Best Way To Lose Weight
So you want to lose some weight. Maybe you want to lose 100 pounds or just 20 pounds. Let’s get past the hype and the salesmanship and just talk facts. If you want to lose weight you just need to do it. You just need to get up and get it done. If you really want to lose the weight then what you have to do is simple. You need to eat less calories than you burn off in your daily life. Nothing more and definitely, nothing less will get it done. If you want to be healthy and fit then you just need to get up and get it done.
We can talk about all the ins and outs of weight loss. We can discuss the exercises you should do or the exercise equipment you should purchase but the cold hard fact that you need to get past is that you just need to not only get started but you must be able to continue past the point of a few weeks and a few setbacks. All too often people set lofty goals and then fail and then give up and gain weight. If you are like most people then what you need to do is stop buying into all of the weight loss gimmicks and diet pills and weight loss wonder products. If you want to lose weight then you just need to get up and get it done. Unfortunately most people do not know what needs to be done and as a result they fail, give up and suffer emotionally as being a failure. Well, those days are over, if you really want them to be over. You are going to put those days behind you and right here and right now you are going to make a difference in your weight loss journey.
1. Prior Failed Diets Are Good For Future Diet Success
Do not beat yourself up over all of the times you have tried to lose weight and failed. Do not think that you are dumb or a loser because you are overweight. That is like getting upset because you were born. What you must do is take all of those failures and place them into your mind as experiences gained and learn from those mistakes. Every event that has occurred in your life is in the past. You cannot change one of those events. You can’t change an incident that happened less than one second ago. What you need to do is look at those “perceived” diet failures as events that led you to this point of seeking knowledge. Now that you have failed a few times you have gained the experience of what does not work and now you are just fine tuning what does work. The simple fact is that what does work is that you need to eat less and exercise more.
2. Deprivation Does Not Work
Now you know that if you decide you can’t have pizza anymore the only thing you want to eat is pizza. If you see that candy bar on the shelf you get sad because it feels like you are seeing that childhood love that got away. If you think you can go on a “diet” and give up everything you love then you have just set yourself up for failure. If you think you can give up chocolate forever then with that unrealistic goal that you set you are doomed to fail. That one day will arrive where you will pop that first piece of chocolate into your mouth and after the moment of joy, you feel like a complete and utter failure. From that mood of failure is born the seeds of another diet failure. What you should have done is started your “diet” with the belief that after you lose 10 pounds you will go get that chocolate bar with the almonds in it that you love so much. After you lose a few pounds you will enjoy being able to go have that slice of pizza with the oil dripping off of it. By allowing yourself the option to work up to food fulfillment, without binging, is a much more achievable weight loss goal. By allowing yourself to “fail” for a meal or a social event will not be dramatic. This is because you will start to live a life without a diet and will start to live your life with a “live-it. This live-it will not only be achievable but will have more good days than “bad” days of eating. That is because when you have that day with a donut and a few slices of pizza, you know that tomorrow you will get right back to eating better food choices.
3. Better Food Choices
So what are all the “better food choices” we hear so much about? It is actually quite simple to start eating healthier foods. Cut out all types of soda, stop putting salt on your food so often. Stop frying everything you eat. Stop eating so many burgers. Stop eating all of your meals at wherever the next restaurant is when you get hungry. Start planning the majority of your meals and act as if what you eat matters. Stop using your mouth as a food garbage processor. Sure you can still eat well, just start to make better choices. If you cut out just soda how many calories will you give up? If you give up candy for two weeks then how many calories is that you have not eaten? If you say you cannot give up this or that, which you know are bad, then that is alright. If you do not want to make the change then you have just learned why you have failed so often. If you truly want to lose the weight then you will do what it takes to get it done. If you do not want to get it done, then just realize that the diet failed in your mind before it appeared on your belly or your buttocks.
4. Exercise Is A Must
If you want to lose weight then you have to get up and get moving. You must exercise to help you burn off more calories. You must speed up that metabolism and that is what will cause you to lose weight. You need to go for a walk or get a treadmill or an elliptical and get your body moving. Once again it all comes back to what your mind tells you to do. If you start to whine about exercising that too is alright. The only person who has to deal with being overweight is you, yourself and no one else. Sure, if you die from being fat your family will grieve, but that too will pass. Sure, if you remain overweight you will more than likely have heart trouble or diabetes but that too will be mostly your problem and your reality will be affected the most.
If you think these words are harsh…you are right. They are not meant to hurt your feelings they are meant to wake you up. 300,000 people die each and every year and they will never read these words. If you truly want to lose weight then you need to grab yourself by your mind and get it in gear. You must gain the knowledge you need to drop the weight. Gain the knowledge you need to make it happen. With knowledge you will not need excuses. Think of how great it will be when you can shop for clothing “like a normal person”. If you really want it to happen then just do it. All thoughts have the potential to be acts of greatness. You still have the ability to turn your thoughts into actions and those actions into greatness. You may just need a bit of support and help sustaining that motivation that is coursing through you right now.
Seize the moment and carry the motivation you fell now into action and carry that action out for as long as it takes to show yourself that you can be thin. You choose your future and that choice can begin now.
