BodyBugg Review: My First Day Wearing The BodyBugg
I awoke this morning to find my fully charged BodyBugg awaiting me on my office desk. I went about my daily routine and sometime in there I slipped the BodyBugg armband where the directions say to place it. Once it was in place on my left arm, I went off to work and pretty much forgot it was even there. It did not bother me and I only thought about it a few times. The BodyBugg arrived with two bands, one a medium and the other a large. I am very happy to report that the band and the BodyBugg did not discomfort me in any way. I really did forget I had it on.
The big change in my life routine was that I started my exercise at 24Hour Fitness. I sort of just drifted in the place for the first time and the employees were kind and I pretty much went unnoticed. I opted to spend one full hour on an elyptical machine as I like the low impact cardio it offers. I must say that while listening to Dr. Wayne Dyeron my iPod the hour went by very quickly. I sweat alot and by the time the hour was over I had to ask myself why I had put off exercise so often? I guess the endorphins really do kick in and help a person feel great.
The rest of the day went well and I was excited to end my day and hook up the BodyBugg to my computer, to see how the results looked and discover how the entire thing works. I must admit the hardest part of the BodyBugg so far is the need to input all of the foods I ate. I found it to be a little tedious to enter in each and every morsel of food I had eaten during the day. The search feature (for food) on the BodyBugg website is effective, but it is a little slow. It is not that slow, I am just a “download it now!” type of person and hate even the slightest day on my computer. My partner told me that I was just impatient and it was just fine.
I know that as the days go by, it will become easier to enter the foods I ate, into the computer. The program does remember what I ate, so over time it will be much faster to enter foods eaten. There is a drop down list that appears as you start typing food choices. The entire setup is really not that bad and I suspect that in a week or two, as I become more familiar, it will become much easier and faster to use.
When I connected my bodybugg to the computer and uploaded my daily data I was very impressed. It showed my activity level for the entire day and I could even see on a graph how inactive I was during that hour meeting and how active I was while at 24Hour Fitness. The information that appeared on my computer screen was quite easy to understand and very, very impressive. I saw how many calories I ate and how many I burned. I saw how many steps I took and on those graphs was a slew of useful information.
I do not want to make this entry too long as I do have the next six months to write about my BodyBugg journey. I do look forward to seeing The Biggest Loser this upcoming season knowing that I have really started on my health and weight loss journey, before sitting down in front of the television. Too many times in the past another season of The Biggest Loser would start and I still was just sitting on the couch….doing nothing. This season I have done something and it feels great.
For the first day of wearing my BodyBugg I give it a double thumbs up!!! I look forward to seeing the future data and I know that as more date is collected, the more accurate it will become.
Just a tiny factoid..
The battery on the BodyBugg goes 5 – 7 days between charges.
