BodyBugg Armband

BodyBugg, which is the definitive weight loss assistance tool in the world today, is attached to the user’s body by an armband.  When people think about The BodyBugg, it needs to be realized that it is actually a two piece system.  The computer, or the brain of the BodyBugg, is actually a separate piece that snaps into a plastic ring on the band (Article Updated: June 2010: There are now colors available for the BodyBugg, but those colors are not the band, they are the plastic ring that the main unit snaps into.  To see those colors you will need to click on one of the BodyBugg or 24Hour Fitness links and just follow through till you get to the replacement strap section) that you see on all of the players on The Biggest Loser.  To download your personal information onto your computer, the BodyBugg needs to be separated from the armband and then connected via a provided USB cord. Currently the armband is only available in black, but there is discussion over making more colors available.  If that were to happen, the BodyBugg will even become fashionable.  For some wearers of The BodyBugg the color of the band is not important because any shirt with a sleeve will cover up the unit.  It is also projected that the various colors will appeal more to females than to males.  We will update this post if, and when those various armband colors become available.

When you receive the armband with your BodyBugg there are actually two bands in the package.  One armband can be colored while the other will be black.   One is for a smaller person, while the other is for a larger person.  The warranty on the armband is for 90 days, but in reality there is little that can go wrong with the armband.  There is a good chance that the active user of a BodyBugg will need to purchase an additional armband because of all the sweating and 23 hours a day of constant use.   The least expensive place to order replacement armbands is at 24Hour Fitness.

The daily care of the armband is important because if it does not receive periodic cleaning, the skin can become irritated.  Disinfecting the armband with isopropyl alcohol may sometimes be needed.  If the user fails to keep the armband clean the skin may become irritated and this may affect the sensor performance.  Never, ever use solvents to clean the armband because anything other that mild soap and warm water will affect the lifespan of the strap.

The cleaning  and hygiene needed for a BodyBugg is minimal but it might be nice to think about ordering a second strap so a BodyBugg user can always have a clean and dry one available.  It is nice that when you  can take a shower and then be able to put The BodyBugg on and it too be clean, non-odorous and dry.

Overall there really is not too much to the BodyBugg armband other than the fact that it holds the most advanced device for keeping track of how many calories a person burns in a day.  The device itself is so light weight that it is so comfortable wearing that you will forget you even have it on your left arm.
