I think it is natural for women to gain weight during their pregnancy period and they shouldn’t really worry about that. And eating for 2 is not really an excuse, that rapidly growing child is demanding the required vitamins and minerals. So it might not be even that healthy to the infant for women to go through any courses of diet

One way to keep the weight of you and your unborn baby is by staying away from Lucozade!! I had a craving for the last 2 months of my pregnancy and it made us both big, my baby was a healthy 9lb but am sure it was the lucozade addiction that made us big

My wife always took good care of herself during the pregnancy and it seemed easier to recover after if the correct measures are taken during the pregnancy.
I have friends who you could call slim/skinny before they got pregnant and just from my observation it has really taken around 6-9 months for them to return to their original figure. But it seems they never completely go back to what they weighed before hand, at least in what I’ve seen.
During my wife’s pregnancy, I always tell her not to lose weight but not to gain much also. It is right to eat more because of the baby but you can replace it by eating healthier foods…
You need to remember that you are eating for two while pregnant and just not you. The baby needs vitamins and nutrients to be healthy and grow. I would be more worried about losing weight after the pregnancy is done.
