I Lost Weight On Medifast

I Lost Weight On MedifastI Lost Weight On Medifast is not something everyone can say about Medifast because many sincere weight loss “wannabes” simply do not understand the program.  Since I have been involved with Medifast I have lost 115 pounds, have kept the weight off and have assisted many readers with the reasons that stopped them from losing weight.  Quite often I have found that most people that became stuck on Medifast was because of a very simple, yet weight stopping mistake.  In the many months of my assisting people I have found fixes ranging from not drinking enough water to exercising too much.  100% of the time after corresponding with Medifast users they have been able to say…”I lost weight on Medifast.”

There have also been many Medifast dieters that have tried Medifast and would not listen to what they were supposed to do.  Medifast is unlike any other weight loss program on the market today and that is really due to a few different reasons.  Below I have listed the most obvious reasons why Medifast is different, and why I can say that I easily lost weight on Medifast.

  • It is not a scam.  I know that sounds silly, but when you think about it for a moment you will realize that there are so many weight loss schemes and scams available that it is often difficult to see through the smoke and haze of the weight loss bull.  To mention just a few, there are a zillion diet pills, there are powders that you sprinkle on your food and berries that only come from the darkest and deepest areas near the Amazon River.  With all of the nonsense on the weight loss scene, it is difficult to reveal and accept the value of a solid and sound weight loss program such as Medifast.  (A random thought is that Medifast is one of only very few weight loss program approved by Johns Hopkins, as they did extensive research and found it to be very, very effective.)
  • Do not count calories.  Not counting calories on Medifast is simply the way the program works.  You eat your 5 Medifast meals and your one Lean and Green and that is all you do.  No calories counted and yet at the end of the week you have weight loss!
  • Minimal exercise.  Medifast does not tell you to exercise for weight loss.  Medifast wants you to understand that you should exercise for health, and everyone needs to understand that subtle and yet massively important difference.  It is not a play on words, it is a fact that I try to instill in all I speak to about Medifast.
  • Never hungry.  Yes, that is an essential element of why the program is such a success for those people that follow and stick to the program.  Not being hungry is because of the high level of nutrition ingested, and also by eating every 3 hours.  I could go into this point deeply, but for the sake of this post, let’s just agree that on Medifast you are never hungry, like experienced on other diet plans. (Except the first 3Days)
  • Healthier than almost ALL plans. That may seem like a large claim, and I guess it really all comes down to opinion…but that is the way I feel about it.  I have even heard doctors talking about the fact that Medifast is even safer and healthier and more effective than having weight loss surgery.  It is definitely better than many weight loss plans out there… and that is a fact!  It is more effective that any berries, powder or pills!

I lost weight on Medifast and yet I hear from many readers that they are experiencing difficulty, and some are even gaining weight sometimes.  I actually have heard this comment on more than a few occasions and I have come to learn that the first thing I always tell the person asking the question, is to stop weighing themselves each and every day.  I then go on to tell them that over the months, or years, they were gaining weight they rarely ventured onto their bathroom scale.  Often when I, as a perfect stranger, then go on to tell them that since they started Medifast they are stepping on the scale each and every morning, they sort of snicker and agree they do just that.  I then point out to them that there are so many other factors that determine if weight is being lost, while they are on Medifast.

I am often dismayed to realize that looser clothing, or ribs showing again, or the absence of acid reflux are also indicators that they have indeed lost some weight that they are just ignoring, because of their focus on the scale.  It usually takes a couple of emails, or phone calls, to determine that the weight that is not being lost is really being lost, or there is a singular mistake being made and it is a specific reason they are overlooking.

I will also admit there are those individuals that insist they are following the program “exactly” and it is not working.  When I discuss it with those individuals and provide all of the FREE resources that Medifast provides to everyone… the weight often starts to fall off again.  When this happens it is often something being done in error.  I can say this from an experience I had when I asked for help and it was shown to me that I was eating, or doing, one simple thing tI thought would be okay…but was not.

I Lost Weight On MedifastI am not a Medifast salesperson.  I am not a Medifast employee.  I am simply someone out here that is thrilled with the fact I was able to regain control of my weight, and my health and ultimately my entire life.  I lost 115 pounds and my wife (Sue) lost 70+ and we know it works.  The problem we have encountered is that many people just give weight loss lip service and really want to be thin, but are not willing to do what it takes to get it done.

If you are trying to lose weight on Medifast and are doing more than lip service, you can send me an email, or call my cell phone.  I would love to help you figure it out because it is more than likely a very simple fix.  I lost weight on Medifast and I know you can too, so don’t think it is a scam or a fad.  Medifast is the real deal and if it is NOT working for you….drop me a line at the email address below, or just call me.

Either way I implore you to not give up on yourself because I want you to one day be able to realize your potential and be able to say….”I lost weight on Medifast.”

Does Medifast Work Long Term?

I have been using Medifast for 180 days, as of today.  Does that count as long term use of Medifast?  Some may say that you need to have lost your weight, and kept it off for a few years before you can say it works for the long term, but I will not agree with that statement.  The reason I feel this way is because I have never been able to lose weight they way I have done so with Medifast and now that I have lost my weight, I have no intention of ever going back again to being fat.  For me, having been able to not only lose the weight, but be able to keep it off for 180 days means that Medifast does work for the long haul.

I can say that Medifast has a great ability to empower me to be able to stay thin because the entire program is really what I call “goof proof.”  I no longer even entertain people telling me that Medifast does not work, or it did not work for them because Medifast is what I would consider to be the most effective long-term weight loss tool available in the world today.  I will even state that if a person were to understand how to use Medifast, it will even be more effective than weight loss surgery is for most people long term.

I have come to understand that using Medifast is not really a diet, but a way of life.  I can step in and out of using Medifast with such ease that keeping my weight off for the long term is easy.  I can provide you a simple example of what I am saying by telling you about my day out yesterday.  But before I do that let me also tell you that I was able to get to my dream weight of 185 pounds using Medifast, as the tool it is intended to be used.  Now that you know I am 6 foot and one-half inch tall and weigh 185 pounds, let me enlighten you as to the wonderful way Medifast is working in the long term for me.

I woke up yesterday and weighed a few ounces over 185 pounds.  I was at a great and healthy weight yesterday and I went out with my best friend and wife, Sue.  We went to Pensacola Naval Air Station and watched a great IMAX movie about The Hubble Telescope.  We had a wonderful time touring the museum and after the movie we decided to eat out and ended up at an Outback Steakhouse.  How does all of this fit into whether or not Medifast works long-term?  The answer is very simple because we went out for the day and had a great time.  Sue was able to stay on plan, and so was I, even though I am not trying to lose anymore weight.  My “plan” is to just not gain the weight back ever again.  Sue is not done losing weight yet and I support her and I follow “the rules” of Medifast Maintenance.  The maintenance plan simply means I will not be using the 5 & 1 Medifast Plan forever.  What it does mean is that when I am in a rush or just on the go I will include some Medifast in my day to avoid the fast food places that initially made be morbidly obese.  When I went out with my wife I was able to enjoy life and yet still not get fat, despite the fact that I am done with the fat-burning portion of Medifast and am now in maintenance mode.

I woke up yesterday before Sue and I made myself 3/4 cup of Egg Beaters with onions, jalapeno peppers and salsa mixed in while cooking.  I also toasted two slices of 15 grain bread and buttered it with a proper, yet very adequate portion of margarine.   As the day progressed we decided to go to the Movie and run some errands mixed in and make it a local, yet fun day.  Before we left the house we took a total of six Medifast Meals which consisted of Crunch Bars, Pretzels and Cheese Puffs.  While we were out and traveling, we ate the convenient and transportable Medifast Meals and ate them as needed every three or so hours.  We even split an extra bar for a snack while sitting in the theater waiting for the movie to start.  During the course of the day we were both able to eat healthy Medifast food and not be hungry or crave any junk at a gas station or other stop during the day.  If you ever had a Medifast Crunch Bar you would know that they really taste like a candy bar and there is not one moment of diet deprivation involved as there is in other diet plans.

As we sat there in wonderment watching the universe unfold before our eyes Sue reached over and took my hand and in that moment life was wonderful because we had achieved our dreams of being thinner.  Life was pretty good so after the movie we decided to go out to eat.  The movie and the day out was wonderful and we did not stress out about calories or losing weight.  We were about to eat a wonderful meal and even though we collectively lost 185+ pounds, we knew that the Medifast Plans was working for us.  Sue was still losing weight and I was not gaining weight.  Not only have we realized Medifast not only works long term, it can easily assist us for the rest of our lives.  This “assist” just means we eat healthy at home and when out we bring Medifast Meals to keep us away from junk food when we do eat out we simply choose a variation of a Lean and Green Meal.  If we stray too far from the plan for a day or a vacation, we simply return back to the plan, regain our healthy weight once again and move on with life.  We have simply learned that we can “reboot” anytime we need to do so with Medifast.

I ate salad with the dressing on the side and had a steak and baked potatoe, while Sue had the brocolli.  We were very particualr when we ordered as to how to cook the food and what to include on the salad, but in the end we left a great tip for great service and even better food.  We were both able to eat out and enjoy the pleasure of each other’s company and yet Sue was able to stay on plan and stay in the mild fat burning state, while I was able to stay in the maintenance mode.

We were able to spend the day out and ate at a great restaurant and neither of us had to worry about our weight!  I was able to stay in maintenance and Sue was able to stay in fat burning and neither of us even felt like we were dieting!  Medifast is awesome not because it works for the long-term, but because Medifast works in the real world.  Medifast works to lose weight and to be able to keep that weight off for life. Medifast is effective long term because when used correctly, a person develops an understanding of nutrition and portion control that makes permanent weight loss a reality.  When a person has that burning desire to lose weight and uses Medifast, they soon learn that Medifast is more than a diet.  Medifast becomes the way a person takes control of their life and achieves optimal health and never allows them self to return to the obesity that threatens so many Americans.  Medifast can easily be integrated into the daily fabric of a person’s schedule in a way that makes life much more enjoyable as a thin person… for the long term.

Does Medifast work for the long term?….To simply answer the question………Yes!

Can I Drink Alcohol or Beer When On The Medifast Diet?

The question of whether or not a person can drink beer or alcohol while trying to lose weight with the Medifast diet plan has been asked many times on this site.  The answer I provide is one that often shocks because it is not the one most expect to get.  If you are on, or if you are thinking of using Medifast to lose weight, the answer to whether or not alcohol can be consumed is really a very simple answer because the answer is “yes.”  There is nothing going to stop you from drinking liquor or booze or the occasional beer.  Now that you have heard the good news about booze and Medifast, let me give you the not so good news.

The one thing about losing weight is that it is all about commitment.  The more weight a person needs to lose, or wants to lose, requires the person to have that much more commitment.  All too often I hear lip-service from those that say they are tired of being over weight and then do nothing about actually losing the weight.  Medifast is really not that much different than ANY other weight loss plan when it comes down to commitment.  That commitment level is what separates a person from being overweight and the person that is going to lose the weight.  If a person wants to lose weight using Medifast then there will need to be a period of time that drinking alcohol cannot be consumed.  Sure you can drink it…but not if you want to lose weight.  Nobody is going to chain you down and stop you from drinking, but if you REALLY hope to lose weight, you will give up the booze while your weight loss attempt is occurring.

The point I am trying to make is that you are the one that decided it may be time to lose weight and regain some of your youth and your health.  If you are looking to drink booze or beer during that time period merely shows a lack of commitment to the overall intention of actually doing something about being obese!  Does this mean that if you drink a beer you are a weight loss failure?  No, it does not but it is really a double-edged sword, that is very sharp.

Medifast is unlike most other diet or meal plans out there in the way a person loses the weight.  A key reason for this is that the plan is low-glycemic and that means that if you follow the plan, you stay in a mild and continuous fat burning state.  That fat burning is achieved and as long as the plan is followed, you will continue to burn fat and hence….lose weight.  If you stray from the plan and drink just one beer, you have caused an influx of carbohydrates and sugars that will halt the fat burning process for up to 3 days.  If you drink that beer you will simply forfeit up to 3 days of fat burning and how does that fit into your commitment?  Nobody will stop you from drinking the vodka, but then nobody is making you do Medifast either.  It simply comes down to how badly you want to lose weight and how firm is your weight loss commitment to yourself.  If you truly want to lose weight then you need to get out of the way of yourself.

I also know that a person cannot live their life in a diet vacuum forever.  If you have some special event coming up like a wedding or a cruise then schedule the event.  Stop the plan for that occasion, enjoy yourself and then jump back onto the plan.  The difficult or tricky part is getting back on plan.  That tricky part is not unique to Medifast, it is common to any and all weight loss plans.  The easy part is going off the plan by drinking a beer or some whiskey, the hard part is recommitting yourself the morning after.

So, to answer the question of whether or not you can drink alcohol while using Medifast is simple.  Yes you can…but not if you want to keep losing weight.

Is Medifast a Fad Diet?

Is Medifast a fad diet?

If you are here trying to decide whether or not Medifast is a fad diet…you have come to the right place because I have been using Medifast for one year and have learned quite a bit about what Medifast is…and what Medifast is not.  What I will say is that Medifast is not a fad diet in any way what-so-ever.  To qualify this answer let me first take a definition of what a fad diet is all about.  The definition of what a fad diet is as follows;

“a reducing diet that enjoys temporary popularity”

What you need to know about Medifast is that it has been around longer than almost any established diet plan on the market today.   A well worn Medifast statement is that it has been recommended by more than 20,000 doctors since 1980.  Since it is a very simple statement that can be verified anywhere, it is quite evident that Medifast has been around way too long to be classified as a fad diet.  Since the definition of a fad diet involves a diet that is short-lived, and since Medifast has been around well over 30 years…it can hardly be even remotely considered to be a fad diet.  In short, Medifast has an established history i

Although the Medifast Diet has been in existence since 1980, the knowledge and experience behind the concept of this meal replacement program goes as far back as 50 years. Medifast is owned by Jason Pharmaceuticals, Inc. of Owings Mills, MD and was originally founded by William Vitale, MD.

The Medifast method is simple meal replacement. It is not like any other other diet on the market.  Medifast provides life changing behavior modification programs (it has changed the life of my wife and I)  and products that support their customers through weight loss and into weight maintenance. The Medifast program teaches people how to lose weight and keep it off for life. That is why the diet is more successful for significantly overweight people, like I used to be, because the longer you are on the diet, the more you learn about healthy eating habits, meal preparation, portion control, nutritional information and weight management.

So…without going into anymore detail about whether or not Medifast is a fad diet, let me just leave you with the definition and a few more Medifast facts that will dispel any doubt you may have remaining.

  • Medifast is clinically proven

Medifast Prices

Medifast prices are pretty straight forward. Since I have been “observing” many weight loss programs over the past few years I can tell you there is a direct relationship to the pricing of the product and the trustworthiness of the company behind the scenes.  What I mean by this is that the cost, or the pricing of a product that is easy to understand, and straight forward, is more often than not the more reputable organization.  With the Medifast prices, there is absolutely NO gray area that is hidden between the lines.

With Medifast prices you get what you see.  There is no razzle-dazzle or “call now” pricing that you need to take advantage of in the next ten minutes.  When one looks at getting started with Medifast there is nothing special to understand that will get you a better deal.  There is not one website out here in cyberspace that will get you a better price than the next website.  Medifast does this for reasons that go well beyond the scope of the traditional Medifast Diet Program, and is discussed on our other website that goes into greater detail. (Our Weight Loss Story)  Suffice it to say, the Medifast pricing structure is rigid and non-flexible, other than two coupons and the VIP Club.  In a way the Medifast pricing is a well defined Medifast Law that does not vary AT ALL.

What you, the reader need to understand that the price structure for Medifast is set in stone and it does not matter where you come from, or what organization you may represent.  The same price for Medifast food will be paid.  As a person does their research about Medifast they will quickly see many different websites that offer coupons or deals that appear as if they have a secret that is only a mouse click away.

The truth about Medifast prices is that the most important thing to decide is how long you want to try the weight loss program.  Do you you want to try it for two weeks or  28 days or two months?  Longer?  This question is really where you need to decide because the duration of use will determine the best price.  So as you search for Medifast prices…are you not really searching for the best price?

If you want the best price for Medifast, and want to use it for one month or less, the best thing to do is use a coupon.  If you want to use it for more than 28 days, then the only correct choice would be to join the VIP Club.  I could go into greater detail about Medifast prices, but I would simply be writing in circles, because the prices are what they are.  If you want a detailed explanation of Medifast prices, take a look at another article (on this website) that goes into greater explanation, while discussing the current two coupon codes that are being used for this month.

It is strongly suggested you try Medifast for at least 28 days simply because you will need that much time to really get into the program.  Some people have tried it for two weeks and soon learned that they regretted only two weeks because they hated having to get out of fat burning, while they waited for their next order.  Only after 28 days will a person realize the FULL potential and promise of the program.

When you go to the Medifast Official Site you simply need to know if you want to use the program for two week,s or 28 days (1 month) or longer.  Plan on losing weight*, do the math and start your journey.  The price for Medifast is no great mystery and it is designed to be that way.
