashbacks of junior high school.  Then everyone got on a tread mill and it was agreed that they had to work out 3x harder to just break even with the stacked teams.

The workout in the gym began and Bob was barking out orders and told his stacked team that they did not have it won and they still had to work really hard.  Back in the ranch common area later on the other players were very angry with Michael and all of the other players voiced their disgust with Michael.  The conversations turned pretty ugly and right before a commercial Michael told Miggy that if she were to fall below the line he would send her home because she was no use to him.  it was a very rude and cold comment.

Jillian then came out and did a commercial for Larabar and touted all the benefits of the bar.  Next we were down town in the city for their first challenge as the Blue and Black Teams.   They were in front of a tall building and there were banners hanging on the outside of the building.  They were told they would have to do it from the roof where ther was a rope and the banners were on a pulley system.  Michael said they had a stacked team and Koli said they would not give up and try to work as a team.  The Black Team was working well as a unit and The Blue Team was losing their early lead.  The Blue Team then just went into overdrive and won the challenge.  Michael then told America that it felt good to win and his team was starting to bond already.    Lance received a mini photo album and broke into tears.  Miggy cried like a baby when her fiance lost 30 pounds,   Michael had a photograph and he too broke into tears.  Daris got a letter from a friend while O’Neal read a letter from his son.   Michael then told America it will only make his team stronger.

back at the ranch we saw Dr. H. greeting the players and update them on their health.  Ashley recovered 8 years of her life and she was improving greatly in only 7 weeks.  Sam received a great report also and even more so because he not only lost weight, but also quit smoking.

Bob was screaming “last chance workout” and the sweat was pouring and the screams were loud.  Bob told America that he was afraid his team was too overconfident and the may take a big fall at the weigh in.

100 Calorie Diet

Michael told America that the Black Team was driven and had a mission that made them very competitive. and next we saw the players all walking into the gym for the weigh in.  The results were as follows:

O’Neal:  325 / 316  lost 9  pounds. 2.77  %    He had immunity and his weight did not count and it was impressive that he did not play the game.

Blue Team:
Michael:
  432 / 417  lost 15  pounds.
Sunshine: 239 / 232  lost 7 pounds.
Lance: 305 / 300  lost 5 pounds.
Miggy: 199 / 195 lost 4  pounds.
Daris: 274 / 267  lost 7  pounds.
Koli: 326 / 316   lost 10  pounds.
Blue Team Totals were 48 pounds, which was 2.70%

The Black Team:
Andrea:
255 / 250  lost 5 pounds.
Cheryl: 191 / 187  lost 4  pounds.
Sherry: 177 / 171 lost 6  pounds.
Sam: 298 / 290  lost 8  pounds.
Stephanie: 221 / 213  lost 8 pounds.
Ashley:  311 / 301   lost 10  pounds.
Black Team Totals were 41 pounds, which was 2.82%

It was an amazing weigh in because The Black Team was able to beat The Stacked Blue Team.  The darl cloud of being the weak team was cast aside and The Black Team won.  The irony of it was that Michael who created the hard feelings of the episode had the highest % of weight loss and so he could not be sent home.  At the discussion The Blue Team had to decide who was to be sent home and it was decided that they had to choose what was best for the team.  The vote went as follows:

Lance: Voted for Miggy
Daris: Voted for Miggy
Miggy: Voted for Lance
Michael: Voted for Lance
Sunshine: Voted for Miggy
Koli: Voted for Miggy

The person voted off the ranch on March 2 2010 was Miggy.  Miggy was sent home.

The Biggest loser Transformation Moment began with Miggy telling America that she was able to heal herself and improve herself.  She went from 240 to 179 pounds.  Miggy told America that she used to always be stressed out and now she meditates and has learned how to relax.  She said the best thing that happened to her was that she changed her energy from negative to positive.

The Biggest Loser Transformation Moment continued with Darrell who was sent home at the start of the show.  He went from 413 to 293 for a total of 123 pounds lost.  He now works out with his wife and he really looked much healthier now and his wife looked very happy.  He said he owed The Biggest Loser his life.

The Biggest Loser Recap / Review January 26 2010

The Biggest Loser episode that aired on January 26 2010 started off with scenes of the players walking in the ranch from last weeks vote.  Mike was sad because his Mom was gone and then John asked him if he was going to step it up this week.  John told America that it was going to be a tough week because everyone was going to watch him.  Allison appeared and said for the first time ever during a pop challenge the winner would have immunity.  There were 3 envelopes and to see what was in them they had to win the challenge.  To win the challenge the players had to run the presidential mile, which was a loop around the ranch.  Every lap they get a key-card and that key-card will either give them and “X” or a green check mark from a machine that looked like an ATM.  The first one to get 3 checks would win.  Pink, Red, Brown and Yellow were the first to get a check.  Then The Pink Team had the 2nd check which put them ahead.  Mike went 4 laps and did not have any checks and he was getting upset.  The Pink Team then got a red “X” and the results started to pile up with no clear winner in sight.  Stephanie went 9 laps and did not get any points.  Mike made a strong comeback and got a 2nd point.  On lap 7 The Pink Team got anotherred “X” and then the Red Team aslo got another “x” and it went on and on until the winner was revealed to be The Red Team, and they had immunity.

Allison then took the 3 large blue envelopes and in them there were things to be done to other players. The first card was “no access to gym”  while the second card was “no elimination vote” and the 3rd card said 2 pound disadvantage.  They had to give the cards to any players of their choice and it could all go to one team or 3 teams.  The Red Team players said they did not like the burden, but it had to be done.  The choices of the envelopes were to give John no access to the gym because he had a knee issue and he would use the pool.  John said he was okay with that.  They then went to Michael and said he would receive the card for “no elimination vote” because of the hurtful things said last week.  They gave him the card to give his emotions a chance to recover.  The third card which was a 2 pound DIS-advantage was given The Green Team.  Miggy flipped out and would not allow them The Red Team to explain.  Lance explained anyway and said that they gave The Green Team the 2 pound disadvantage because they had a great week last week and expected them to bounce back with good numbers this week.  The Green Team was not happy.  Miggy told America that if they had the power, they would have handed all 3 envelopes to The Red Team

The next scene the players were in the gym and Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels walked in and said “where’s Bob?”  Melissa stated they had immunity once again and Jillian put her head in her hands in disgust.  Lance explained why they gave out the cards the way they did.  Miggy chimed in that the reason was not true because they did not have the good numbers.  Bob said he had to talk to The Red Team about their weigh in and there was a flash back to the yelling at last weeks weigh in.  Melissa told America that last week Bob attacked her and she would hold a grudge forever.  Melissa said that she was being accused of being a liar and then Melissa said she was not a liar.  Bob told America that he was 99% sure it was game play and then said that he had 1% doubt.  Lance said that he lost respect that night Bob verbally attacked Melissa but now he had some respect for Bob since he came out and spoke to them.  Bob told America that he was ready to move on and get going and that Jillian would have a harder time with this than he did.

Get Ready For Beach Weather

The players went outside to exercise and Lance was separated from the workout because of his knee issue.  Jillian then cornered Lance and said that Melissa was telling a lie.  Lance resented it all and said his wife was not telling a lie.  Lance said she was not a liar and then Jillian said she was and she knew she was. Lance then said he lost all respect for Jillian and then walked away and said he would have nothing to do with her and would not work with her.  Jillian said “such is life” and walked away and the camera went to a commercial.

Jillian walked over to Bob Harper training the players outside and said to Bob loudly in front of everyone that Lance walked away and that Jillian knew Melissa was a liar.  Jillian said it quite loud so all the players heard what was going on.  Jillian said that The Red Team was Bob’s because they won’t work with her anymore.   Bob had a look of horror on his face as he realized how Jillian was talking about Melissa so loudly. Jillian then said that she needed one person from each team to do boxing training.  Bob told Melissa to go with Jillian and then grabbed her and shook her wishing her good luck.  Melissa walked up to Jillian to box and then told Melissa that she was not welcome to train with her.  Jillian said that she knew the science of weight loss.  Jillian said that there was no way Melissa was telling the truth and thus “Melissa was a liar”.  Jillian said that Melissa was a liar and that was that.  Melissa pleaded that she was not telling a lie.  Jillian said she was not refusing her help, she was just refusing to believe her.  Jillian held her ground and said you can work with me and if you want or you can go with Bob.  Jillian told America that she had no doubt that Melissa was telling a lie.

The next scene Lance and Melissa were in their bed talking about how to get past the issue.  Melissa told Lance that they had to put all the stuff behind them and work with Jillian.  There was then a commercial and after the commercial Jillian was in the kitchen and there was a commercial for another product.  This was one of those TIVO proof commercials.  After all of the commercials we were at a dock and there were ropes that went really high and Allison came out in a yellow hard hat.  Allison told them they had to get in a cage and lift themselves up 120 feet in the air.  The reward was a phone call home and also they could choose three other teams to call home also.  The Green Team said thay had to win because they knew The Red Team would never pick them.  They were in a cage that held each team.  There was a pull up bar that had to be pulled down and that downward motion is what lifted the cage with the two players up a very short distance.  All the players were struggling and all of them spoke of how much harder it was to do it than they thought it was going to be.  Gray Team was winning with The Red Team close behind. It appeared as if the other teams already had given up swince they were so far behind.    All of a sudden The Red Team kicked it into warp speed and almost won.  The Gray Team won by about one second and the privilege to phone home.  All of a sudden KOli started to cry because he was so happy to call home.  They then chose who would be allowed to call home and they chose The Red Team and then Melissa broke out in tears because they were so happy.  The second team was The Green Team and Miggy walked up to hug them and Migdalia said thanks, but was not emotional at all.  The third team allowed to join in on the call home was John because he was by himself and he needed the contact with his family.

The show returned from the commercial break with the recap and then we saw all the players make their phone call home and the tears were flowing and the stories were tearful and it was just heart warning to hear the stories that were told.  Sam spoke of how great it was to hear his father tell him he loved him in his adult life.  John cried as he heard young child.  John said he was their because of his family as his Dad died when he was 15 and he did not want to do that to his famishe wanted to go home.  Lance and Melissa spoke to their two children and then we saw Miggy have a conversation with his family and said she may be home sooner than they thought. She told America once she heard his voice she wanted to go home.  Migdalia then heard her families voice and she started to cry and told America he was a soldier adn he was deploying to Afghanistan and she would not get to see him before he goes.  It was sad to see.

Bob then took the entire house to a Subway restaurant and the built in commercial and started to talk about a surprise last chance workout.  Bob told them they had to run to the top of the hill.  Mike said it was not a hill, it wasw a mountain.  John was happy since he got to workout with everyone even though he was not allowed into the gym.   Bob pushed yelled and chided from behind as the players were going up to ther top of the hill.  Jillian was at the top of the hill and said it was not the end, but it was only the start.   Bob told Jillian to “kill em” and the paces became faster as Jillian made all of the players lift, run and push wheelbarrows.  Jillia told America she normally did not like the outdoors, but since she could torture people she liked it.  The players were soaking wet with sweat and Koli had to push Sam up the hill in the wheelbarrow.  Sam kept flipping out of the wheelbarrow and Jillian told them it was alright because it was impossible.  Sam and Koli decided that they were going to do it and tried again and again until the made it to the top of the hilll in the wheelbarrow.

After the commercialthe weigh in began with Miggy whining about how the 2 pound disadvantage .  Miggy told Allison that Melissa was all about game play from the start.  John was told that since he was the only player on his team, if he was below the yellow line, he would just go home.  The first team to weight in was the Red Team.  The results from the weigh in were as follows:

Learn to eat Healthy AND lose weight

Red Team: Melissa 214 /203  lost 11 pounds / Lance 324/ 318 lost 6 pounds. 17 pounds team total.  3.16%

Once the Green Team walked off the scael Melissa from The Red Team said that the 2 pound disadvantage did not matter and then Migdalia told Melissa to “shut up”.  Jillian put her head in her hands.  It was a rough portion of the weigh in.  Miggy told her daughter to not let them see you cry.  Jillian then stressed out because of the way the mother told Migdalia to never show emotion.  Jillian yelled at Bob that that was the problem.  It was obvious that Miggy and Migdalia have anger issues wrapped up with the lack to show emotions.

When the time started to plead their case, Migdalia said “I want to go home, That’s it!”  Melissa told the house that the drama of the house was coming from Miggy.  The vote then started and it went as follows:

Red Team:Voted to send home Miggy
Orange Team:  Voted to send home Migdalia
Pink Team:Voted to send home Migdalia
Purple Team:Stephanie voted to send home Migdalia
Gray Team: Voted to send home Miggy
Brown Team:John voted to send home Miggy
Black Team:Voted to send home Migdalia

The player voted off of The Biggest Loser on Jan 26 2010 and was sent home was Migdalia.

The Biggest Loser Transformation Moment started with Migdalia telling America that she was happy with herself.  She said she did not leave a pat on the shoulder and told America the next time we saw her see would weigh 140 pounds.   The next moment we saw her and she weighed 219 pounds.  She told America how hard it was for her husband to be away while she was home.  She was shown exercising and how she loved herself again and how she no longer was ashamed to see herself in the mirror.  It ended with the caption that she plans on running a marathon with her husband.

The show then ended.

How many seasons will you watch and do nothing!

The Biggest Loser Recap / Review January 19 2010

The Biggest Loser Recap / Review January 19 2010: This episode started off like any other episode but you could tell this was going to be a good show.    This episode started with a brief recap of the previous episodes.  It focused on the two teams that left the ranch the very first week.  They started the show with a check in of the two teams starting with players talking about how they had 30 days to get the weight off.  The Blue Team told America how The Yellow Team was their competition to lose weight and then the show shifted to O’Neal and his daughter of The Yellow Team.  He told America over and over about how he would get back on the Ranch.

Soon we were on The Biggest Loser Ranch with all of the teams walking out to a challenge.  Allison said it was Student Teacher week on The Biggest Loser.  The players were all told that the students would not see Bob and Jillian until the weigh in.  Allison said that at the weigh in the student would be the only ones that the weight would matter at the weigh in.  Each team had to have a student and a teacher.  The student would work under the trainer and that trainer would be the team-mate.  Only the trainer players were allowed to train with Bob and Jillian.  The trainer players had to go train their partners they way Bob and Jillian instructed.  Bob and Jillian would not see the students for the entire week.

The challenge was composed of a massive quantity of what appeared to be M&M’s.  Each one was 5 calories and the winner would be the one that ate the most of them.  Only two people ate any, with one being the White Team Mike and The Pink Team Cheryl.  The Pink Team won the challenge and then had all of the power to decide who would be the teacher and who would be the student for each team for the rest of the week.  Once she realized she held the power she was full of regret and wished they did not play.

She chose the following:

Black Team: Teacher= Andrea / Student = Darrell
Mixed Team: Teacher = Stephanie / Student = John
Gray Team:Sam = Teacher / Koli – Student
Red Team: Melissa = Teacher / Lance = Student
Orange Team:Cheryl = Teacher / Daris = Student
Green Team:Migdalia = Teacher / Miggy = Student
White Team: Michael = Teacher / Maria = Student
Pink Team:  Sherry = Teacher / Monica = Student

The weight of the student was going to be the only weight that counted during the week of training.  Bob and Jillian then met with the teachers and not the students.  Bob was amazed that she won the challenge because she only ate 10 calories.  Bob then cornered Migdalia in front of the group asking her why she was angry.  Bob said to America that she was so upset and Bob told Jillian she had an anger issue that Jillian had a chip on her shoulder.  Bob and Jillian said that her anger was going to alienate her from the rest of the group.Girl On Tummy

After the commercial the show resumed with Bob and jillian in the gym with only the teachers.  They were going to give instruction one on one so they will be able to take that information back to their students.  Bob and Jillian gave alot of information such as how intense the treadmill needed to be and how often to eat. Jillian then said that Migdalia had an anger issue and approached her to see why she was so angry and shut down.  Jillian told America that her anger was the trigger that got her overweight in the first place.  Jillian then started to beat the crap out of her and kept asking her why she was having issues.  Jillian had little patience and sent her to the bathroom to pee.  Bob told Jillian that she shut herself down and that she had excuses galore.  Jillian told Bob she was afraid she would just walk out.  Bob and her agreed that it was time for Jillian to get mean.

Jillian then started to say fat mother and fat daughter and asked her if the grand daughter was going to be fat.  Jillian asked her if her daughter cried and then Migdalia said she did not need to cry.  Jillian said ”why did God give us the emotion if we did not need it?”   The anger started to simmer and Jillian kept drilling with the emotions and the workout.  Jillian kept yelling and screaming and digging into her emotions and that she needed to use her feelings and emotions and learn to express herself.  Jillian kept going and going and digging and asking her why she was pissed and why did she come to the ranch?  Jillian asked her over and over why she let herself get so unhealthy?   Jllian said she had a choice that she needed to open herself up and see the process of how she got to the Biggest loser Ranch.  Jillian asked he if she was happy and Migdalia walked out of the gym with Jillian in tow asking her why she was so unhappy.  Migdalia kept walking off into the grass field pushing Jillian out of the way and telling Jillian to “move, move, move”.

Jillian pleaded with her to not quit and said this was the moment to be strong.  Quitting would be leaving and not dealing with her feelings.  Jillian said her feelings are what got her to the ranch and then Migdalia said “I want to go home!”  Jillian stopped the Mom and said that she had to stop her daughter from leaving the ranch.  Jillian said that Miggy should not validate her daughter’s excuse to leave the ranch because the giving up was a pattern in her life that got her on the ranch.  Jillian pleaded with mother Miggy to break the daughters pattern and run away from ranch.  Jillian pleaded with Miggy to help her daughter deal with the issues.

Mother Miggy went into the bedroom with Migdalia and closed the door.  The Spanish started to fly and the subtitles told the non=spanish speaking portion of the audience that  Migadalia was upset because her 9 year old daughter was going to be overweight also and that she wasw a bad mother.  Jillian was then at the pool with Bob Harper and that she was afraid that she really was quitting the ranch.  Bob took off jogging to see what happened with Migdalia.  The curses were flying and Bob told her that she had to get her head on straight and her job was not done.  He said she needed to cool off and get her head on straight.  Migdalia looked like she could spit nails and then Miggy said that she was not here to change their personalities.

Bob took offense to that and then he went politically correct and sort of side stepped the entire issue of Miggy saying Jillian told her she was a bad mother. ……………Being just an observer, we here at I Choose Thin thought the drama was over flowing from Miggy and Migdalia.  Jillian never said anything that was even remote to them being bad parents or mothers.  Miggy and daughter went off the deep end and whew!   The whole thing reminded us of insane customers that you meet while working in retail.  We thought that Miggy and Migdalia needed to get over themselves and start to deal with the anger that they have boiling inside themselves.

The Diet Solution

We were soon back watching the sent home Blue Team walking into a 24Hour Fitness center.  Vickie and Cherita were telling America how they had not tried spin classes and once they did they loved it and realized it was not that bad.  O’Neal of The sent home Yellow Team was then in a park talking to his wife who was pleading with him to lose weight because based on his family history, he would die within 10 years.

Sherry of the Pink Team told America how she wanted to help her daughter and then Andrea was shown training her Dad on the motion ladder and was amazed that her Dad was able to do it for 10 years.

The Trainers Room was mentioned by John of The Brown Team.  The trainers room was where the players go to get fixed up after their grueling workouts.  This room has only been seen in one prior episode.  This is where the medics check out the players everyday and then a Walgreen’s commercial was slipped in showing a Walgreen’s product to ice down the knees.  This was another one of those built in commercials on the show that is Tivo proof.

After the commercail break we saw alol the students walk into a kitchen and met with chef Curtis Stone.  He said that he was going to teach them about portions.  He then revealed plates of foods and after seeing all the calories on each plate and the meal rang up to almost 9,000 calories.  Curtis said that he wanted to teach what a standard portion size would be.  He showed the players how to cook food healthy.  Curtis showed them that by eating healthy they could eat and not eat fatty foods that would make them even more obese.

Back at the ranch we saw the drama continue with the Green Team with Migdalia looking like a 5 yar old with her head on her hand leaning on the table.  Miggy told her daughter that she was unhappy and that is why she was gaining all the weight.  The mother told her that Jillian was just trying to push out her anger because that anger is what was an issue that proved she needed help.  The mom told the daughter that she did need to deal with her anger and that anger was what she needed to deal with if she wanted to be healthy.

After another commercial break we were back on the ranch listening to a recap of the first hour and Bob screaming “It is not a joke here!”  Right after that we saw a yellow school bus and they were at another challenge with Allison telling them to get off the bus.  There were huge rolls of ribbon on spools.  The teacher of each team had to unwind 1,000 feet of ribbon through a playground, which had typical things on a children’s playground.  Then a student had to go out and bring all of the ribbon back to the starting point.  The winner of the challenge had immunity and then they also had the choice to switch one team to make the teacher the student and the student the teacher.

The teachers had to then take the 1,000 feet of ribbon and roll it over and under and through things to make it difficult for the player to retrieve all the ribbon..  They had 15 minutes to tangle all of the ribbon up.  After the 15 minutes the ribbons were all over the place.  Allison then said that they would have to bring back their own ribbons and they had to retrieve it BLINDFOLDED.  The White Team was in trouble because they really made a mess of the ribbon.

The teachers followed the students around the red Team was excited because he was used to working in the dark as a commercial diver.  The Pink Team was pitiful because the directions were horrible.  Maria on the White Team was getting angry because the ribbon was such a mess.  Sam and Koli were doing well and The Pink team was pitiful and did nothing but lay there on the floor.  The Green Team started to get angry and The Orange Team got stopped where the White Team tangled them all up.  The diving experienced Red Team was winning and The Gray Team was right behind them.  The Gray Team pulled ahead because the Red Team was stuck at a knot and the challenge was over.  The Gray Team won immunity at the weigh in.

Last chance workout with Bob telling them they had to be ready because nobody knew who was going to be switched at the weigh in by The Gray team.  Jillian hoped that the teachers were instructing their partners as she had told her to tell them.  Bob said that the best way to help Migdalia was to let her beat the crap out of the punching bag.  She actually broke open the bag and the stuffing came out all over the floor.  Bob smiled.  There were the typical scenes of players exercising and sweating and exercising and sweating.    Player after player came before America telling them how much was resting on their shoulders.  Then we heard all of the players say that Mike was not working out much and he was over 500 pounds and he was spending more time playing than he was working out.  The intensity of the exercise was evident by all of the sweat that was pouring off all of the other players.  Migdalia told her =exhausted mother that she loved her.

We then saw all of the players walking into the gym for the weigh in.  Allison greeted the players and the weigh in began after asking The Gray Team what team they decided would switch roles of teacher and student.  The team that the Gray Team decided to switch was The White Team.  Now for the weigh in The White Team had to switch roles of the teacher and The Student.  The Gray Team said they switched them on purpose because Mike has not worked out that hard.  They told Mike that he was privileged to be on the show and that he wasw one of the luckiest 24 people in the world because he made it to the ranch.  They told him that he was not working hard and that he did not take advantage of Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels being at his disposal.  The weigh in then began with the Gray Team that had immunity.

Gray Team:  Sam 345 / 334 lost 11 pounds.  Koli 366 / 353 lost 13 pounds.   Koli was the student.
Green Team: Migdallia 245 / 237 lost 8 pounds.  Miggy 219 / 212 lost 7 pounds. Miggy was the student. 3.2%
Black Team:  Andrea 279 / 272 lost 7 pounds.  Darrell 373 / 361 lost 12 pounds.  Darrell was the student.  3.22%
Orange Team:  Cheryl 210 / 203 lost 7 pounds.  Daris 310 / 301 lost 9 pounds.  Daris was the student.  2.90%
Mixed Team:  Stephanie 243 / 236 lost 7 pounds. John 451 / 437 lost 14 pounds.  John was the student.   3.10%
Red Team:  Melissa 215 / 214 lost 1 pound.  Lance 336 / 324 lost 12 pounds.  Lance was the student. 3.57 %

Once again it was obvious that Melissa threw the weigh in again.  This was the second week in a row that her weight loss was a joke.  Listening to the excuse Jillian said she was full of shi* and that she just wished she would stop thinking everyone was stupid.  Jillian said it was impossible to not lose weight with the calories she was burning.  Melissa and Bob and Jillian went at it and it was very hateful because Jillian said she was an expert and it was an insult for her to say she was not lying.  Melissa was upset at being called a liar and then Bob Harper shut it all down by saying that that was not the place to discuss it.  The Red team husband Lance said he did not want to even say a word about the whole thing.

White Team:  Maria 258 / 254 lost 4 pounds.  Michael 481 / 471 lost 10 pounds.  Michael was the student.  2.08%
Pink Team:  Ashley 345 / 333 lost 12 pounds.  Sherry 196 / 190 lost 6 pounds.  Ashley was the student.  3.48%

The team that had the lowest percentage weight loss was the white team.  What that meant was that the rest of the players would now get together and vote for one of the players to be sent home.  Maria pleaded with the other players to let Michael stay because she was afraid that he would die withing 5 years if he was sent home.  John from the Brown Team said Maria was a giver and it was an insult for Michael to still be here because he does not work hard enough to be worthy to be there.  A show stopper was soon shown by Michael telling America that if he was voted off the ranch it was just proof of how everyone else “was just a bunch of cowards.”  That remark was a verbal slap at the others because to the outside observer, Mike WAS NOT worthy to remain on the sacred ground of weight loss known as The Biggest Loser Ranch.

Orange Team: Voted to send home Maria
Mixed Team:  Voted to send home Michael
Black Team:  Voted to send home Maria
Gray Team: Voted to send home Maria
Red Team: Voted to send home Maria

The player voted off The Biggest loser episode of January 19 2010 was Maria of The Black Team.  Maria said she was happy to have been on the ranch and she learned so much.  She told America that she has learned to deal with her fears inb life like her fear of water.  Maria said she had a bond with Jillian an that now her eyes were opened.

The Biggest Loser Transformation Moment shown Maria in her kitchen and the fact that she had a swimming instructor and she showed her family that she had learned to swim.  She got in a large pool and proved to all she was over her fear of water.  Maria told America that she was growing and learning to live.  Her total weight loss went from 281 to 230 pounds.  She has lost a total of 51 pounds.

Pssssstttt.....I lost it...You Can Too Girls!!! I love my new body and so does my man!!
